I'd love to be able to jump back into some Hardware Online Arena games, but it used Sony's DNAS authentication system. The Rivals remake just didn't have the magic for me.
@@martinvdbrink738 configure a network setting on the ps2 dashboard which you can access on battlefront on the online menu when they ask to pick a network. The DNS settings on top need to be 45.7.228.197 and the bottom stays at 0.0.0.0. Then save the setting on your virtual memory card. It'll ask you to make a GameSpy account which you don't have to do and then you should be online. There's a Google doc with the full list of ps2 games online but a lot of them require being on a ps2 with the real game disc. But on emulation so far I've gotten about 10 different games to work

I can get to the lobbies and see my friends lobby. But after connecting it gives me a NAT negotiation failure. I tried with a couple more setups to no avail, I would love a few pointers if possible. does this work if you're using a VPN? I keep getting there was an error in response to the DNS server everything else went through fine but when it was time to actually play online I got that message.
i thought you could access network config from the BIOS but apparently, back in the legacy days you'd get a setup disc when purchasing the network adapter. maybe there's some ISOs floating on the web but they'd have to be region specific. other games that let you access network config are SOCOM and NFL 2K3 but i would just go with Battlefront II because you can directly test it (there's people online right now i'm willing to bet). just try to see it as using a specific non-expensive Kirby game with some exploit that allowed you to mod your 3DS. you can throw the game out if having Battlefront II in your library goes against your core beliefs and integrity as an individual (ps you didnt hear this from me but there's this site called COUGH cdROMance COUGGHCOUGGHHhh if you need a copy of either mentioned game)
Can anyone advise me what spec PC I would need to stream pcsx2 gameplay? I know the specs I need to just play pcsx2 but if I want to stream whilst playing will that increase my requirements by much?
@@OdinTheUniverseTraveler2003 I only had this problem with Metal gear online. I downloaded a modded version of pcsx2 to connect to the online servers and managed to get in.
@@ArchadesGames well i have xlink running and reachable, but pcsx2 can only show the ps2 mac address with the 'sockets' option not 'pcap switched' like on desktop, as a result, no console is detected. I am trying a separate wifi dongle/ethernet next.
Update, it works if you run pcsx2 with sudo, but then theres no sound at all from the emu. Installing windows is your best bet, but sound is jacked there too, but itll work through bluetooth headphones. Jank
it's the easiest method and a satisfying way to test connectivity because there's more people playing than you'd expect. unless you have an ISO (or the original) for the setup disc that came with the PS2 network adapter back in ye olde Gamelot

NAT-type is usually a router-sided option (UPnP). ideally you'll want to set this to 2 (moderate) because you're most likely on type 3 (strict)

They used 4 LETTERS for the 4 face buttons on controllers since the SNES. Not 3 letters and a symbol. It's really not that hard to understand.
