    I kept the bulk head in ( due to transporting tools and equipment) I wish a company would make a retrofit bulkhead that could sit further back and be removed quickly. Sound deadening,insulating and carpeting makes a massive difference in the summer and winter. It also makes every day use of the van far easier. I can now have a conversation on the hands free after doing a similar mod in my van. Dan I can’t recommend highly enough replacing the front seats. I fitted A1 S line seats. They bolt straight in and can be found at scrap yards for around £100 each. You can also source a cable retro fit kit for the airbags from a poster on a popular caddy van forum.
    Please do , go for it with a caddy van build. Once you have finished Juicy. You can take me through the lowering and axle flip process and front bumper replacement. Also if your feeling adventurous barn door to single rear door conversion.
    Loved this mini series. I can see your feeling a bit bogged down with the fabrication work on Juicy. Chin up , keep going mate

    Great bang on job. I love seeing headliner and carpet stuff because it was one of the first things I tackled in a couple of my vehicles. It seemed daunting but is seriously pretty easy and simple and adds so much to your confidence in doing a project. I'm doing some sound. Deadening in my Mk1 Rabbit but went an unconventional budget route and found some great pipe insulation for 15 square feet for less than $25, can be even under $20 depending on where you get it. It is working out pretty good so far.
    Dan keep up the good work!

    Couple of points, Dan. Lots of Touran parts fit the caddy. Rear seats can be used, dashboard, front seats, headlights etc, etc. I’ve had a Caddy van and a Caddy Maxi Life (where that bit you carpeted in this episode is cut out for rear leg room). They are great for custom and oem+ modification. I’m considering going for a Caddy Life in the near future, as I think they offer the best of both worlds (van & car). Would love to see you do one! Great content, thanks, bud👊

    I would have gone further in the front doors insulation since I always get aftermarket Audio systems in my vehicles (yeah, even in the cheap working van). But I really think this should have helped out a lot (like day and night) in terms of quietness and thermic insulation.
    I actually will be doing something similar to a caddy (the passenger version) and a Chevy Express Van (also passenger, but the extra long one). I will try to document as much as I can and share it.
    Nice job

    Hey Dan, Done an amazing job on that! I'm curious if you loose a lot of heat where you didn't put the insulation for the window areas... I love the look and want to go ahead with that concept for my camper conversion, tia! BTW love the new caddy project! keep it up dude!

    Hey Dan, in the back where you have carpeted the sides. I notice you haven't reused the wooden panels. Is the carpet a bit venurable for a load area that hasn't got support from behind? - Scrap that comment - I've just realised I've missed a vital episode!!!

    Does the Caddy have the dampening sheet under the bonnet? I have a 2015 Caddy and bought this seperately from VW. Helps in reducing engine noise getting into the car. I could definitely hear the difference before and after.

    • @DanChambersDAC
      @DanChambersDAC  3 года назад

      Thank you so much for watching and for the comment Bud. I don't think this has it as standard. Could be a good idea to buy one, Thanks.

    • @lutteropjan

      Another tip (just did that myself) is to get the cover for the intake manifold (in my case 03L 103 925 R, for 1.6 TDI). You also need 2x 03L 103 164 and 1x 03L 133 287 (to put on the oil filler cap) to fit the cover. The cover has dampening material on the bottom side which also helps reduce engine noise. (Reference for part numbers: volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/).

    Hi Dan, great content as always. Do you think rear seats from a tuareg or caddi maxi would be 'bolt in' or is it completely different from the front tub back?

    • @DanChambersDAC
      @DanChambersDAC  3 года назад +1

      Thank you so much for watching and for the comment Rob. The rear seats from a Touran and I think Maxi are not bolt in. As far as I am aware you have to weld brackets to the floor.
