This flight is so retro that the baby heard yelling at the start is now 52 years old.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
A candidate for the drop-off chute at the Baby-Oil factory!
That was no baby. It WAS a 52 year old Karen. Complaining that her seat didn't recline enough, that the person in front reclined too much, that the meal was too slow, that the weather wasn't good enough and that she wanted to talk to the captain RIGHT NOW.
I agree that the blood curdling, ear piercing, eardrum damaging screams of the baby added a certain vintage charm to that charming vintage aircraft design....it all works together like a piece of a puzzle!
@smitajky and she said the plane was too loud
What perfects the retro style is that they decided to paint it on the 737. The cockpit design closely resembles that of a classic Boeing 707 making it look more nostalgic.
Felix was happily recording and interpreting while there's an exorcism in the back😂
Sounds like there was an exorcism going on during departure. :/
The baby did have a nice set of lungs on him or her!😅
😂😂
always remember the same situation that happened to me. flew from mel to hobart in 2016, with a 2 year old sitting next to me... he cried so loud and puked all over the place (and on my clothes xd). just cute babies afterall:) got nothing to complain about
In Economy, the Shrieking Baby IFE is provided at no extra cost. ;-) Bring your own noise-canceling headphones. I feel for the parent, who must be very embarrassed, and I applaud the understanding passengers who do not complain.
If someone can come up with Baby Cry Noise Cancellation headphones, they'll deserve a Nobel award .. 😂😂
the screaming baby… once i heard it at the terminal i knew it would be on your flight. jesus christ i would cry 💀
Finally a trip down under! But the kids tho 😮😅
It's the Australian parents that are the worst at parenting.
Gotta love the classic ScreamingKid (tm) IFA (In Flight Annoyance) system! 😂
I always wonder how airlines manage it, to distribute crying children so perfectly, in order to equip every single flight with at least one of them.
Underrated 🤣
It's aviation law, Qantas would have to pay a big fine if there wasn't a screaming child and children should always be let loose in the aisle to make sure the crew don't have it too easy 😊
it is an extremely efficient software program developed by the Australian CIA in conjunction with the UK's Scotland Yard that somehow is able to, with great tact and sophistication, distribute a screaming baby to each airplane... it's a marvel of modern technology!
Just remember, the noise from screaming kids carries through the whole plane. If you paid extra for business class on this plane, you still have to listen to all that... making the experience one to be endured rather than enjoyed.
Felix, I give you props for ignoring that screaming 😀
For some reason, I never thought it would take that long to fly across Australia! Nevewer realized how big that country actually is! That flight time is approximately equal to a flight here in Canada between YYZ and YVR! With that screaming kid at the beginning, I was thinking you may have had second thoughts about taking that earlier flight! Lol!!
Just shows how massive Oz really is. When I was there in 2009, I had a 3-hour flight from Brisbane to Cairns (within the same state, of Queensland) and a coach tour a few days later from Alice Springs to Uluru (aka Ayer's Rock) in Northern Territory. They might look relatively close on a map but it took more than 6 hours to get there! 😮
Australia is not much smaller than the continental US
Bro NZ to Sydney is 2HR 30 and from Sydney to Perth is 4hr 20th!!?
In the opposite direction (PER to SYD), the flight time, against the prevailing westerly winds, is typically about an hour longer.
Actually an hour shorter as it is WITH the jet stream!
A retro flight on a legacy carrier is really something amazing. Legacy carriers are able to have a retro offering quite well compared to newer airlines. Newer airlines have to make-up a retro livery.
Have you tried flying with Scottish airline Loganair? I would love to see a tripreport on them!
i’m curious, which airlines do that?
@@iflycessnas4707jetBlue has an interesting retro-style livery on one if its A320s
They need special/extra plane for parents with screaming kids.
Or just put them in the cargo hold
Like in hotels, there should be adults only flights
I agree
Yes, they do.
I flew from Brisbane to Dubai on Emirates, a 14 hour flight, and as soon as we got airborne, there was a kid/baby screaming and crying. The parents seemingly did nothing to quiet it down. Thank God for noise canceling headphones
A great video. I live in Perth and have flown this sector many, many times in both directions, not only with QF but also with VA and, back in the good old days, Ansett Airlines (RIP). The video portrays the experience very well. It's always more comfortable in a wide body, and in the past they've included 767s and 747s. Even now, QF operates a lot of these flights with 332s. But the 738s are also okay. QF has slightly better catering than VA, but VA is consistently less expensive and otherwise very similar. And the daylight flights with minimal cloud cover are very scenic, as your video demonstrates. I can also highly recommend the ground-level trip by car or train, BTW.
bloody hell those kids are earape 😂 hope you enjoyed the flight though!
The child crying is all part of the inflight entertainment package included (lol)
Bruh 😂😂😂
40 years ago I had a screaming baby. Not that I ever tried to take it on a plane. But in keeping with the retro theme it reminded me of all those sleepless nights. Now I can remember why we limited our family to just two children. There WAS a reason after all.
Oh no, not the screaming child
😂😂
@@alperyavuz3335 It’s NOT funny. It’s torture.
I watched on mute…
@@lornayuen7444 me too
Needs to fly in the hold with the other animals 😂😂😂
5:00 Felix, you are one very patient man.
Woah that aircraft is really retro and its very cool to see it!
And I like this retro style of this 737 which reminded me of the nostalgic , legendary Boeing 707🛬🛬🛬🛫🛫🛫✈️✈️✈️
That's what I thought when I saw the plane a Boeing 707.
@@BlueSky-gu2bx as a 10yr old I did Auckland to Sydney on a BOAC 707, as part of a trip to the UK.
My god, that kid. If only retro roo had ejector seats.
Qantas We Have Not Seen This Airline In A While
5th!
Damn The Flight Had So Many Screaming Kids
bruh when u say 5th its like coming last in a 4km race and being like "i'm in the top 1000"
@@Pies. What?
I Only Said 5th Because I Wanted To
7:59 That scream reminds me of that 8 hour flight 😂
absolutely loved the view of the city as you were climbing out on your outbound flight. Thank you for this! hope to get there some day :)
Great flight. The old/retro seating sometimes is much comfortable than modern seat.
7:59 Thank you for showing the screen on the ceilling going, that screen is use in the old A319
I did the landing gear change on VXQ in June 2022. Both the main landing gear aft trunnion bearing changes are my work amongst many other tasks 😇.
that toddler screaming omg that'll do my head in
Thank you Felix for bringing me not that far memories! Sydney is the farest city I've ever been to and I was flying the same flight as you QF649 but in November last year. Maybe my plane does not have uniqe livery as yours and was over 1 hour delayed but I had IFE on my 737 :) While my flight from Singapore to Sydney on Qantas A380 was bad and They wanted freeze me to death, flight to Perth was overall nice experience and I enjoyed free messaging via WiFi! My greetings to all Aussies, you are such a nice people!
My very first plane ride was with no Tech just the radio on the a rest. It was 2009 with I flew my first plane with the IFE. In fact in the early 2000s flew over seas with parents many times with IFE. It’s nice to know that there are planes with no IFE still out there.
My very first flight was in 1955 in an NAC DC3 between Wellington and Auckland. From what I remember seats were provided! The plane was most probably a converted ww2 transport.
Kids....i don my part in not having them :D
Just one suggestion guys. Please add some bg music when a child is crying onboard. It's pretty much annoying to hear those screams while watching the video. Cheers
So cool to see you back down under hope you enjoyed your trip here :)
Interesting that this plane also has the retro IFE. Only thought the older MAS planes like 9M-FFE and 9M-FFF had them.
I work as a qantas ground handler at Perth and if i remember correctly i think i unloaded your flight!!
Cool!! I’m 😮
Love seeing the Retro Roos fly in an out of my local intl, YMML. They have a beautiful livery.
I like Qantas but for domestic flights you are paying always 2 or 3 more times than with the other airlines, Rex is the best option if you need to check a bag, Jetstar the best option if you are traveling light
Excellent video Felix, hopefully that kid was alright.
What an amazing video mate!
YESSS QANTAS FLIGHT
I thought that kid was going to scream all the way to Perth. 😀 Thanks for the tip on the app. I'm flying Qantas next week and didn't know about it.
flying the rerto roo with qantas love this livery
I fly Qantas all the time Im a dual resient of Sydney and Melbourne so I fly each month all year round. But I want to fly to Perth this year so thanks for the video.
i flew with that specific plane in 2020 from Sydney to Darwin!
I was on this flight about 2 months ago and it was an updated cabin with seat back entertainment
I love simply aviation
Had the pleasure of QF435 on retro roo in november
I love this trip report😊
Perfect seat for the CBD shot on departure. So glad you enjoyed your stay here.
Thanks for the lesson about the origins of the Qantas name!
And thank you Feliz for shaing your trip. Always amazing views😂
Another Quality Review
5:19 all the way to 8:42 exorcism hits differently
I would just take my sleeping pill
Flew the other retro 737 the other day. Really solid
During the same month on the same year i flew from Melbourne to Adelaide as i was getting back home after a nice holiday in Vietnam, and on the flight from VIC to SA the crew handed out sandwiches and chocolates which is really nice. but when flying to and from Vietnam i was on Vietnamese airline planes
14:30 I've flown Melbourne to perth twice on the A330 in the last year and both times they handed our chocolates similar to the one shown there, haven't had it arriving anywhere else though.
Also known as JANET undercover livery :). Great video, thanks guys!
Good job 👍
That Qantaslink Q200 was flying to my airport and work town Merimbula I live 30 minutes drive west of Merimbula.
I imagine you know that Qantas will be replacing all their 737's and 717's with Airbus A321's and A220's.
Due to start taking delivery later this year.
The other major carrier, Virgin Australia, are due to start receiving their new 737 Max's starting June.
The 737 max!!!
Seems like it’ll just be Hawaiian left operating the 717. Sad.
This is one of the older 737's, and its currently parked. they'll only replace the older ones just like VH-VXQ
The baby is crying, I can’t focus the video!! 😢😢
Then mute it
And the soundtrack of this video: that annoying baby..
I wonder what will be the next trip! I AM SO EXICTED!!!
I love the sounds of the engins starting up.
If it wasn’t because Qantas originally mainly served Queensland and the Northern Territories, i think it would be named something like Australia Airways or Air Australia.
“We’re getting ready for takeoff! :D”
Baby: “I’ll make that :D turn into D:”
The Qantas retro design 🎉eminds me of Garuda Indonesia Retro design, pretty similiar
I recognise the screaming from the terminal footage!
These intros are so good i keep rewinding just to see the flight map
Cool livery
OMG. The sound of the screaming kid, she/he sound like the world is going to end. I can’t stuck with that for the rest of my flight 🤣
One of my best friends is in the safety demo and hearing her voice on your video is so strange but cool!
This aircraft is, due to retro livery, Retro Roo (second word is a common abbreviation of "Kangaroo", a national animal of Australia) II. I think, that LOT Polish Airlines should temporarily repaint one of it's aircrafts for 3rd European Games.
hell yea that one's good
Love it 😊❤
that child is annoying me here wonder how you survived !
i once saw a qantas link boing 717 at LAX
welcome to my city of perth!
What a smooth butter landing👍
OMGG I’m from Perth!
look what i got... a fresh tripreport posted within 2 hrs:)
Nice Dash8
flew that same flight a few weeks ago in the simulator, nice :D kids are just kids, but it can be a wee bit annoying. had that pleasure last year on a long haul for 9:30h straight
Love the complimentary screaming kid
Damn, that is way more then any us airline. I flew DFW-SJU (which is right about 5 hours of flight time) on A321s and 737s and always only got a single pack of cookies and maybe a drink of choice throughout the flight.
You should try going to the Falklands Islands, and do a trip review
@8:33 the Singapore Airlines A380, what a sight
I went to the same airport as you when me leaving Sydney and into Gold Coast
I went to Alice Springs a while ago on a Qantas 737-800. Didn't have the retro livery though. The In-flight Wifi was so janky...
It can either be really good, or really bad. On my flight to Sydney in late Feb, wifi worked a treat. On my way back, I tried watching the NRL using the wifi, and it glitched out a few times. The flight back home to Brisbane was more packed than the flight down (dunno why, Brisbane's a dump of a place lmao) so I suppose the more people using it, the more issues it'll have.
How much was the uber to the airport? And where did you take
it from? And ofc lovely trip report, the lack of voice in these videos makes me feel like I’m on the trip too
Nice video. 👍
I have to say I found the screaming child quite triggering … I was on a long distance train last week near an overtired child who had an equally piercing scream … I figured the child must fall asleep sooner or later so didn’t change seats. I was wrong. 😝🤦♂️
Ah! The mandatory screamer, who could fly without one! Juast knew it was coming along with us as you walked to the departure gate. LOL!
Kudos for the parent/s not committing infanticide!
Honestly, I prefer the modern setup, not retro!
Good info though.
Hi Felix I live in Perth! By the way, I’ve never been in a retro Qantas plane…and I didn’t like that baby!😓Thank you Felix for the trip report.
The whole plane went retro with the pop down screens. 😂
6:26😮😮
Ayo baby at 5.02 was screaming like crazy!
HOLY SMOKES THOSE KIDS
I really thought it was the flap sound for a second
8:16 Freakin raid siren..
I actually live under the flight path of your flight! Pretty awesome sight 😅
The Baby Though 💀
