I would gladly watch every single one of the zones if you made the videos
markelino me too😀
Aye Me too.
Agreed
It’s a good idea to have some dive-in stories for each region. Horde side is definitely more interesting. Lol
"Everyone's favourite loa"
Hek hek hek!
Welcome richmon
Haha, when he said that I was like "JANI?!?"
more like "Skirmish for Azeroth" then everyone goes to their respective corners, does their own thing while occasionally poking at each other at the end.
Much love bro. Thank you so very much for posting these lore videos. I look forward to each and video you produce. Thank you again and as I said I look forward to future videos. 🤘
"Drustvar, which is a very spooky place"
Lmfao that line really got me, love the vids
I wonder what Bowsandi's reaction to Sylvanas will be considering he HATES undead
i dont understand.. Why become a loa of death if you hate them lol
He hates them because he doesnt get their souls, they live forever. Loa of Death is not Loa of undead
I would say he cares about troll souls only
Bowsandi put Sylvanas into that place. Oops spoiler.
I do not think he has much say in the matter as his Master is the one who placed Sylvanas in power in the first place or so it seems.
Thanks for making these amazing videos , I am looking forward if you made a long version story for horde story since I only play alliance side .
I’m really enjoying the Zandalar quests so far. So the more Troll lore the better! :D
excellent recap. i'm only maxed on the horde side, but played alliance up to about 117 on beta....so, this is great! thank you.
What better place to ask than here.
I really want to know how the role of the playable character right now in BfA fits with the characterisation given during Legion. I mean, as far as I'm aware, the playable character became the outright leader of the order halls; they became these beacons of hope for Azeroth and a leader to all, regardless of whether or not they belonged to the Alliance or the Horde. So now that the faction war is raging, just how does it fit? Is Blizz ignoring this right now?
It's just, I imagine all the current Tauren and Troll druids (sans the Zandalari, of course) hearing or seeing their Worgen Archdruid leader killing their allies during the siege of Lordaeron and it just... hurts.
Some offhand remark made by Rexxar seems to indicate Order Halls didnt last after the war started
"I had found kinship with other hunters in the Unseen Path. We fought to defend a broken land.
But now, the horn of war is sounded once again ... I had to answer the call."
Its so underwhelming. They could have gone in so many directions with this one, there's even historical accounts of international organizations responses towards war (like the Second Workers' International imploding and disbanding after WWI started, or the cooperation of artists guilds to preserve culture despite government dictates in both WW)
I never like the idea of us being the leaders of the order hall. Just being a part of the orderhall with other of your class would of been fine and your the one fighting the legion so yeah it makes sense you need the powerful weapon, you didn't need to be the leader for that.
And now we have the issue(same with the weapon themselves which I was also not a fan of) of what happen now that we move on. Yes it happen before in past expansion where the 2 side fight together to take on a big foe but when that all done it back to our faction war, but the whole order hall thing and us being the leader, lorewise who would give that up and why and that just bugs me.
I was pretty sure they said something about giving some story to say goodbye to the order halls, but nothing really happened with that. We just returned from Argus, got the faction war going and turned on eachother. Maybe something in the future? No idea
@@TheOnlyeX wooow. Now that's just a low blow, and coming from Rexxar of all people? The only affiliation he ever had was to his animals, and even HE got into a fight with a Horde he shouldn't recognise anymore? After finding a sense of kinship he's longed for who knows for how long? That one right there will be among the nastiest stings here.
@@Nobbel87 so it's a deal similar to how it felt like sth was missing from Sylvanas and Genn's story during Legion. The frustration of having material you work for be cut, I can barely imagine it.
Honestly, I still hand it to the writing team, the current events of the Zandalari coup and new dawn was bloody great, and I can't watch the Pride of Kul'Tiras without crying; writing for something as massive as the WoW lore is no easy feat at all!
But some choices are made that miss the acceptably high bar and it feels... grating.
Thanks for replying personally btw. New sub here.
With the alliance cinematics I couldn't stop laughing my gnome mage is mogged to look like a kinky fetish gnome with a tentacle staff
I need to see this! Lmaoo
upload a video showcasing it
Priscilla feels very Black Dragonflight-y to me, but that might also just be me being extremely suspicious of shady characters.
Buttered Lumps Found the black guy
Doing the lord's work
Mildly interesting and loosely related bit of intrigue Nobbel. The vanilla warrior class quest requires powdered azurite as a quest item, collected from miners in hillsbrad. Not spelled the same but maybe foreshadowing. Probably not but interesting...
I honestly doubt blizzard was thinking 14 years in advance. Just look at their retconning... They can't make up their mind. They just make up the story with the flow. We have lich King expansion? Put DKs! We have legion expansion? Bring back illidan!
I'm willing to bet they called it azurite because it sounded cool, not because they had a plan. I'm also willing to bet that noone at Blizzard has known about that for 13 years.
the part with trolls... I understood like every second word, because strange names everywhere... :D
KoaFid CZ haha me2
Hey Nobbel will you do a video about the Lore of the Dire trolls. Because with BFA Blizzard has given them a new model and has added alot of them to Zandalar
Overall story sounds great but I would LOVE to hear detailed ones as well :)
What is that little jingle in the beginning of each video? It's so catchy!
6:52 As he says When we uncover, Rastakhan's loin cloth uncovers haha :D :D :D
Sweet now I can catch up on anything I've missed since last I checked the planet got shanked
I have just started bfa and tried initial quests for both factions. At first alliance characters and towns looked more appealing being more classic and “normal”, but the more I research horde story I get more involved... I havent yet decided which faction character I should invest my time in bfa.
Hey there Nobbel,
Great video as always. I wanted to bounce an idea I have about Magni, N'Zoth, Azshara and Sylvanas I hope you might have an opinion on.
As we saw during Wrath of the Lich King with Yoog Saron and how it's blood turned into Saronite, it seems very similar to what we are now dealing with Azeroth and Azerite. One of the whispers of Il'gynoth was
"The king of diamonds has been made a pawn". As we know, the old gods are extrememly manipulative. Are we sure that Magni might actually be communing with N'Zoth and not the
world soul? The situation is so similar.
Also, I always wondered why of all the races, why would Sylvanas want to go after the Night Elves? I don't remember there EVER being any sort of direct hostility between Sylavanas
and any night elf prior to the War of Thorns. One person we do know had a problem with them was Azshara, a servant of N'Zoth. At the end of the Battle for Lordaeron, her interactions seemed very similar to Azshara's personality from the “Well of Eternity" trilogy.
We don't REALLY know what happened to Sylvanas after the fight with Genn Greymane and what went down with Helya during their meeting. Just my 2 copper here, but perhaps...Sylvanas
might not be Sylvanas...but Azshara!
Anyways, thanks for all the great videos sir...SEE YA!
cause darnasus was overseeing the sea routes for azerite. thats why she attacked the nelves. also she wanted to make them fight. if anduin takes back the nelves home before gilneass she hoped to breed war within the alliance. but she got angry, went over the top and unified them ...
4:02 When they say the lore leaves burning questions in the back of your mind I didnt think they meant this xD
Drust and Blood Trolls both use a new kind of Necromancy. Like the Mogu, distinct from the Scourge. That must make Sylvanas very happy.
8:24 *BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD*
Thanks
"Speka! of tha Horde!" don't know why but i kind of like the way he say it...
Big frog is my favorite loa.
Please make longer version ( zone per zone) perhaps. This felt a bit rushed :( Still loved it tho
SEE YAA :D NO WAIT, before i go, great video mate. Blizzard are really good with the cutscenes nowadays.
could you do the story of every single zone by separate? I play wow anymore but I still like the lore
Will you be covering the war campaigns as well?
I was away most of last week because of family business, so I'm still leveling my Horde and Alliance mains. I haven't even finished the first zone yet on either character, because there are so many new quests and new lands to explore. I fear patch 8.1 will already be out by the time I complete the War Campaign and get the rep needed to unlock the Mag'har orcs and Dark Iron dwarves, not to mention the new dungeons, Island Expeditions and Warfronts I haven't tried yet.
How were you able to watch the Nazmir Cutscene? Bugged camera for me all 3 tries.
Good Plan Nobbeltje
Has the storyline concerning how the Dark Iron Dwarves join the Alliance been touched on in BFA yet? Also I need answers for where Maiev and Thrall are in this expansion
Or how Nobbel would describe it Meiv is grieving for the loss of her beloved Illidan :P
Secretly Maiv snuck into the seat of the pantheon to pester Illidan as he face palms.
we all know Maiev and Illidan did the nasty as some point in Legion, so she too could be dealing with parental issues.
Did Mythrax attack around the same period when the other c'thraxi who was originally after tyr ended up attacking Zandalar and who exactly sent him?
They need to make the story play out like a quest into scenario it sucks just getting max lvl and all the dungeons with no context
Nobbel you have forgotten about one Loa which is present in this expansion.
Loa of Lags... he held my team in his power for like 5 minutes during your run in King's Rest
Considering how often the Hord gets from being called the Hord. I wonder how much could be avoided if Thrall didn't call his new Hord the Hord
love the story so far in BFA. However, i hope theres more to the Sylvanas part.
Just remember everyone, there are absolutely NO OLD GODS!!!! NONE!!!! This is obviously a faction-based expansion.... nothing else, no sub plot, nope!!! Just some good old Alliance vs. Horde Warfare
Yup no old gods here. Do not look behind the oozing curtain, and please ignore the "all problems=old gods" banner at blizzard HQ.
That's exactly what an old god's servant would say
we are totally not being manipulated to open up N'zoths prison nope not at all, there is no manipulation going on what so ever!
Don't worry nzoth definitely didn't told me to capture sylvanus for its henati dram .......NOPE NOT AT ALL!!!
Hehehe! Kathrine and I just saved Jaina from the upside down :D Now we besties! Lol. Siege of Boralus tomorrow after work! Can’t wait!
Wait what's that part about dazar in the dungeon?
So personly i haven't felt like playing the game since BFA came out, i got myself my collects edition put the code in and thats about it, i havent been well too which hasn't helped but i just havent felt the call that normally happens with a new expac.
Now all that said blizz has outdone themselves with how great this expac looks and im quite liking the story when its not directly linked to the dumb faction war.
Its now a tradition to end my posts talking about wow this way
As aways For Azaroth!
Sooo, what are the implications of serving the loa of death? Why is it bad, if it is at all?
I did not see that plot twist with Taelia! WTF!
Nice
I hope we will see rexxar !
the way to go to each zone is different how I think story flow in order
I'm going to be totally honest with you my man, I don't return for the content, I return for your voice. 😘
Can anyone explain why Talanji was seeking help from the Horde in the first place?
Thanks knobbel ✊
So on the note of trolls becoming loa, we do know one of the first Zandalari mages, Zanza, became a loa.
Doc Madfox I’ve been thinking that perhaps the troll looking Loa were once living trolls, whereas the animalistic ones are in a sense true loa. Like perhaps Loa like Bwonsamdi were once trolls who stole the original loas power and took their place.
bwonsamdi isn't a troll, he predates trolls by a long while
In regard to Mortals becoming LOA, Bwonsamdi is a Troll. So I would say it is a safe bet. For those who have done the Quest to honor Vul'jin, they hint that he is now a LOA as well.
i wonder (ive "finished" the war campaign of the horde side) why its so silent for a ongoing war, sylvanas and anduin are like "nope you do you"
Well wowhead put together a rough state of the war according to the follower missions, its nowhere near silent:
www.wowhead.com/news=284410/the-story-from-the-follower-missions-in-battle-for-azeroth-spoilers
It is just that we are sent to the most important theater of the war getting our naval power back up after it was devastated on both side in Legion .... as controlling the waves is of utmost importance for both factions.
Do you think Il'Gynoth is the corruption in the emerald nightmare as G'Huun is to the bloodlords?
theres so much lore i give up
If Zul is so prophetic and Talanji so powerful with Rezan backing her , how did they get captured in the first place?
For the pirate fairy!
So hows the first raid is gonna turn out with both factions?
Lore wise i think only hordes enter it to clear it out. Doubt the alliance would want to help the zandalars by clearing out uldir. But i don't think we have any confirmation on this.
This makes me want to play wow again but I never even got to endgame WoD or Legion and looks like blizz is churning up another expac its crazy there used to be 1 year content droughts in this game and they're really on it.
Storyline so far in BFA for both A and H: parent made a terrible choice - daughter pays for it - realize old god is behind all
There I’m better than Nobbel
Don't know if its me but I put you on 0,75 speed sometimes. Otherwise I keep repeating parts because It goes too fast to gather all the information that you compact in one sentence :P
Else from the Disney movie Frozen suspiciously resembles Jaina Proudmore. Compare them side by side. It's practically a color photocopy.
Lucky you, I need to bloody get a new monitor because of my new pc. I am kinda pissed XD
I really liked the Drustvar zone - I'm huge fan of horror movies so I felt at home - but the other two alliance zones didn't really feel good to quest trough - Maybe alittle of the Stormsong because of the old gods and naga
I hate Drustvar not because of the lore but because of the annoying ass route you have to take to get from the eastern wq's to the western and vice versa.
so much more seems to happen on the horde's side of the story, or is that just me?
I still laugh at the Loa Mythrax's "sacrifice". Is still consider a sacrifice if you letting a building size monster fall you when you could easily side step out of the way?
Here is my question: who is Garona gonna kill? Sylvanas? Greymane? Gallywix? Cant be anduin...?
Wait just a goddamn minute. The nation of Kul tiras was already separate from the alliance as of beyond the dark portal
When I played as alliance I know that durst are vrykul who migrate and gorak tul is void druid more like fandral staghelm tapping the power of fireland and became druid of flame
Say what you will about the gameplay changes / weird moments (like seriously, I'd love to know what you think about Lillian, Rexxar, and Garona working for the horde now?), the lore in this expansion is pretty awesome.
Why are you surprised by Rexxar? He always sided with the Horde and his title is literally "Champion of the Horde" :)
Radek Kryśko It's more his dialog about Jaina killing too many people. He also worked with Jaina in WC3, so it's just weird that alluva sudden he wants her head.
So I started leveling a troll druid, you know seemed fitting since zandalar is troll country.. And I was wondering what's the lore behind trolls being druids?
You weren't able to pick that in wotlk, so something must have changed.
I'm not positive, but I read somewhere that they draw their power from multiple Loa (being Wild Gods in this case). Typically trolls pledge themselves to a single Loa (particularly the Zandalari), hence why troll druids tend to just mingle with other druids.
Despite some Druid's attempts to correct this terminology, these troll druids are too set in their ways and continue referring to Wild Gods as Loa.
As for what could justify the sudden allowance of troll druids...uh, I guess a gradual evolution of culture amongst Darkspear trolls? Can't really say with certainty.
Gonk taught both the Zandalari and Darkspear.
Ah, thx guys. :)
Loa actually aren't fond of druids, they like being worshipped singularly. Troll druids also annoy the others calling Wild God's Loa.
Sure, but in terms of how did the trolls learn druidism, Gonk was it.
So... can Drust Druids go into the Emerald Dream or nah?
It’s not unknown where Jaina is, dude. There’s a questline to rescue her from Thros.
The 2 stories are really entangled... Where is the fight between the alliance and the horde ? Here I see internal flights...
How you doin', mon?
Why did the way crest storyline feel like Coraline
Did you guys kill Mythrax in the Zandalar forever scenario? he das only 50k hp :D
Marcus Nörren I actually hit him with a ranged attack and my lightning procced burning him for 41k before I got instant killed by poison.
41k? What ability?
I remember seeing Mogu and Hozen in Zuldazar and I was so happy to get a nice bit of MoP nostalgia.
See when I play I want to pay the full story... to me its o lu good with the lichking
Random question, no reason or evidence to support it: could the horde ever get some kind of human race? Would the alliance get some kind of forsaken race?
goblins are the most civilized race in the horde (aside from pandaren), while worgen are the least civilized in the alliance. thats probably as close as its going to get
HIREEK GRANT ME WINGS
Heb me altijd afgevraagd of je uit Nerderland komt
Yeah as dutch as they come!
@@Nobbel87 hahah, dacht ik al. Complimenten op je engels, want ik twijfelde wel. And thank you for all your great content, love your vids.
Can't wait to hear what you think of the end story for the alliance
i thought lord waycrest a good guy his wife just warped him from what his daughter said what have you done to him plus the bonus side quest where you find out that he was all for the wedding when she assassinated the guy marrying her daughter
I thought Hakkar was the blood god????
Inb4 voljin becomes loa of the horde
good because I fast leveled and didn't read the quests
Glad i am Horde. Alliance: Banished nmobledaughter comes back home, gets rejected, someoen tries to overthrow city. Horde. Motherfucking Hell on earth breaks loose.
I feel like the horde storyline and zoners are much more interesting than the alliance
leveling with crusade talented... so barbaric
Anyone else notice ashvane is wearing a heart of azeroth??
Nah azerite necklace, not a heart of azeroth unless magni has some explaining to do.
@@Nobbel87 it just made me wonder how long she has been working in all this and i haven't unlocked seige so idk if she was offered something from the lady of the deep(though she does look alot like a certain evil octopus from little mermaid)
SPOILERS!!!!!!!
otherwise why not just murder jaina instead of placing her in a secluded island ruled by the drust
I love Jaina and her story now though
I think the Alliance will lose the war...
Why?
Well, as Horde you fight Troll Armies, Old Gods and Loas.
While I questet as Alliance I had to fight Wildlife like Beavers, Woodmonsters that attack, from all places, a Lumbermill (and yet the Lumbers couldnt fight agsinst freaking Wood with all there Tools?!).
Ah and also I saw a lvl 113 Bird killing (slowly) a lvl 120 Elite guard from Kul Tiras...
"what happened sofar"
so i watched this video and your more recent one. and in this one in particular, there is a pacing problem.
this is called "the story so far" but it isn't the story so far. it is a posthoc summation of the zone's plot resolutions.
so there is political intrigues in zuldazar (or w/e the troll capital is), and for the alliance there is a combination of political intrigue and 3 zones. what and why are the zones? there is the zone with the capital city, and it is there just to give a hub for the other locations. but why do the other zones 'exist'?
in one of the archipelago there was either a biome or island of snake people (non-"naga") why were they there? also why were storm song and drustvar not in open conflict?
also wasn't there like a bee problem somewhere?
Alliance if you love pirates of the Caribbean or horde if you love black panther
Disney Factions OMEGALUL
I feel like the stories of the zones, and both factions are actually rather nice.
I am also very much looking forward how they continue with the old gods pretty early where shown in the quest zones.
The only really sad thing is how they started this add on, it just doesn't make much sense. It would have been so much better if Greymane or Jaina would be the ones who start something, which would have been very fitting considering the character developement. Or simply have N'Zoth be the one who first acted, and to be honest, the rest of the story (so far) could have been similar:
Have Talanji ask the horde for help, and you would have pretty much the same story with the horde coming to Zandalar, helping them, but also uncovering the traitors to King Rastakan.
And on the Alliance side, you also could have someone reach out to the Alliance (not Katharina herself maybe), for the Alliance and Jaina to go to Kul'Tiras, what follows would be exaclty the same as well.
Sure, you would not have the big war effort and stuff, but both factions could still consider getting another ally after they discover Azorite, bolster the forces for another confrontation.
This at the same time would not mean order halls had to fight each other right after Legion, this really doesn't make much sense. If you go for a route like that, you could have them fight each other (and have a war) a bit later, because with a little time, maybe some small reasons it would be at least a bit smoother how a war started and how order halls broke apart instead of a simple "yeah, we have war now, because of reasons"
... and I personally still hate how they again made a horde leader the bad guy. Which is pretty much ignored right now in the story it seems. Funny that is the case for both factions, actually. Sure, they do have other "problems" right now, but that it isn't mentioned by any character after the battle for Undercity is... a bit odd, isn't it.
Although we do know the horde (a second time, in the same add on) "forced" the Alliance to do something...
There would have been so many possibilities I think how they could have written this story with less issues or problems...
Good idea having closed captions. Your tone is out of sync.
