They CAN walk, but it's not easy for them and takes more energy than it does for us.
In addition to being brothers, being in captivity kind of forces you to make friends with those around you. The only other option is to fight constantly, which, unfortunately, happens in many zoos.

@@GAT-pr6dtI understand your empathy for this wild beast to be locked up, trapped. However, I might point out that this locked up animal will not have to face the trauma of a power struggle, such as they would in the real world, which leads to much pain and suffering. One other point is that with out zoos, sanctuaries, etc.,most of humankind would NEVER see these animals up close. Most of us would see only the domesticated animals from our region of the world.
