Plus, the pistol doesn't have terrible accuracy anymore. It's more than adequate for bomber popping, and can even snipe them VERY easily (especially in first person)
equipping heavy sabre and using stab (down arrow) its kinda like a bayonet especially during charges, just that heavy sabre needs to hit twice but it still got the range
it helps a certain kind of player like me (loves the quick load, cus we're no brainer-rushers and impatient asf) i cant withstand the stress watching the bomber get into my 100% hit range when using Officer on Catacombs; and i also fear that the penetration on it wont be enough to go through 1-3 zombies in front of the bomb. Also, idk why, but sometimes when i shoot a bomber on Kaub last-stand, it just... tanks it (?) and scrolls towards the sacred fortifications, blowing like 3 layers of wood and 2~4 mateys
I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but whenever I go first person as an officer it feels like all my pistol shots gain 100% accuracy, I've shot bombers & igniters at far ranges similarly to the musket (Last part of Paris Catacombs, me being far from the zombie spawnpoint in La Ferme d'En haut, and any zombies past the debris barricade in Leipzig). With my experiences above I'd obviously choose officer rather than a carbine line infantry.
The carbine...im quite mixed on it. The officers pistol pretty much allready serves the purpose but ya know the reg musket is much worse. But even with the officers pistol allready serving the purpose of the carbine, the carbine is just better. The only difference is the class since yknow you will play differently. Also please for all bayonet users out there get the fuck out of my house- I only find the bayonet good in charges but not much else. Its awkward to aim in third person even with shift lock and using it when there are more then 3 zombos on you will guarantee you getting munched like a cornflake. Oh and also...THE SHOVE-
I don’t like the hand axe either, waste of my francs. I will say I don’t have the carbine yet but I am close enough and really want it. I personally feel the bayonet is great during charges but I never really use it. Mainly because I use sapper but when using soldier I mainly try using my actual melee because side swipe kills more zombies per swing than stabs. But stabs are useful one reason for axe sucking (doesn’t effect me because I know how to kill runners from my time as a sapper main.) I personally like faster reloads because I can kill more zombies and I can penetrate more with big weapon. Kinda the reason why I use The light infantry German Regiment in B&I.
If ur team got bugler and officer. And you also don't want to switch from sabre to bayonet about few seconds, then carbine is good. It's literally just blunderbuss, but you need skills
Look, my argument in defense of the carbine is simple: penetration. It can both snipe bombers like pistol, and kill several zombies with one bullet like the musket I almost forgot, even if the pistol can do so as well, as you said, it does so better. The carbine can kill more than the pistol.
hear me out, making carbine secondary weapon, basically resurrecting it from the dead. You can use combo lance + carbine, swapping useless sabre for the good alternative to pistol, or musket + carbine combo to have good crowd control and bomber killing capabilities, but absolutely fear close combat
@@piotrm5635The buff barely did shit. The shove is only useful if you have your carbine fully equipped and very rarely have to save someone right next to you who was grabbed or ran over by a runner.
carbine and axe are a mixed class build like yoiu havd the hand axe where it just does more damaga than the sword but you have a shit musket so you replace it with a musket pistol gun
i feel like the musket should just be the SUV of the line infantry class, it can do both the pikes and carbines job, but slightly worse. that would entail making the muskets gun part worse than the carbine tho which wouldn't make much sense? maybe they can replace the carbine with something like a rifle, higher damage, higher accuracy, maybe about same reload speed if not a bit faster without the bayonet in the way.
I think the only way you could buff the Carbine is by nerfing the Pistol. The primary niche of the Carbine is eliminating Bombers and Igniters faster, more accurately, and overall more efficiently than its contemporaries. However, the Pistol fills the same niche, and the main difference maker between the two, that being their accuracy, is almost irrelevant. Like you mentioned, you can simply just wait for a zombie to get closer to you, but I find that the Pistol’s accuracy is surprisingly good. I’m unironically able to hit Bombers on long maps (aka Catacombs) very consistently, and the spread is a negligible factor. Additionally, since the Pistol reloads faster than the Carbine (without a fifer), it basically just fills the role objectively better than the other. I like the idea of being able to be flexible as an officer, sniping Bombers/Igniters then charging at the front, but maybe his sniping could be limited to mid range. I think that simply increasing the spread of the Pistol just a bit would make the Carbine be the best choice for its niche, while still retaining the officer’s ability to snipe, but forcing him to wait for more opportune moments when zombies are closer.
I had the same idea for a pistol nerf, but I don’t think you should nerf one gun just so another could be deemed worth using. So I thought of giving the carbine a 40% reload buff from a fife. Since you’re giving up damage and a bayonet for a faster reload, I think you might as well make the reload busted af.

I'd say it's still good, since the officer does more melee dmg to get their charge up, while the carbine picks off those zombies the best overall.
equipping heavy sabre and using stab (down arrow) its kinda like a bayonet especially during charges, just that heavy sabre needs to hit twice but it still got the range
it helps a certain kind of player like me (loves the quick load, cus we're no brainer-rushers and impatient asf)
i cant withstand the stress watching the bomber get into my 100% hit range when using Officer on Catacombs; and i also fear that the penetration on it wont be enough to go through 1-3 zombies in front of the bomb.
With my experiences above I'd obviously choose officer rather than a carbine line infantry.
thanks for putting me in the end of the video pookie

The carbine...im quite mixed on it.
The officers pistol pretty much allready serves the purpose but ya know the reg musket is much worse.
But even with the officers pistol allready serving the purpose of the carbine, the carbine is just better. The only difference is the class since yknow you will play differently.
Also please for all bayonet users out there get the fuck out of my house-
I only find the bayonet good in charges but not much else. Its awkward to aim in third person even with shift lock and using it when there are more then 3 zombos on you will guarantee you getting munched like a cornflake.
Oh and also...THE SHOVE-
no it isnt🤯

one word: Bayonet
@@stockest1976 mid
The update made it better, Shove and 6.7 reload speed.
Nice edits
Can you show some cool cosmetic combos
I have been using the saber instead of the bayonet when a officer uses charge...What was I thinking
Good news, ITS GOOD NOW YIPPIIIII
Carbine supremacy
Look, my argument in defense of the carbine is simple: penetration.
It can both snipe bombers like pistol, and kill several zombies with one bullet like the musket
I almost forgot, even if the pistol can do so as well, as you said, it does so better. The carbine can kill more than the pistol.
It kills exactly ONE more zombie
@@2fore2splace50 and that’s reliably, the pistol isn’t as reliable
I think that the devs balance was the long sword thingy so you get a faster gun for a longer and slower blade
it carbine shove not the heavy sabre bruh
hear me out, making carbine secondary weapon, basically resurrecting it from the dead. You can use combo lance + carbine, swapping useless sabre for the good alternative to pistol, or musket + carbine combo to have good crowd control and bomber killing capabilities, but absolutely fear close combat
video was made before carbine was buffed
@@piotrm5635The buff barely did shit. The shove is only useful if you have your carbine fully equipped and very rarely have to save someone right next to you who was grabbed or ran over by a runner.
>remove carbine from shop
>make partisans
>give it to them (rng)
carbine fixed with the power of ignoring the problem!
carbine and axe are a mixed class build like yoiu havd the hand axe where it just does more damaga than the sword but you have a shit musket so you replace it with a musket pistol gun
i feel like the musket should just be the SUV of the line infantry class, it can do both the pikes and carbines job, but slightly worse. that would entail making the muskets gun part worse than the carbine tho which wouldn't make much sense? maybe they can replace the carbine with something like a rifle, higher damage, higher accuracy, maybe about same reload speed if not a bit faster without the bayonet in the way.
i like the idea but musket has perfect accuracy and we have no need for such good accuracy rn. maybe that’ll change with an lrc oriented map
I respectfully disagree with you with the statement that the hand axe is bad, because it may have lower range but consider the higher damage and speed
I never said the hand axe was bad, I just said I didn’t like it. I probably should have made that more clear.
@2fore2splace50fair enough (sorry forgot to reply)
Me after the update, buys carbine, ha ha carbine go swing!
Hello Shovel!
Finally, someone explaining why the carbine is pretty much redundant. Now instead of telling carbine mains to stfu I can send them this link.
Ah yes, the watered down pistol.
I think they should low carbine price
Its like using Pistol, but better
You gotta be broke ass to not have 300 Francs

how 2 make line infantry with carbine best
1. use heavy sabre
2. have literally one officer on your team
3. be front and backliner ez win ggs
update 0.10.3: you can now shoveling the zombies with carbine (except zapper and bomber)
Incase u wanted to know the bayonet dies 155 dmg to whatever u touch
0:15
What do you recommend me to get first or grind?
I was thinking in getting the Double Barrel "Pistol", and later get grenades and water buckets
