DELAIN Full Concert Live @Underground Lelystad 9-3-2013

- For those of you who are new to this band: DELAIN is a Dutch band which is getting more popular by the day in the international Symphonic Metal scene. Their debut album 'Lucidity' came out in September 2006, their second album 'April Rain' came out in March 2009 and their third and latest album 'We Are The Others' was released in May 2012. In May this year 2013 a release of a new album is planned with a mix of new songs and live songs of the three existing albums, with the title 'Interlude'.
For me personally the breakthrough came with the third album, where I finally can distinguish a recognizable and catchy 'Delain' sound. Somehow the third album has opened the road for me to also learn to appreciate the second and first album. DELAIN has a large group of loyal fans who follow the band from the very beginning, and they were right to believe in them from the start. They probably think I was living under a rock because I have only discovered now how awesome DELAIN are haha.
Charlotte Wessels has a wonderful mesmerizing voice which sounds very refreshing in the midst of all the 'operatic' female symphonic metal voices. Martijn Westerholt has proven to be a talented composer and keyboard player, away from under his big brother Robert Westerholt's wings.
As for the other three band members Timo, Otto and Sander: watch the video and see how they own the stage and master their instruments. I love the simultanous headbanging and Baron Otto (yes, he is of noble lineage!) has a very nice grunt as well.
So please, enjoy this full concert of DELAIN at Underground Lelystad. I'm glad I caught them there, because soon they will be too big to play at these smaller venues! ;-)

Flew in from Norway to see this gig in Lelystad. Flying to Amsterdam again in November to see them! What a band! What a voice that woman has!

It was the first time I saw them live, I didn't knew them very well before (I starded listening a lot when I heard they came to Lelystad), but the are great live! I was blown away! I'm going to see them again at 'My Masquerade' :D

I totally enjoyed! As you wrote, Delain has very catchy sound. Their melody and lyrics are a lot bright. Very characteristic and differtent from other symphonic metal band. Just only three full studio album, so I'm expecting a lot for their future works. Thank you for your hard work!

It's just a simple Canon consumer Handycam. The best result is when like now, the artists and soundboxes are standing not too far and not too close. Also the sound-mix at Underground was quite good actually. So it actually depends on various factors, not only the quality of the camera. But glad you appreciate it. Thanks! :-)
Ive seen em three times lol but very awesome all the times! The first time i met the keyboardist and charlotte it was really an awesome time!

Perhaps you've seen yourselve in the audience then? :-) It was the first concert of Delain for me as well and I loved it! Charlotte has a great stage presence and Timo and Otto were awesome standing on top of their monitors. I'm planning to go to that special concert in Haarlem in November as well.
