Happy New Year. I found my mother's Rolex Geneve, today. I am headed to Rolex Repair 5th Ave. in the morning. You have a great voice, by the way, inviting, in a matter of fact, authentic way.
All you need to regulate a Rolex, is any watch maker with the proper certifications. Same goes for servicing too. Rolex movements are extremely simple, so as long as the guy has the certification and a parts account, you're all good. You don't need to take it to Rolex.
It's an OCD thing. I want almighty ROLEX to service it. It's such a periodic thing (what, every 10 years?) that I might as well spring for daddy Rolex to do it themselves.
Awesome video - I'm not even 3 minutes into it, but have to comment - that's cool they have some models on display. RSC Japan doesn't, but really should! Rolex does seem like they'd be a great company to work for, and that gentleman made a great choice!
Ikr, it's cool to see them on display. And they rotate them in and out - last time there were different models, including the green dial OP, a cermit/Starbucks, and a tt root beer.
Hi. Watched you video again. The Timeless Watch guy is right about the new Speedy having a sharp bracelet. I’ve just bought one too - a Hesalite 3861 and the steel bracelet is sharp AF; like it hurt😬. I just slightly wet sanded the corner edges with 450 paper and it’s fine now. Still love it. 👍🏼
Wow! You got some balls sanding your watch! Idk if I'd have it in me. Although, I must say, I'd love to sand down the underside of the clasp of my jubilee bracelet. It's sharp too!
@@DrRolexPhD 🍒 Yes. It’s that bad. It’s going back to the AD. They’ll either take a buffing wheel to the inner edge or give me a new bracelet. Tell us what you think if you get one or try one on.
Hey fun video. I subscribed. So I got a 214270 last December ( just in time!) and it was running about 6-8 seconds slow per day and so I asked the AD and they were happy to regulate it...I only bring this up because they told me as long as it is under warranty they are obliged to keep the "superlative chronometer" guarantee. Not sure how old yours is, but I'll check out your other videos and maybe I'll find out.
Do they do buffing/polishing? I scratched the clasp of my 2020 sub, and was going to go to Watch Grand Central to get the clasp buffed, but I’d rather have it done by Rolex, if possible. Great video, btw - I live in the city, but never knew of the service center! Thank you for this.
Hey Michael, thank you! Yes Rolex will polish your clasp, but you will need to give them your watch for a full service, which will cost around $700 and will take about 6 weeks. The benefit of doing that instead of giving it to Watch Grand Central is, Rolex will polish it absolutely perfectly, without any unevenness or flaws. Personally, assuming the scratch you have isn't massive, I wouldn't polish the watch at all, with Rolex or with WGC, but that's a separate issue. If you must polish it, do it with Rolex during that full service, but wait another couple of years to do so. There's no way a 2020 watch - the movement - needs a service yet. Ultimately: don't polish the watch at all, but if you must, wait until the watch needs a service and do it then, with Rolex.
@@DrRolexPhD neg, not yet. we were in nyc a couple weeks ago. went to a few rolex shops - very few pieces, only ladies blingy . pretty sad . be safe - ~ JDS/CT
My pleasure! I'm gonna do it again tomorrow, this time to London Jewelers in the WTC mall. And yeah, I agree they're worthless, but the U.S. is so litigious these days, it's impossible to avoid.
I think if anybody wanted to see and try on a model they could walk down a few blocks to the grey dealers. Not worth it for ADs to have display only models there. They will sell them no matter what. Plus in addition to litigation claims theres also the crime factor in big cities hence more of a reason to keep them in the back.
Wearing a watch like that is very dangerous brother. I've worn my Rolex watches all over the world. Always wear a jacket to cover it up. Don't be brash wearing one by yourself. Nice watch. NEAL APOLLO BEACH FLORIDA
Man, they hooked you up with a complimentary regulation! Take them some chocolates when you eventually have your watch serviced. Yes, indeed - at least one AD here has pieces on display, but not for sale. You can look, but you can't touch them.
Ah, interesting, I thought you could try them on. Well, I hope they implement that plan, because a lot of people (myself included) would have a field day trying on all the hot models (and maybe some not-so-hot models too). Lol yeah you know, they're so conservative and professional there that, I don't think they'd accept chocolates if I brought them. But I'll try! Maybe flowers? I'll try something.

Great video! Thank you for sharing! I walk by the Rolex building on 5th occasionally but have never walked inside 🤙🤙
It's a magical place!
There are many hot models Rolex watches on display only at most of the AD and boutique shops at far east. Is quite common here.
So it is possible to just walk-in to the NY RSC to drop off a watchf or service? No appointment needed?
No appointment needed, these days there's plenty of availability so you can walk right in.
Good vid. Much success with the channel.
Thank you 🙏

Strange you didn't go for the fluted bezel and Jubi bracelet.
The flashiness of it isn't my style. I like the more rugged, humble look of the smooth/oyster

@@jonathansmith283 oh yes. I asked my AD when I was there, "do you have anything 36mm or above?"
The answer was no.
The bracelet of the omega speedy isn’t sharp, it’s the edges of the case and lugs. I bought one in February and then sold it in March. Lol
Oh boy...
Why'd you sell it?
You got anything out of Rolex yet?
