Tip from my Greek grandma: store leftover paste by leveling the paste in the can and then cover it with extra virgin olive oil. The oil will solidify in the fridge-I’ve had cans stay good for a weeks with no issues! You could also make some delicious Greek rice dishes with the paste if you don’t know what to do with it :)
Thank you for demonstrating how a home cook can easily create this dish (I also like Alison Roman's video). Making this for my wife, a real pasta lover, for her birthday.
We're so glad it's helpful! We agree that it's nice to see someone working through a recipe in a home kitchen. We hope she loves it! Happy birthday to her.
As an anchovy hater, I was looking for a glimmer of hope that both of you would prove that the flavor will be undetectable once the pasta is done. Unfortunately, during your taste test, I was not convinced that the anchovy taste is not there. Oh well... it looks like I have to go to the Umeboshi (Japanese plum paste) route. *sigh*
I saw Allison on last night’s Stephen Colbert show, and the instructions ended after they mixed in the anchovies. Thank you for posting this so I know what else to do! Anchovies are going on my shopping list. The only change I’ll make is to wait till I taste it to add more salt.

Love this!
OMG< really? Thank You!!
I love these videos! I like seeing how they're recreated outside of a more professional kitchen setting.
Oh goodie! It's definitely a very at-home production, so that's great to hear.

@@dakju8034 Thanks so much! She did love it. And we'll have it again tonight for her un-birthday.

So glad you found it helpful! And yes, salt is one of those things...
Ahh wish the pot wasn't blocking your plate at the end since I love this dish, also lovely video, thank you.
Isn't that devastating? When I (Dak) saw this I was like noooo. Soon we'll have another camera angle so that you can see the food more.
@@dakju8034 Just shows how real you both are when you cook :) that's how I'd eat at home, so glad I found your channel.
Loved your video!
Yay! Oh we're so glad.
You can freeze leftover tomato paste flat in a snack size ziploc bag! Then just break off what you need for the next dish.
LOVE THAT. Doing it next time.
Omg can we get a dog food recipe feat. Big boy?
Oh man! We haven't delved into dog treats or food yet, but we definitely could someday.
Is that dirt on your arm....ugly Don't get it ...very distracting
Haha that's a tattoo.
