G87 wins on pretty much everything: Engine, Chassis, Interior and Tech but, loses on Exterior Design compared to the F87 M2 Comp IMO. I suppose an argument could be put forward for a DCT as opposed to a traditional converter automatic transmission and that M2 is becoming a bit of a "porker" with every new model released. It does have a face only a mother could love and a backside an Obstetrician needs to slap!
It's a great car. You can drive it every day, you can go shopping with it. You can tour with it. You can take it to the track. If you don't plan to do track days I wouldn't buy it, and you are right, it doesn't feel as heavy as it is. Great every day car you can track. If you live in the country you can enjoy it every day!
0:59 its been noted that the F87 had actually better headroom than the G87. Leg space is relatively the same but since the G87 has a lower slopped rear window it leave less space for your passengers in the back
I get the weight concern but having owned the car now for 6months I can confirm it’s a non-issue. The car doesn’t feel at all heavy, the front end is razor sharp and you can push it so easily.
The G87 M2 must be the most covered vehicle in the UK… I feel like 80% of the new M2 videos in RUclips are. Nothing wrong, I actually want one here in America. I wonder how rare a left-hand drive is going to be at the end of the model run. Or perhaps all M2s in the UK are press cars…
Before I watch the video, I will answer the question. I have a stock 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8 that doesn't have much potential. I've been driving it since 2017 or 2018. If I had the money, I would sell my car and buy a G87 M2. Is it worth the upgrade? Yes.
You are just not the audience the original F87 catered for. And I’m not the type of audience this car is made for. It’s really as simple as that. For me, this car is way way too heavy. It’s fugly. In a way, it’s plainly boring. You can’t enjoy it on nice curvy roads because of the power and stability. You are way over the speed limit before you feel any excitement. Yeah, it might be better for highway, maybe track (although it will be insanely more expensive to track than the old F87) but in no way it’s a better car for country backroads. Shame.
better than a porsche? no. But then again, what BMWs are? The G87 has the deadest steering I've ever experienced. Like turning a spoon in peanutbutter. The brake feel is spongy and inert, which is odd since it is brake-by-wire. They could have made it feel however they wished. My G87 is a nice commuter car with some quickness. I won't bother autocrossing or tracking it. Nice, but let's not fool ourselves.
i love this video, it focuses on the driving, which is what MATTERS for a car.

@@philipp-90 G87 is just far better car

The yellow DRL Lights are aftermarket only... They are not optional.
another informative review Jay, keep up the amazing content, love the drone footage
And when that black F87 pop up 🔥
Great car , hard to find better value for money, much better car than F87

what spoiler does your friend have on there?
Its a CS spoiler from AutoID
I'm not a fan of the CLAR BMW approach because it made the G87 as heavy and big as the G80, but that S58 is tempting. What a beast of a motor
They made it work so well. The weight definitely makes the car feel more solid

Great review.
Nice review!
Do you think it is a big upgrade from F87 M2 Comp?
It is a top car ❤
massive depreciation, £15k in 1-2000 miles wow
F87 incomplete? Elaborate.

Big financial gap though

wow, you seem like an optimistic person who enjoys his blessings well! Nice.
When you are pushing hard on track it all makes sense and comes together as a package. Bit of a waste buying an M2 and never tracking it.
Lol wut. Just say you hate how it looks and are a Porsche fan.
Wil u buy a ferrari made in asia? Stil M made in Germany by german is prefer..
lol, while you are wasting your time pondering on that, people who own this car are enjoying and loving every minute of it. Life’s too short.
NO IT IS NOT!!! Looks like a corolla with a very bad body kit!!! I believe the car should look as good as it performs. This is a fail!!!
Nah
