    Apparently every AK is an AK-47, a rifle made in 1947. That there is an AKM, upgraded AK-47 design from the 50's, more accurately the Zastava M70 from yugoslavia judging by the handguard. This problem also applies to the AK-74, a 1974 rifle, completely different firing system, bolt, mag, barrel and muzzle. Same look, different design.

      Didn't think it would require this much brain power to visualize what I was saying, but hey its RUclips. No I'm not saying no armor is the way to go. (Although a good argument could be made) what I am saying I most of yall think it's Warzone out here and that the bullets will always hit the plates. Armor only covers MAX 25% of your body. And also most people when their heart rate is 220 and have shit in there pants aren't gonna be stone cold aiming center mass. They are just gonna shoot at your silhouette. Which last time I checked legs lower torso, hips, arms, shoulders, and head are a part of. All very squishy, all very much when shot will inhibit your ability to stay in a fight.

    • @wight626
      @wight626 Год назад +1

      @Mandumoto the point of armor is not to take hits and stay in the fight. The point of armor is to stop a kill shot. As your fellow soilders back you up. Being shot in the heart or lungs will take you out the fight alot faster then being shot in the leg. I would never go with no armor. I litteraly can't see any reason to not wear armor. The weight is a pain but it's better to have bad knees then a rotting corpse.

      @Mandumoto Год назад +1

      @@wight626 1st, who said anything about fellow "soldiers" civilian use of armor is up a ton, and armor is no longer just limited to mil/Leo use. Second with this argument I assume you where lvl 4 plates in an IOTV in everyday life? My argument against armor is its just not applicable in 99% of life, even the smallest carriers are too big for a nuggy run. Bro, you don't have to shoot an AK from your left shoulder. The Soviets decided that since most people are right-handed, they should build a society entirely for right-handed people. If you're left-handed, you were forcibly retrained at school, but they don't do that nowadays (well at least it's not a mandatory any longer). In the case of small arms it's the same, they all have to be fired from the right shoulder, in the case of AKs, when fired from the left shoulder, shell casings and powder gas will fly into your face. You don't want to catch a hot shell casing with your teeth. The AK is not designed to be fired from the left shoulder, it doesn't mean you can't, it's just that it would be uncomfortable at best, not very safe at worst.

    The problem there is, although the rounds don't penetrate, there's still the problem of ENERGY TRANSFER which will then be transferred into the wearer's body resulting in massive bruising on the body due to massive internal hemorrhaging or bleeding which will still result in eventual death. Unless you're using anti-trauma pads of either hydrogel or, better still, aerogel to disperse & disrupt that energy transfer to the wearer's body, you're just aiming for a massive bruising that'll eventually kill you.

    Yeah, commercial-grade mild steel cartridges are not designed to defeat any kind of body armor. Try it with the original Soviet M43 round, or with an 57-N-231 military grade round (not to mention the 7N22 armor-piercing one, but that wouild be overkill IMO) that would easily penetrate that.

    First the ak sounds like a electric airsoft gun bruh lmao. The armor plate magically went from blue to red, there is a cut between each shot and he is firing with the safety on. His reload and bolt cocking is an obvious sign that he got 3 years of military service from the back of a cereal box and apparently a mag dump is semi auto and 19 bullets.

    OK for everyone that's not noticed. Why do you think these companies always use 7.62x39 for these torture tests? The answer is that it's a big slow moving rifle round, it flattens out the moment it hits and give the plate something to hold on to. Try this same test with a 9mm with +p+ ammo or a basic ass AR15 with paper punch ammo. Soft armor is not a good choice for any rifle round, it's better than nothing but not by much.
