Tudor BB58GMT: can't get enough of it + Gold Rolex prices soar

- I've been wearing the Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT constantly for nearly a month now. It's that good.
A friend of mine just got into the Rolex AD dance and June saw another price hike on their gold pieces. Развлечения
Quick question for : after experiencing the BB58GMT, would you prefer it over a 5 digit rolex GMT ?
That’s a great Q
the $4,000 question!
I alluded to that question in my last video as I actually owned the 16760. Collectibility and status is definitely on Rolex side. For a daily, it's hard to beat Tudor but of course Rolex has proven itself for decades as the most reliable watch. It comes down to whether you want a classic asset that needs a bit more care or a modern reliable tool that doesn't break the bank.
I actually think this piece would look great with the 5-link (jubilee) bracelet. Not sure why they don’t offer that as an option atm.
Their jubilee is 22mm. They haven’t made one that fits any 58 yet.
Because Daddy Rolex said ‘no!’
Wouldn’t be hard to make and launch with revised watch next year. In line with the trickle feeding approach that keeps us all spending
I hope they do, though I’m not sure it’ll ever actually happen. Waiting for either the 5 link or a different color before I seriously consider this gmt.
@@defenestratedone am sure they will, in time. It’s the next logical & tangible progression for the watch.
Lovely watch looks beautiful on the rubber
Great experiential review
It’s a beauty, just off loaded my BB pro so I can pick one up 😅
Question: Is it difficult to get the BB58GMT in either the rubber strap or bracelet in HK at a Tudor shop/AD?
Absolutely love this watch I’m pretty much certain it’s going to be my next daily watch, one question, do you think Tudor will release a 5 link bracelet and different colours in the coming years? Great video, thanks
Nice video, do a shopping trip video
what is your wrist size? is the black rubber strap suitable for 6.5 inch wrist?
How's the rest of the watch market? Glashutte, Zenith, JLC? Are all precious metal watches going up in price?
nice one, i wonder if its the strap or the watch that makes it month long comfort. . .
Interesting your friend got a call 2 days later - HK economy must be on hard times. But congrats to him. A Daytona and a Sub.
Glad you’re still enjoying the Tudor ‘Coke’ - my AD said mine should arrive in a few weeks.
Exquisite watch. Wear it in good health. Question: Getting a clean even cut when sizing rubber straps can be a pain. Did you size it yourself or did you have it done by the AD?
I like it but there's one thing that would drive me nuts - that the dial is matt black and not a gloss black. I much prefer super dark gloss black. The blacker the better. But that's just me.
I agree!
Tudor don’t typically do gloss dials. Rolex has that covered.
Yes, the faded matt dial is quite contrived. Gloss would be fire 🔥
I own a few Rolex models, but I prefer to wear my Tudor watches, they are simply more suitable for everyday use and don't stand out as much.
Would have been a win in the 41mm case. Too small for my taste as is.
*sigh* with these price hikes I guess I should face the music and say goodbye to ever getting a Rolex. $17K for a bluesy WTH
Unfortunately the demand increased the prices lol. Blame the market.
love your review ! first to comment ???? :)
The daytona is the best rolex imo, i bought it in switzerland, it was the right size for me, and she is beautiful . Better than the Gmt. Now, I'm curious to see how much it's worth today, so I'm planning to do a little research.
Great that will fetch you some cash. *I used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $35million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.
I am confused, are you French or Belgian ? 🤔
He’s both
GMT hand is not colored, making it difficult to pick up on and differentiate. Gilt hands aren't the easiest to see through Tudor's boxed sapphire crystals. Still not a fan of the gilt on the insert, nor the insert's colors. My AD got one in, sent me some pics of it, and I told him no thanks. If Tudor offers better colors, maybe. I still wouldn't like the lack of color on the GMT hand. Looks unfinished and bizarre.
That’s why the Tudor BB58 925’s awesome contrast and legibility makes it one of my favorite Tudor watches.
5 link would be nice on this piece
Nice. I was quite surprised to see that the METAS Tudors actually have a tighter tolerance than Rolex!
Not sure that’s true. I thought Rolex was +/-2 where Metas is -0/+5. Although both of those are just ratings and I have found both Tudor and Rolex can be much better than those figures.
@@jeremylamb1060 thanks! that may have been the tudor dealer trying to sell a watch then!
@@jeremylamb1060that is just the standard to be Metas certified. Not necessarily what the watch is delivering.
