I just traded in a 2022 Soul that had wireless Carplay and was shocked to find out the new 2023 Sportage SX Prestige did not have wireless Carplay. This is a huge disappointment as we like everything else about the Sportage. It has all the technology required for wireless Carplay but they didn't include it. I wonder if there is a licensing issue. Maybe they will offer it as an upgrade later. Wireless Carplay is a great convenience as you just get into your car and the system works without having to stop and make a connection. Even better with wireless charging! I hope Kia has a plan to offer this.

I read this is something they are hoping to resolve in the future. Yes. A licensing issue.

Does the navigation have voice commands like Google Maps or Waze in multiple language? :)
I was surprised by this as well. Just got a wireless plug in dongle that does the trick and let's me connect without a cable. Makes my big phone easier to drop in the wireless charging tray

Thinking of getting the Sportage. Never had Carplay before for my iphone. Sucks that is had to be plugged in, but from what I saw in your video, and correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like I don't even need to use Carplay since the native infotainment has navigation, syncs my contacts and can receive text messages. Maybe a video comparing Carplay vs the native infotainment system in different cars can be a good idea.

Hi Christopher, I tried to play music from a flashdrive by plugging it in into the USB-port. It works but the music files seem to be stored folder-less. Unless I overlooked a thing, I did not find a way to climb up in tree system. It just picked the first folder and start playing that music. Thanks a lot, Alex - Switzerland.

I just connected my iPhone to my new telluride 2023. I see my contacts but don’t have a favorite contact button on the telluride screen. How do you add it?
When you connect your phone to Kia sport Taj, if you scroll to get to settings then and a vehicle turn vehicle, is that how you disconnect your cell phone to the car or is it somewhere there Chempy?!

no bluetooth is different from connecting to android or apple car plat
I have a 2023 Kia EV6. The screen is significantly different. There is no phone button. Phone projection is not on the set up screen, you have to go through device connections. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I can’t get CarPlay to show up on the car screen. My iPhone won’t show any available car.

In 2018 kia sportage there was a plug in apple car play, but i foud it’s solution by entering dev mode and changing carplay config(after that it worked wireless). So may be there is a solution for 2022 model too?

Can you have the navigation go on to the display of the speedometer or does it have to only be on the other screen?
it will give you your next turn direction but wont show the full map

I plugged in my thumb drive and my audio book started right away. when I stopped I just tapped the button to turn off. when i started the car again, the usb was not reconized, I had to reinsert. am I suppose to take it out each time I turn off the car?
you should be able to just leave it in the car plugged in

you might have to change the app permissions in your app settings

I just purchased the Kia forte 2023 how do you delete the voice memos and is there a reason the volume control to go to the next song is flipped from my 2020 optima can I change that?

Yes, we use apple carplay with usb on the apple phone and Bluetooth on other andoid phone at the same time)

Is anyone able to confirm - can this top trim with the larger screen, stream audio via bluetooth if you choose not to hardwire connect your phone (to carplay)? As in, not using carplay but still stream bluetooth audio?

My salesman has his email in my car i just bought. I got rid of his profile but his email is still in the connect. I registered my car on website and it shows he is connected still . I contacted him to remove himself from my connect system. No reply yet.

I paired my MP4 player as the default bluetooth item. Now when I click on media, all I see is AM radio and FM radio. It doesn't show the player as an option. The rest are shown but no available. This forces me to to go to setup and click a dozen buttons to get it to play. What am I doing wrong.

@@carsunlocked That´s not the same model though. It makes ZERO sense that Kia/Hyundai cannot get wireless CarPlay on the higher trims/Bigger screens

What I meant by my comment is I’d rather use Kia’s navigation because of the display but I can’t because it never understands me. Obviously if I type it but when I’m driving; it always replies “sorry I can’t understand you”.

@@carsunlocked I talk very slowly, loud and I don’t have an accent (sometimes that’s a factor). Do I speak thru my iPhone or is there a microphone in the vehicle? Like when I’m asking for directions via Google Maps; I have my iPhone close to me when I ask

I have the sx prestige and the audio left a lot to be desired to be premium, nothing good is heard, the bass is very poor and I have it at maximum, very bad Harman Kardon

the Kia connect app is the WORST app of all the car makers. Its useless and is ONLY used to start the car. Most functions dont even work. Dont pay for this... you'll regret it
