I got drafted into goal umpiring for my son's U15 footy club. The "touched" and "grazed the post" decisions are usually hard due to speed and angle factors. At least in junior footy, if the ball gets kicked through the goal posts it should simply be considered a goal. Or at least any interference with the flight of the ball between the boot and the goal should have to be "obvious", not something you would need to watch on replay to decide adequately. It's stupid that whether or not a ball that was otherwise nicely kicked though the goal posts touched someone's fingertips or knicked the post can affect the outcome of a close game. Plus I get yelled at sometimes!
agree with you on the younger grades, youd be stiff to tell a 12yo that you think you saw it brush the post by a coat of paint. at the afl level though rules are rules if you start bending them no matter which way its gonna get blown out of proportion. look at how theyre treating tackling right now absolute shitshow. imagine they had a mro set up so clubs could complain that one shot shouldve been a goal and another one shouldnt have been. let the goal ump make a call with confidence and leave it at that if they feel they need to check it because theyre unsure, so be it
Next has to be the most ridiculous "not 15" calls, Jeremy's mark against swans with 15 seconds left that was called not 15 has to be there, Sincerely still a pissed off Cats supporter.
Listen to the audio, the umpire is clearly saying "touched play on." I'm sorry the call didn't go your way but what the umpire says goes, whether it be the right or wrong decision. Calls will go for and against your team, maybe that call compensates for the Brisbane game.
I think it would be worth trialling a rule where any ball that hits the post and deflects for a goal is a goal, or for a behind is a behind, and if the ball definitively deflects towards the field of play, it's a behind.
Don't remember the game or who else was playing other than collingwood. But they used the wrong footage, which showed a clear touch. But the correct footage was clearly not touched.
That was a good Video, I remember watching The Richmond VS Geelong one the Collingwood VS Giants in the Preliminary Final. OMG, so many close calls and so many angry Magpies fans in the end as well. Thank you for the video mate. 😊
Great video. Shows how incompetent these reviewing muppets are. The first one has to be the worst. McGlynn says it's a not goal after he kicks it yet the 3rd umpire still pays it a goal
I was at Metricon for the suns v Essendon the crowd went INSANE
So was I and I even saw myself in the video.
@J G not over my dead body

Yeah I understand at junior level but this is AFL level mate. It’s a job they get paid to do their job. A lot of the decisions are awful.

Part two with Jenkins post in the 2018 showdown?
That Higgins one was so stupid by the umpires against Geelong
LOL HOW DO THEY NOT SEE THESE

It was touched
@@finnmcneil7393 it wasnt touched, AFL made a statement saying it was %100 a mark and should have been paid.

@@finnmcneil7393 say that when Geelong won against Brisbane by a point, holding the ball clearly, the decider of the game not paid, actual bullshit

Nice vid Aussie things

Missed the Freo goal in 2019 that was touched by Chris mayne
Don't remember the game or who else was playing other than collingwood. But they used the wrong footage, which showed a clear touch. But the correct footage was clearly not touched.
i fkn remember this!!

Also Rory Sloanes goal was touched in the game against gws last year.
1:22 anyone could see that and say that was clearly touched
If a player is even saying it was touched, it was touched.
Great vid my g
Loved the vid 🤙👍
Thanks mate 💯
Cant believe some umps, soo annoying but we need them to play.
What about the “touched” in the Suns be bulldogs game?
Not many (any) big organisations that aren't corrupt. Charities, sports, government agency. You can't put it down to stupidity all the time.

Nearly all of these have the bombers
As a bombers supporter I would just like the whole world to relize how the umpires call us on the stuff we don’t even do umpires hate us
@@ethanobrien1847 I’m also a bombers fan and umpires do hate us unfortunately.
umpires can be really annoying, especially when your teams behind.
i wonder whats the point having these score reviews if they can't make a correct call
Awesome stuff!!!
Do the Afl runner interference moments
Can you do one where marks were paid but the other player touches it
Every time I’m like that not a goal!!!!!!!!!!!!
Umpire: goal 🤩
Little did Steven May know he would soon be playing for Melbourne
Great Vid And Yeah I Agree With Those
Who’s winning premiership in 2021???
I reckon the dogs
Geelong even though I’m a Carlton supporter
No one cares flop
Geelong then dogs
Crows
Great job 👏 Aussie things
Great content Mate
When ur this early there is no haters disliking
Nice
The fact that tennis has a review system down to the nanometer. But the AFL has this
much easier to track that sorta stuff in tennis than in the afl
How does this have dislikes
This hurts to watch
I think all of the score reviews are bad
Finally first
