PS2 can be still play online these days in 2021. You just have to change the DNS to 45.7.228.197, so that your PS2 will be connected to the private server
I found there's a DNAS Bypass Code for Socom 2 you can look at. If you type DNAS Bypass Code PS2 in Google on your computer, click on the very first link, scroll down until you see the Bypass Code for Socom 2 that you can inject the code directly into the iso file using PS2 Patch Engine, and then you can play it off from burned disc using ESR, USB drive, or internal hard drive using Open PS2 Loader. I hope that helps out for you and you will be ready to go to have a lot of good time while playing Socom 2 PS2 Online. But just make sure the code that you are injecting the iso file in PS2 Patch Engine is in RAW format, not PNACH

I tried to play Call of Duty Finest Hour online, I did everything as you said, put the exact DNS Server Adress numbers, tried the connection test which was successful, then I went back to the game, tried to connect and then it failed the DNAS test, it gave me Error 601. Is there a way to fix it? Or it only works with NTSC versions of the game? Since mine is PAL. Thanks.
I looked at the Official List of PlayStation 2 Online Games in Google Docs and the Call of Duty Finest Hour only works to play online on the NTSC version. It doesn't work on the PAL version unfortunately

I only played with people who has the original model of PlayStation 2 console with the internal hard drive and the Sony Official PS2 Network Adapter, which they are used for the Fat model because for the internal hard drive, the game runs really faster and it reduces the loading time that I'm always playing off of. So I would recommend you to get the Fat model of PlayStation 2 console, the Sony Official PS2 Network Adapter, and an internal hard drive

This game is Mortal Kombat Armageddon, and to play PS2 games online, you have to setup a network configuration by creating one and you want to leave the settings everything the same. But when you get to the DNS Address screen, you want to set the Primary DNS manually to 45.7.228.197, and the Secondary DNS, you want to leave it all zeros. After you done that, you want to save that network configuration settings to your memory card and you will be ready to go play PS2 online. You're probably playing the PAL version of Call of Duty 3 then. I think the server went down for maintenance or something. But I'm in the United States of America and I play the NTSC American version of Call of Duty 3

No I don't think this will work on a PS3 because I don't play PS2 games on my PS3 and I only play with them on my PS2 console with online functionality
