when going into front camera it activates a factor two beauty filter you have to manually turn off. i've seen only one youtuber mention this out of LOTS of them. not saying s10 is better now but it might add up.
Maybe for people, but daylight scenery based on this vid s10 look a lot better cuz the pixel really crush out the shadows making the pics look gloomy. Plus s10 is a better video camera, so for me s10 is better overall
all smartphone take photos with only one cam... the others cameras are for portrait mode or wide angle. most of the photos you take with a smartphone with multiple cameras are taken with one camera like google, not the 3 or 2 at the same time.
you probably dont give a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can watch all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother lately :)
I feel like pixel camera is better (Sharper and colors are a lot more accurate) and later you can edit the photo how you prefer increasing contrast and saturation if wish so
I think that's a very valid point. For both camera's day shots one should be able to tweak contrast/saturation etc. without much trouble but S10 night shots there may not be much opportunity to tweak, if they are too dark.
The Galaxy S10 looks just terrible at 0:59 , extremely artificial with extreme HDR halo and the snow doesn't look white anymore. The shadows are also unrealistically bright.
Samsung has a good camera and video with good stabilization (OIS) but for me, Pixel wins. Just true scenery, no kind of edits are made and just a single camera! Thumbs up (y)
but the quality of the pictures depend in main lens and this video compare the main lens(except for portrait s10 used the telephoto lens so the comparison is fair
in a way, the Pixel photos are all edited considering it's multiple photos stacked together. They do look nice, but slightly too much black crush at times.
Wow, really good comparison. My opinion: Daytime: S10 by a bit cause it's more realistic with more detail, but Pixel looks absolutely stunning. Lowlight: Pixel far ahead (Maybe changes with software update on S10) Portrait: Pixel shots look better and sharper but Edge detection is better on the S10 Selfies: Pixel looks a lot better than S10, sharper, better Dynamic Range just great. Daytime-Video: S10 crushes the Pixel, and wins by far. Nighttime-Video: Draw, some shots turn out to be better on both. Selfie-Video: No chance for the Pixel, the S10 DESTROYS the Pixel with a great resolution and really good colours. Conclusion: The Pixel has the Edge in Photography, especially for selfies and low light, but the Samsung S10 really takes the cake for recording video at the front and rear facing cameras. I'm actually a photographer and that's what we steer clear from. A photographer wants what's closest to a RAW image. Not what's overshadowed with loss of detail.
- Pixel wins 100-0 when photographing people. - Pixel wins 1000-0 on night time. - Regular daytime landscapes... 50/50 - Video recording pretty much 50/50, maybe Samsung has a little edge over Pixel. - Pixel wins selfies 100-0
I honestly prefer the S10 for both photos and video. The only area where the Pixel 3 is still better imo is selfies. For some reason, Samsung still seems to have a problem with getting their HDR to work in Live Focus mode and Samsung has that annoying beautification effect on faces.
The S10 looked like it was still doing HDR and it was creating some really nasty haloing going on in some of the pictures. Something I haven't seen anyone mention about the Pixel 3 is that the in phone photo editor is extremely powerful and it gives you the option to edit the second you take the picture. Makes me think Google was really gearing their camera to combat apps like VSCO camera and Instagram photo editor.
does s10 applies a beauty filter automatically when it detects a face ? on s10 i see a lot of texture details on walls but on the faces all the skin texture is gone
The Super steady feature on the S10 is something that you did not mention yes its only 1080p but it is such a great feature that it would have been worth touching on.

Good review, but again, night mode on every pic is not practical.... Takes too long and cannot be used for any slightly moving objects. You should post some pics in indoor/ artificial lighting conditions, where generally most people take pics
I somewhat agree with you, the night sight isn't practical in a lot of situations...it takes 2-4 seconds to take a picture vs 0.05 seconds to take a picture with the other phone.
I took some photos yesterday with the S10 und the Pixel 2. All indoors in artifical light. And unfortunately I prefered the Pixel photos all the time. I really wanted to switch to the S10 and so I was hoping that the camera is at least as good as the Pixel 2 camera. But it isn´t. In some cases it´s a close battle, but when it comes to selfies or to low light, the S10 has no chance. I prefer the sharpness and the colours of the Pixels. Most of the S10 Photos are - in my opinion - too warm and too bright. And somehow ... well ... not really blurred, but not as sharp as I want them. And I miss contrast. Don´t get me wrong, the S10 doesn´t have a bad camera at all. But it´s not as good as I was hoping. Some of the pictures might look better at first sight, but those pictures doesn´t look real. More like playing around with some Snapchat beauty filters.
@@OmarZ77 i agree. It's not a long exposure of 4+ seconds etc. It's a succession of pictures and the results are amazing. Can't go back to anything worse after using it on the Pixel 2 XL
I would have gotten the pixel but it is way overpriced for a phone that only has 4 gigs of ram and a max 128gb drive and a small battery. Basically it's just a camera. I got the s10 and it has 8gb of ram and 512 drive with an option for a 1tb drive lol also with 12 GB of ram. Lol. And my battery always lasts me into the second day which is amazing. And the hdr10 on videos is crazy good. I compared it to my wife's x and it smokes it.

1:46 why does the picture of person look so smooth and not detail on the S10.... software processing of Scene Optimizer? Scene Optimizer on?....if Scene Optimizer turned off is it the same?..... Btw....here is my thought I was preferred the colour on the S10 for day time....and also better for video recording But Pixel 3 is still the king of selfie ...Samsung still need to improve the front camera... because it's look like there is beautify effect a little bit and it is to bright in my opinion
1:45 The face details on the S10 have been smoothed out so much ! Pixel is way better here. Samsung's looks artificial ! Question: which one has more natural color reproduction here ?
Redskull which one has more natural color reproduction in this particular photo ? Also, if I'm not wrong the iPhone Xs did the same for selfies right ?
@@RedskullPro Especially for the selfies it definitely looks like some form of smoothening is inherently embedded within the camera. Video recording on the S10 looked amazing though.
I thought about it many times...but I kind of want people to form their own opinion. What I like and prefer isn't necessarily what other people like... so...I'm not sure how I could make the videos more useful
Thanks again for a great video Alex. In general the light and exposure looks good of the S10 during day time and portrait as well. Portrait loses details though and you could still change the exposure of the Pixel Pictures, but if details are lost as in the S10... Night and in general the picture quality is just a class of it's own of the Pixel
Pixel 3 is 5 months old and still takes better pictures than Samsung's brand new phone. The fact that new phones are still comparing their pictures to Google's phone speaks volumes. I'll be getting the Pixel 4 when it is released, no doubt!!
Great review as always... For me the S10 is better in day time - which was a bit of surprise for me - and better in video capture day and night. Pixel 3 was better in portrait, night shots and selfie
You should use Pixel Night Sight even in daylight to get better dynamic range, and normal mode to get more dramatic contrast. But nothing beat S10 wide angle camera and that is the feature people will need more than night Sight.
You need to put the Google camera APK on the S10 and then you’ll have the perfect camera. Daytime the S10 crushed the Pixel but the Pixel destroyed the S10 at night. Great video thanks Alex!

Great Video!. In my opinion Pixel 3 gives the better results overall, best day and night pictures from both front and rear camera, good vídeo and sound (once they fixed its sound issue). Maybe in video not as good as the Samsung, especially the front camera video, but once again, OVERALL Pixel 3 is better.....what is a pity because I think S10 is an overall better smartphone. In my case I like photography so much and have been trying to decide between these too beasts for a long time. Maybe if Pixel 3 had 6GB of RAM it would be easier to decide....haha!. If the price of Pixel 3 continue going down I will probably get it.... but hoping for Pixel 4 this fall ! I think daytime pictures in S10 looks a slightly overexposed and have kind of yellow tint, so I prefer Pixels exposure and white balance.
Great video! I feel like S10 might be better in perfect conditions with plenty of light however it's falling behind as soon as the environment changes for worse. I think we use smartphone cameras mostly in non ideal lighting, that's why I think Pixel package is soo much better. I feel I can trust Google that whenever I want to take a snap I will get a decent result. Also remember that Pixel 4 will quite possible just crush whatever comes out this year, well at least I hope so ;)
The daytime were almost a toss up. In some cases the sky looked better in the Pixel, even if not realistic. The night belongs 100% to the Pixel and the video was also a toss up. Although the front facing cam on the google is superior. I sldo noticed that the Pixel audio was a tiny bit more crisp.
For me the pixel images just look sharper, that’s what I like in my images so I’m going for the pixel. These days however you can’t go wrong with any top tier phone.
definitely, pixel3 used the night sight mode while gs10 hasn't updated the super night sight mode. I don't mean it's unfair or whatever. the auto mode pictures are pretty decent and at daytime s10 has more dynamic range. i just wonder what happen if night sight mode comes up with galaxy s10.

What mode are the pics taken on pixel? Hdr+ off, hdr+ on or hdr+ enhanced? This can affect how the image looks.
hdr+ enhanced for all the pictures during the day, night sight for everything at night
S10 just lower the contrast and shadows but i like pixel 3 , more like what a professional photographer does . Shadows play a huge role in a pic
I'm actually a photographer and that's what we steer clear from. A photographer wants what's closest to a RAW image. Not what's overshadowed with loss of detail.
Pixel should work on design, rest is best
- Pixel wins 100-0 when photographing people.
- Pixel wins 1000-0 on night time.
- Regular daytime landscapes... 50/50
- Video recording pretty much 50/50, maybe Samsung has a little edge over Pixel.
- Pixel wins selfies 100-0
Thx for sharing!
I honestly prefer the S10 for both photos and video. The only area where the Pixel 3 is still better imo is selfies. For some reason, Samsung still seems to have a problem with getting their HDR to work in Live Focus mode and Samsung has that annoying beautification effect on faces.
Exactly. Well you can download the google camera apk ahahaha there's no problem with the camera anyways
S10 is close to perfection the only problem is the front cam and no more
The S10 looked like it was still doing HDR and it was creating some really nasty haloing going on in some of the pictures.
Something I haven't seen anyone mention about the Pixel 3 is that the in phone photo editor is extremely powerful and it gives you the option to edit the second you take the picture. Makes me think Google was really gearing their camera to combat apps like VSCO camera and Instagram photo editor.
That is very true, you can edit the pictures without opening any other app
does s10 applies a beauty filter automatically when it detects a face ? on s10 i see a lot of texture details on walls but on the faces all the skin texture is gone
yes, there is some skin smoothing even with the beauty effect turned off
Samsung have updated the camera settings, exposure and skin smoothing, is mutch better now
I didn't get any updates in the past 5 days
Ok, i have seen that other youtubers have talked about an update that fixed the smooth selfies and stuff like that.
Wow. This guy hairline is the iphine notch inspiration.
Pixel for night mode and color accuracy. Samsung for rest. I guess I may have just agreed with you! It happens.
I also added a couple of extra selfies just for you!
The Super steady feature on the S10 is something that you did not mention yes its only 1080p but it is such a great feature that it would have been worth touching on.
Personally I never film anything in 1080P... that's the reason why I didn't mention it
@@RedskullPro I watched your Gcam video as well it really enhances the optics if you have a build that is stable. I've been using a great build on my Note 9. Without question the addition of the app makes the Note 9 dollar for dollar feature for feature the best phone on the market imo. Thanks for the content great stuff it's nice to see creators in Canada!
Agree with you
Thanks for your great work 👍
Thank you very much!
I took Pictures with Night Sight of people walking and it works great considering how long it processes.
Only the 3Xl pixel with a wide-angle lens, it would be the King ..!
Amazing camera comprision keep it up as always
As always, thank you very much for watching!
To me it looked like the portrait photos at the end were airbrushed on the s10 side
Great detailed comparison. For me I'd go with pixel's realistic colors all the way. Thank you so much for this awesome video.
Thanks for checking it out!
Hi, great videos. Can you do a comparison with the S9 and S10?
Thank you
hi, I didn't keep the S9
GALAXY S10 DID A PRETTY GOOD JOB THERE BUT I LOVE MY PIXEL 3 XL.
Night time isn't even a battle. S10 got smoked
Great video👍
Thanks for checking it out!
S10 review in metro 2033, love the video btw. Keep up the good and hard work 🍻
If Pixel 3 this good then Pixel 4 is a killer. Getting Pixel 4 from Huawei Mate 10.
Da, nici mie nu imi place asa mult gaura aia in ecran...
1:46 why does the picture of person look so smooth and not detail on the S10.... software processing of Scene Optimizer? Scene Optimizer on?....if Scene Optimizer turned off is it the same?.....
Btw....here is my thought
I was preferred the colour on the S10 for day time....and also better for video recording
But Pixel 3 is still the king of selfie ...Samsung still need to improve the front camera... because it's look like there is beautify effect a little bit and it is to bright in my opinion
1:21 the Pixel seems to look nicer here :) Is that with the camera zoom or is that just cropping in?
Great video my friend!
1:45 The face details on the S10 have been smoothed out so much ! Pixel is way better here.
Samsung's looks artificial !
Question: which one has more natural color reproduction here ?
yes, it does that even if the Beauty mode is totally turned off
Redskull which one has more natural color reproduction in this particular photo ?
Also, if I'm not wrong the iPhone Xs did the same for selfies right ?
a combination of two...the color of the shirt is more accurate in the s10 picture, but the face in the pixel picture
@@RedskullPro Especially for the selfies it definitely looks like some form of smoothening is inherently embedded within the camera. Video recording on the S10 looked amazing though.
@@RedskullPro Interesting !
Pixel xl wins . But dont like the notch
Perhaps it would be better to show the pictures in a category first, and only then give your opinion which is better.
I thought about it many times...but I kind of want people to form their own opinion. What I like and prefer isn't necessarily what other people like... so...I'm not sure how I could make the videos more useful
thank you for your video. It helped me decide which phone to get. I prefer the pixel over the samsung.
Excellent video! I'd go for the Pixel, but it seems to me Samsung made some great improvements in terms of image processing!
Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your opinion!
Great review as always...
For me the S10 is better in day time - which was a bit of surprise for me - and better in video capture day and night.
Pixel 3 was better in portrait, night shots and selfie
Thanks for sharing with everyone!
You should use Pixel Night Sight even in daylight to get better dynamic range, and normal mode to get more dramatic contrast.
But nothing beat S10 wide angle camera and that is the feature people will need more than night Sight.
that's true. Even HDR+ Enhanced will give more dynamic range. IDK why reviewers miss this
You need to put the Google camera APK on the S10 and then you’ll have the perfect camera. Daytime the S10 crushed the Pixel but the Pixel destroyed the S10 at night.
Great video thanks Alex!
is there a working version out yet? Link if you know of any please!
Redskull not that I know of yet. I’m sure it’s coming lol.
I tried one last night but it crashes every second picture and the Night sight isn't working
That sucks. Hopefully a stable version coming soon!
I think in 2019 buying a flagship smartphone camera is not no.1 in priority list anymore. The differences are very minimal. Battery, screen, performance, UI is what matters making a decision.
yeah, agreed
Great video man! Good job👌🏽
But I think pixel is more worth buying it. Bcuz in day time is small difference. But in the night pixels is king
Pixel 3 XL's camera takes more realistic photos. Samsung's sample photos looks like colored and powdered by hand made.
Get your eyes checked
@@carver9312 @Redskull do you let this kind of disrespectful behaviors in this beautiful channel or not? I just declared my opinion over your warm question Alex.
Pixel 3 XL the best best best 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks Mr. Alex for camera compiration 👍🏼👍🏽
Thank you very much for checking it out! Appreciated!
More of these videos are popping up showing that the Pixel 3 still aces the S10. Love it and love my P3XL 128gb model. 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻
The Pixel is still unbeatable in many ways. Not to mention that this is last year's Pixel :)
I love the Pixel's colour, clarity, portrait mode, selfie camera, and night shots, I love the Samsung wide angle, video, and daylight
Hey, thanks for sharing and checking out the video!
@@RedskullPro You're welcome! Thanks for your hard work!
Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your opinion!
best smat phone samsung galaxy s 10 and pixel xl behtr
Cambridge Ontario?
Cambridge indeed :)
Also remember that Pixel 4 will quite possible just crush whatever comes out this year, well at least I hope so ;)
Overall it looks like the Pixel does better in low light and the S10 does better in bright sunlight.
Am I the only one who put in there pin/code light the strike of lighting boltz?😂
may be 😀
pixel is better anyday
Love your videos bro....keep making...
Love from India...🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
happy to hear! Thanks for watching!👍
S10 has a software or app you can download on the play store and it shoots just like the pixel 3 . RUclips it 😜
The daytime were almost a toss up. In some cases the sky looked better in the Pixel, even if not realistic. The night belongs 100% to the Pixel and the video was also a toss up. Although the front facing cam on the google is superior. I sldo noticed that the Pixel audio was a tiny bit more crisp.
Liked before the video starts!
Great Plan!
Day Light Pic : S10
Night Time Pic : Pixel
Front Camera Pic : Pixel
Front Camera Video : S10
Portrait Mode : Pixel
Back Camera Video : Both
Thanks for sharing! I feel the same!
Bro you live which country?
Canada
@@RedskullPro nice bro, there is very cold. I live in India, summer season started here.
"I guess I'm going to let you (watch) a few more pictures" change to "I guess I'm going to let you look* at a few more pictures"
how about I say it as I please since this is my video?!
Nice review brother.
You forgot to compare the slow motion videos as well.
S10 would destroy Pixel 3 in slow mo and super slow mo videos
Yeah...gotta try to make the videos as short as possible... people don’t have patience
Thanks for watching! Did you check my last video where I used the Google Camera and Night Sight on the S10? ruclips.net/video/4KxB5lrvB_E/видео.html
s10 look is closer to hdr than to a real photo but it nice to have the shadows lifted up
5:15 beautiful notch man
here we go
I'm S10+ owner! In order to match pixel's pics just add blue (cool) (pale) tone filters and done deal! That's the only difference I noticed!
Thanks for sharing!
They are all good. Period. Thanks dude for posting all these nice comparisons!!
