- I know exactly where the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor was born. I have traversed the exact same course that Ford’s development engineers spent countless hours on thrashing the off-road pickup in an effort to fine tune it.
And I can guarantee you, there isn’t even a little bit of snow.
The Raptor was born in the desert, with one thing in mind: high-speed off-roading, the kind you see in the Baja 500 or the Dakar Rally.
But this truck is offered for sale all across the United States and Canada, where cold, wintery weather is a sad reality. And why should they have to miss out on the epic fun the Raptor offers just because they live where it snows?

Most capable? How can you say that? The Raptor's payload rating is so low you can't haul more than a couple of people without overloading it. This means the Raptor is nothing but a toy for children. Build a tool for men.

C S yeah its the most capable offroad truck you can buy, no other OEM truck can match is offroad performance, acceleration and luxury features.
Idk why people hate on the v6 sound. Yeah it is not deep but it still has a roaring sound to it. But what do people care more about. Sound or performance? It may be a little downer but right after it is in front of you...jaws will hit the steering wheel

I tried some Goodyear Duratracs on my truck and the difference was intense. Snow and ice were not a challenge at all.
Ford U nailed it, nobody is even close tour achievements
Now do the same with the 2018 Mustangs and the upcoming 2018 Fiesta and Focus, and its derivatives like Escape, U r good to be the best of all worlds!!

Ponygt 662 the Camaro is better than the mustang though. The upcoming focus and fiesta are still based on the old platform aren't they?
Yes totally agree with that , the new Camaro is an awesome machine, but the 2018 Mustang will be definitely one to watch out for, see not everybody are fond of Camaros ergonomics and tight cabin, the mustang though not the best performer has a way better livable space and much better ergonomics
SO the 2018 one with new 5.0 with 455 HP engine and new Sport Pack that includes Magne Ride dampers and new coil over struts will be closer to the current 1LE and will bridge the gap between Fords own GT350 and Mustang GT , this in turn will help Ford price the GT350 a tad higher as well in future
The Fiesta nd Focus are based on Fords global B and Global C platform, both of which are still worlds best FWD platforms, the global C is not as good as VWs MQB, still its by far worlds best chassis, not even Mercedes has a better B,C chassis than Fords B,C chassis
The Global C of Ford is loosely based on Mazdas 3 chassis as well, so I hope U get the point,
The thing with the tires is just needing to let some air out. Ford sends out the Raptors with 50psi in the tires so drop them bad boy BFGs down to about 30psi and you'll do just fine on ice

I was happy he commented on the tires. Unlike the truck I can afford the tires, I think I'll stick with my Dynapro AT-Ms for now!

NEWS ALERT... you can drift a Raptor on snow. How about reviewing the stability control and traction control for real world driving. How effective is the ABS or is it like ice skating? You know, give us some info... Is it better in snow than a Jeep? Subaru? Lariat?

What a complete Truck. Ram, and Chevy better pay attention. Ford owns them with the Raptor. Only problem is. It is so hard to buy. Expensive, but great stuff usually is. Rare is another. I could buy an FX4 4 x 4 , and trick it out. Problem with that, it won't be as refined as the Raptor. Also, when I change stuff, I void the warranty. So answer keeps coming up Raptor. The Ram is on a different mission. It does not do what the Raptor can do. Also, the Ram is old as dirt underneath. Chevy, and Ford are new. That Ecoboost V6 sounds like a pissed off Dad of Dyson, rather than a powerful engine it really is. Inside, the seats are great. The Dashboard is a mix of Tonka toy, and Ford Corporate. Love it, or hate it. It is there. Fit, and Finish are pretty good, but still needs more quality at this price. All in all, if I won the Lottery, this truck would be my go to truck. It is truly amazing. No wonder you picked it as truck of the year. Ford did a great job on what is their reason for being. Making a great truck, even greater. Cheers.

How is a corvette mid life crisis but a raptor is not ?? Most corvettes will never see the track and are just for looks and most raptors will never see a pre run through the desert. Two peas in a pod really

Snow and sand are pretty similar surfaces if you think about it. Both loose and soft and the same driving style is required for both.
He mentioned the tires and snow rating. He said the compound of the stock tires compliment sand more than snow.
Definitely pro review. I would like to see him review the Fiesta, a Mini Cooper, Smart Car, Miata, or basically an episode on fuel efficient compacts.

Meh, I didn't see anything in this video I couldn't handle in my Outback, heck, most of this could have been done while driving a Honda. Racing around on a plowed road or packed snow isn't real world conditions. I see people riding their bicycles on roads like this here in Colorado. The Raptor may dominate the desert but its going to have a hard time dashing through the snow while off roading. That is coming from a long time Raptor owner who has lived in both the desert and the Rocky Mountains.
I'd have to win the lottery to buy one.....it would be a toss up between this or a Toyota Tundra crew max TRD off road...I think the tundra can tow more though.

love the design, love the capability, but i do not like the ricer sound, the sub-par interior carried over from the F150 (which is behind its competitors in the material / quality department), the fact that there is no V8 option, the fact that the engine is fundamentally the same as the currently 3.5L which has not been the best for reliability or real world MPG.
Do not give me the information while I'm looking for how does it handle on the snow and ice how does it perform does it work good does it handle the normal work condition as it works truck up in Alaska you're not giving the information with some people are looking for

You can not do a review, you only think you do. Why are going so fast in the snow? Suggesting this truck can go really fast in the snow is setting up some of viewers try the same.That's dangerous. It's crazy how fast this truck is? Why are you stating the truck is really fast, showing taking off like an idiot in snow. Yet you said you already talked about the truck ad nausea. So why are you mentioning it again? When are you going to admit you like Fords over Tundras and that is why you mention (repeat) the Ford yet again. I saw your review of the Tundra. I saw you try to destroy a brand new 4Runner in that ice. Why have you not done that with a Ford? I bet you were major disappointed when that 4 Runner wouldn't break down. I saw you try to get a 4runner to gain more traction. You moved the wheel left, the 4Runner would slip. You pointed the wheels straight and the 4runner wouldn't gain traction. You turned the wheel to the right, the truck started to pull itself out and you immediately turned the wheels left again and the truck failed to get out. You then dinged the 4Runner for it's failure. You are not believable. You don't do real reviews. You think doing donuts in a truck somehow says something. So what if it can do donuts, so can the 4Runner. So go home and finish the dinner dishes.

I tell you, these Ecoboost V6s sounds like crap. Unless they're first gen owners, off-road clubs shouldn't invite Raptor owners to any gatherings, tell them to go to a leaf blower rally or something more of their like.
lol I had one blow by me the other day sounded like a Kirby vaccum. Yeah my truck is slower no doubt (300 hp 2005) but it's just a pleasure to hear with a borla xs on it hehe. Chevy and ram really need to make a twin or supercharged truck.
