Everyone says this every year, realistically for marvel its either 2019 or 2027 and DC it is actually 2025, but just becuase Superman: Legacy is what the entire DCU is depending on
I think they are both 2025. 2027 is too late to be important, 2027 will fail if 2025 and 2026 don’t go well. Same for 2019, it’s all about the build up. 2025 is more important for marvel than 2017-18 because people were positive for marvel back then. Now marvel need to win back trust which makes the year so important

It's kinda sad that DC is basically the black sheep of superhero movies. They are the reason it got big in the first place. Without Richard Donner and Christopher Nolan, superhero movies wouldn't be where they are today. DC paved the way for Marvel.
This is a very important year for both marvel and DC. For DC, its the start of an entirely new universe. Its fate, lies in Supermans hands. We live in a world where box office dictates what gets made, so it 100% matters, probably more than positive reviews and reception

Marvel does not need to return to its interconnected universe, as this was the entire reason people became burnt out on superhero films in the first place. This is widely proven by the least MCU-connected projects being the most well-received. What all superhero films truly need going forward is an emphasis on world-building rather than focusing on a rigid shared storyline-something the DC universe is promising to deliver. Furthermore, with how jaded and negative superhero films and world news have generally become, people are hungrier than ever for a symbol of hope like Superman. In summary, unless Marvel truly tries to create projects outside of its shared storyline and brings back the individual touch that filmmaking provides, then I'm not buying it.
Nah not an important year for Marvel- they have Secret Wars and Doomsday coming out next year these movie will have zero impact on that. People like u never learn they’ve been saying that about MCU for a decade now- super fatigue then Spider-Man comes out- superhero fatigue then Wakanda Forver- superhero fatigue then Deadpool & Wolverine and here u go again… just never learn!! For DC though, YES!! It’s a very crucial year. They are in a way different spot than MCU it’s not even comparable U put a pic of Little Mermaid - are u aware that movie was the 6th highest grossing film the year it came out!
Little mermaid barely made double its budget which is usually the key to making a profit due to marketing costs, my point was not that it didn’t make money but it was not as financially successful as other Disney remakes
@ I appreciate the civil discourse in the comments it’s nice and refreshing! Here’s the breakdown Profit Disney's share of the box office was $284.8 million After deducting its net spending of $240.2 million, Disney's profit was $44.6 million They probably expected more and compared to some other releases maybe it’s not the best but no studio is turning their now at 40M in profits this isn’t a bomb by any means and every other studio would beg to have this result. The bar for Disney keeps moving they aren’t judged the same. Factors, like home release sales, merchandising, and DVD/Blu Ray sales, generate even more profit. Disney has this advantage with theme parks and merchandising to make even more profits too
Why not for marvel? They had a better year last year than previously and this year needs to be good to set up the excitement for Avengers next year, if this year goes badly it’s not a good start for the Avengers movies
True but I think this year will massively impact excitement for the Avengers films. If all the movies this year are bad, people won’t see Avengers even if it’s good
@CINEMAZE eeah if ALL MOVIES are bad then instead of 2B for avengers it will be 1B.
Now DC times😂
Nah not an important year for Marvel- they have Secret Wars and Doomsday coming out next year these movie will have zero impact on that. People like u never learn they’ve been saying that about MCU for a decade now- super fatigue then Spider-Man comes out- superhero fatigue then Wakanda Forver- superhero fatigue then Deadpool & Wolverine and here u go again… just never learn!!
For DC though, YES!! It’s a very crucial year. They are in a way different spot than MCU it’s not even comparable
U put a pic of Little Mermaid - are u aware that movie was the 6th highest grossing film the year it came out!
Little mermaid barely made double its budget which is usually the key to making a profit due to marketing costs, my point was not that it didn’t make money but it was not as financially successful as other Disney remakes
@ I appreciate the civil discourse in the comments it’s nice and refreshing! Here’s the breakdown
Profit
Disney's share of the box office was $284.8 million
After deducting its net spending of $240.2 million, Disney's profit was $44.6 million
They probably expected more and compared to some other releases maybe it’s not the best but no studio is turning their now at 40M in profits this isn’t a bomb by any means and every other studio would beg to have this result. The bar for Disney keeps moving they aren’t judged the same.
Factors, like home release sales, merchandising, and DVD/Blu Ray sales, generate even more profit. Disney has this advantage with theme parks and merchandising to make even more profits too
For DC yes, for marvel not really
Why not for marvel? They had a better year last year than previously and this year needs to be good to set up the excitement for Avengers next year, if this year goes badly it’s not a good start for the Avengers movies
@CINEMAZE they're going to release 3 movies. They can afford one bust as long as the other 2 deliver. With DC, there's only one shot
For me fantastic four is at 1st place....
I think with a trailer I will get even more excitement and it will get higher up my rank
@CINEMAZE agree
Starwars: XD
They aren’t even in the conversation nowadays
I think that 2026 will be more important for marvel, because if avengers fail then it is over if they succseed thenit is completw back and rise
True but I think this year will massively impact excitement for the Avengers films. If all the movies this year are bad, people won’t see Avengers even if it’s good
@CINEMAZE eeah if ALL MOVIES are bad then instead of 2B for avengers it will be 1B. Agree
But thunderbolts has reportetly good test screenings, cap 4 tracks good in box office to be a hit because of its small budget, fantastic four are looking too great athou we haven't heard of any test screenings.... i think that 2025 eill be a win for marvel and so i hope for
Agree I’m hoping that too
@@Grand_Master12312When you add marketing it's at least 280 million, that's not really a small budget. The Avengers movies are already spending tons of money on RDJ and the Russos alone so they do need to do the numbers the previous ones made.
@user-ku7ww3nn6i it will be expensive athou i am not sure if tge marketing would go over 200M
The fact the trash Superman with the ugly actor and the horrible trailer is your #1 hyped makes me realize your opinions mean nothing and that I wasted 12 mins watching this garbage
Thanks for the 12 mins of engagement and comments
Captain America will flop and be trash. Superman will be next level loved and F4 will slap too!
I’m not excited for Thunderbolts because of taskmaster, MCU task master is a travesty
Agree it’s a very uninteresting take on the character and she’s the least interesting member of the team (and seems likely to die) but the other characters are interesting enough to me
