Jeremy decided that he was going to favor quality over quantity when it comes to AR-15s. So instead of buying a bunch of cheaper rifles, he would get one high quality, American made rifle that can take some abuse. That rifle is the Type-A Rifle Co. 14.5" Contractor. It's a short-stroke piston rifle built almost entirely in house by BG Defense and retails at $2,899.

Why do these rifles cost so much and why no qd mounts on the rail? Prices of rifles have skyrocketed well beyond the inflation rate. Great video btw.

I recently got their 13.7 Pro and love it. I run a SiCo can on it and couldn’t be happier. Have gone through one class with it so far, and doing a 4 day class with it this fall.

Great video 👍 Got my 13.7 Contractor shipping any day now. I'm guessing it's well worth the wait and I am also guessing that it's a bit heavy considering there are no weight specs that I've found on their website.

I own the pro, wasn't able to get the contractor with full ambi, but its cool. Guys BG Defense is super cool, very good customer service always wrote back and answered my calls. This rifle is built right.

Did the magpul rail covers keep you from burning your hand? I got a contractor this month and the gas system gets insanely hot with a few rounds. Same rail, pw to 16”.
I'm actually loving this gray look. I'm trying to guess which cerakote colors they used here. I want to say Tungsten on the handguard with that metallic in it. I just started talking to them last week and have been indecisive on which handguard and what color I want. Multi FDE looks sweet, this one looks great, their ODG is really nice and they have a Multi ODG option that I can't find any examples of.

Thanks! I don't keep the LPVO on at the house. I keep it simple with a red dot only. The Vortex the American Defense mount with quick detach so I can slap it on pretty easy when I go to the range or use it for a video. Thanks for asking!
They way overprice their rifles. Having shot one they are definitely not worth their price. You can buy a super duty and Cerokote it for less. You can get a piston lwrc for less. Shit for 100 bucks more you can get a damn LMT. They use parallax tactical hand guards that can be bought for dirt cheap. They upcharge for no reason. They are no better than Triarc just get some guntubbers to do some positive reviews on their guns and keep selling over priced guns to people that don’t know better.
They claim to manufacture their own rails. Is that not the case?
There are very few parts not made in-house, and the handguard isn't one of them.
Their handguards are not made in house. They're from parallax tactical. I have the 13.7 Contractor and discovered that they used a Ballistic Advantage standard 13.7 barrel and not the the Hanson. Aesthetically it's beautiful but I was disappointed a bit for the price. Also being a lefty I prefer slick side uppers for the same reason, I busted my knuckles charging the rifle several times. I perfer my SLR Rifleworks to this. At least it came with a Criterion Barrel and slick side upper for $70 less than I paid for my Contractor and the wait time was only 2 weeks including Cerakote. Since I live in Fl I was able to drive to Orlando and pick it up.

I believe that the type three hardcoat Anodizer then they Cerakote over it radiant didn’t try doing that a couple years ago but had some issues so they chose with cerakote
I am a lefty myself for the most part I’m just waiting for radians popper to come in so I can put my 416R noveske 10.5 300 barrel in the upper and I’ll end u w a Radian 1.5 as it’s got Noveake barrel , Geissele sd3g trigger , super 42 braided buffer system and ddc anodized tube and gunnna run a surefire sps suppressor and might go with a mod light with a surefire DS 00 dual tail cap of switch fails as they do since lots of power go thru it and almost likely go on the medium range but with high life output my niece go pro only has 500 my scout pro has 1500 when using the dual fuel 18650 surefire Rerecharge no my sub is sure fire light seven switch momentary button and I also will have the push button on the tail cap in case it fails or want to have the light on if I’m holding someone at the same gunpoint in my houses or something yeah far is a half day this barrel is a 300 so it’s a 10.5 so you’re getting a decent amount of ballistics out of it and their barrels are stupid accurate you can tell the quality and craftsmanship that went into it I got it probably been a couple days I am happy that i Will have to torch the radian upper as with the title renters it will not fit unless you heat those threads and that really helps with accuracy when the barrel just slips in then it’s on you to tighten that down light correctly to the proper spec is if you over target you could do a whole number of problems by making the firearm a sub minute to a three minute gun or worse obviously I want to slip a girl and it tightens it back down so it basically it’s a thermal fit JP Enterprises does the same thing and there’s still the barrel nut I will tighten to where I feel is appropriate per their instructions because the time they’ll say 40 to 80 pounds of torque or a blah blah blah they say 40 to 80 I am will just stay on the lower end especially if it’s a super tight fit but if I notice issues a number of problems and that’s why you want to get your barrel head spaced and you will have a bolt that goes in there like a kid supposed to least to random BCG where the saami specs And get pressure fluctuations what you do not want you want the same pressure every time but as far as like an optic I’m not sure I have not tried mod light yet and I might go with unity pressure switch or do you a koala defensive now with my dear sir having set up and then that works as a wire control so it takes like 4 inches the wire and integrated into the sides of it if you don’t know what I’m talking about look it up they’re pretty cool and work well for wire control and keeping your pressure switch in place i’m thinking of an NX8 on a 1.93 for the scope mount it’s gonna either be badger ordinance Geissele or unity end it in black I have a lower complete with some ddc On it like tube and grip i’ll probably use flat dark earth grips for the Mlok
Personally I think reading should be a different one on one that maybe the rails a little bit different has some integrated Picatinny like the MK four or the MK 13 specially out front especially if you’re forced to run and I ordered but it’s on the side
But now we have the BEA Myers mawl Which is probably gonna be my go to as it seems pretty simple as far as it’s actuation and you don’t need pressure switches and stuff and then you won’t like a D by accident and it’s just yeah If you don’t have access to any form of the night vision there’s no reason to buy a super or any IR device first have the access denied vision whether it a single PVS 14 you can still train with that is it gonna be the same as quad not at. Alll and no you can’t see everything it’s not like the game video games or reviews is very grainy and sort of the way it works with magnifies the illumination from the moon and the stars and there’s also thermal night vision that’s different but since we left so many IR devices in Afghanistan optic systems are getting taller because of the need for passive aiming especially in your combat and conflict as if you put on your IR the enemy has night vision also and if your last selling your IRA night or some thing in Ukraine for example you’re gonna get your ass killed by a Russian fucking drive but no nothing United States by just for The red laser that’s only used to say hey you need to listen to the commands otherwise bad shit will happen. Trying to get somewhere out of a compound what not and Afghanistan for example there’s a shit ton of dialects the same goddamn languages which caused a lot of problems but now you have if I can get my hands on a NGAL I’ll go for that over in the bee meyers but those are probably God knows how much for a full power civilian is closed but you’re legally allowed to have full power it’s just like for example eorwch started making their own not l3 that was their parent company now they’re making themselves now they do look pretty sweet probably decent price and I’m not sure But after 193 high offset RMR and I have a 128FP but one to have a better one to eight as a model 1.5 ;) deserves and since radians are meant for accuracy sorta but u do want a 416r barrel for extreme accuracy as I’ve seen a radian a10.5 hit over an over a plate at 700 you can’t rely on our PBL you need to really count for when did you definitely passed 300 so I’d say will get shot with heavier rounds but it is really speaks for itself as the dude like you don’t need to pull the gun just get a radian or build one of his most people don’t use the exact muzzle device they put on there some glue as you can pretty sure fire whatever muzzle device you want if you buy it if you build it it’ll probably make it a little cheaper unless you spend a shit ton of money on the barrel like myself but I want to have a quality stainless barrel that is going to last long and my barrel is similar lot if not same as what dev group is. Using (noveske 10.5 shorties in 556 and 300) and 3 weeks my radian Ull be built and I’ll give update on my smithing skills and noveskes sweet barrel

Optic nx8 and offset acro or rmr offset or top not sure as it would be this is your under nods with top mounted red dot or a clip on what it might be but it would be really good for hogs a front mounted NV for scope ? Really interested in the razor as the NX8 is a very robust feeling and like 1500 for Black or FDE and there’s a Mrad which I prefer rather than your standard BBC that is what Tim on her when I hold her so I don’t know looking about the straight Guy whore FFP there’s nothing wrong with it I just think that a five $6000 rifle approximately deserves it glasses amazing clarity the wax is amazing my rant is done anyone have any ideas for a model 1 10.5 with they noveske 416 r stainless shorty and surefire warcomp and I have to ship it out as the suppressor will fit very very loose similar to K 18 5/8 x 24 thread pitch with just gotta shim it out but if you are looking at doing a live in build. To save a lot of money and you can put a better about them and what they give you in the hair and that will last much longer and serve 5 to 10,000 rounds are getting something along the lines of 20,000 or more before I need to grading an accuracy with a high fire schedule and that’s one reason that they’re using select fire shorties and I did not like wait I choose the regular contour type where is a little bit thicker at the end but does taper a little bit but remember they do use a proprietary gas block not any will fit down there this is very tight all the tolerances especially on this barrel are tight I’m still having issues with the gas tube roll pin and haven’t fucked w the dowel yet. Both seem to be like they’re in a trade it which kind of makes it a little hard to get the two seated which is never been a problem Brijesh up and like I can do it I gotta go to a Internet certified as I am not yet And sdi I am on my way shortly

Saw a good video today comparing velocity achieved from 7 different barrel lengths. Surprised that a 11.5 barrel loses about 400 fps compared with a 16". (~ammo dependent obv.)

But seriously if you do I am build where by the hit build it using a barrel that’s going to last I watched a RUclips video guy putting in a criterion core barrel on his radian end he was shooting smoothbore basically by who is the original bear all that the blanks come in that radian turns I believe they have a very small partnership with JP enterprises as a remote fitting is something they both have and do and they do use JP‘s I think polished buffer spring and that’s why doesn’t have too much of it to hang into it but I’d still go for the super 42 is what is in my radian lower and a model one is a model one as far as I know it’s not an ar15 it’s a radian model 1 …. Seriously 30 positions is freaking stupid. Only need 2-5 gas positions.. They are pretty cool rifles but I really don't like their ambi lowers. I like the new sig sdi style ambi lower, griffin mk2 ambi lower and pof p415 ambi lower the best.
