This was excellent!!! My own tastes would have rearranged a few of the albums but it was a blast to hear the rationale behind your selections. Dada is definitely in my top 5 as well, I love his “lost albums” period

Thanks for sharing your list. Here are my favorites:
    1. Killer
    2. Welcome to My Nightmare (used to be my number one, still is on some days)
    3. Love it to Death
    4. Dada
    5. Billion Dollar Babies (more or less tied with Dada)
    6. Special Forces
    7. Flush the Fashion
    8. School's Out
    9. Raise Your Fist and Yell (it's all about side two)
    10. Zipper Catches Skin

Very interesting to watch as always and some of your picks are very different than mine, naturally, but I enjoy hearing your reasons and it helps me to enjoy some of the music more. I agree with you about some deep tracks like Little By Little and Somewhere in the Jungle along with others.
No one asked but here's my list:
    1. Billion Dollar Babies (hard to argue that this is his classic)
    2. Dada (love this)
    3. Love it to Death
    4. Killer
    5. From the Inside (best lyrics)
    6. Welcome to my Nightmare
    7. Detroit Stories (loved so much about it)
    8. Last Temptation (Alice's solo concept albums are great)
    9. Dirty Diamonds (consistent good pop songs)
    10. Brutal Planet
    11. Flush the Fashion
    12. Paranormal
    13. Dragontown (could have picked up this LP a month ago at a store and didn't now I regret it)
    14. Muscle of Love
    15. School's Out
    16. Lace and Whiskey
    17. Special Forces (there is a lot I like about this era and tour, but not particularly the album)
    18. Zipper Catches Skin (side two is my favorite)
    19. Trash (catchy but not Alice)
    20. Hey Stoopid
    21. Eyes of Alice Cooper
    22. Alice Cooper Goes to Hell (too many show tunes)
    23. Pretties For You (this album has charm going for it)
    24. Welcome 2 My Nightmare (doesn't come together well for me)
    25. Raise Your Fist and Yell (I don't like the hair metal era)
    26. Along Came a Spider (good story but poor song production)
    27. Constrictor
    28. Easy Action (due to me being unfamiliar with this compared to others)
I found the first half of the list easy to do (favorites) but the second half really hard as I saw those albums as having good qualities but in my eyes flawed in some ways. Hard to balance all that and rank, there is something good about just about every album
Thanks to anybody who read this far.

Really nice ranking, much better than the album rankings music magazines do sometimes, they usually seem to praise the old and most successful albums and compare everything else to those. My top 5 would be (in no particular oder):
    Love it to Death

    Hey Stoopid
    The Eyes of Alice Cooper

yeah that review was great ! I ve been listening to alice since 1975 , nightmare album, i was 9 years old at the time, could'nt get enough of it. Stuck with him through goes to hell and lace and wiskey, which i still do like to this day, i do prefer lace ( but it souds terrible, needs a remastering. All the ACG albums are great, I DEFFINETLY put Muscle of Love higher than u did, ( please give it few more spins) Big Apple, Hard Hearted Alice & Crazy Little Child in my opinion are epic( but it is not the ACG sound for sure) Muscle of love, working up a sweat, teenage lament are just fun songs to rock out too.Never cared for Man with the Golden Gun , which was suppose to be the James Bond movies song, but they submitted it 1 day too late ( from the mythology anyway) and they gave the song to someone else,( too bad who knows what could of happened after that?) But its ok cause we got 20 something of Alice Cooper albums after. the crazy thing is after all the booze and drugs Alice has still put out some amazing songs, where others have just coasted on past success. I mean " my god ,where did the lyrics come from for the title track of Brutal Planet?( i get this , not chills ,but wtf this is some of the best lyrics ive ever heard! ""vibe".
I am always glad to see the younger generation appreciate the older music, at 57 years of age i try to listen to the current music out there also , because all music is good (if it s done well). My generation,i find are quick to say " our music was the best!" BULLSHIT ' you soud like our parents.
Thanks for the review, it was very well done...( im almost ashamed , you have more albums than i do..:(

Very interesting to hear your ratings. I can't say that I agree with all of them but you give some legit criticism. I do think Pretties for You and Easy Action have good ideas but are mostly too sloppy and inaccessible for most people. I would have rated Raise Your Fist and Yell and Along Came a Spider as in the upper 20's because in my opinion they were just too simple minded. Then again, I only got through Along Came a Spider once. If you've got a review of it I think I'll need to learn what you see in it. Great video overall! Thanks.

@CaretakerWanted I'll grant you that it's pretty uneven. You could tell the band was falling apart, no Bob Ezrin, they were all fried. In places it sounds like it could be a semi-decent Aerosmith album.
As for the rest, I would round off my list as Inside, Muscle, Death, Raise Your Fist..., DaDa, Flush and probably Easy Action. I can't do Trash. It's such an easy play for 1989. But, like you said, had he not hit it big, he would just be another 70s act that couldn't hack it.

Personally, since I hate hair metal, Trash is not a bad album, it’s completely overrated, but bed of nails is a guilty pleasure song of mine. You nailed it about the concepts though, it starts out full throttle and by the fourth song the concept is totally scattered everywhere and abandoned. I probably said this before, but I wish Alice did a full punk album at a point during his blackout, like after DaDa, and just one more album then he got clean. Then again if that happened I don’t think he’d still be alive now after that.
