Incredible video but awful comparison. Video game companies are THE lowest bar. Compare this guy to quality to better show how incredible the video is.
"Which will get its own video" this was said multiple times and with how good this video was i am looking forward to the future videos you have in store for us
I've been talking about this all in the community discord. The only thing I didn't know in this video was bebop laser being given more range by sharpshooter, and also the stuff about haze 3 not counting as flat damage, and apparently alch fire doesn't count as weapon damage? I did a test with alch fire and saw it not multiplying damage by 1.5x and figured that it must be normal flat scaling weapon damage, I probably should test it further to figure out exactly what it means.
This is the exact type of thing the scratches that itch in my brain where I want to know how things work, I've tested some of this stuff but not to the depth you have great content and great video.
I've really wanted to try it out as well because it seems so destructive if you can combo it with dynamo. It seems so "off-meta" too which I really vibe with.
I cant believe this is your 1st video it must be that you are a teacher irl, if not i suggest thinking about it. Easy to understand , well explained , baby stepped from the beginning and nailed the basics. Well Done.
🙌 Thanks for the kind words! It's not my first experience in an editing software (I've known how to cut up footage for years), but it's my first time making something "complete". (So recording, voiceover, heavy editing, video structure, scripting ect...). I am not a teacher IRL, I'm just passionate about game maths and game mechanics, it took a long time to write up a script I was happy with (2 weeks I think). This is all a novel experience for me and it's quite exciting :D
@Yapistism I'm genuinely excited to see how far your channel will go, assuming you'll stick to Deadlock or come back to it once it releases. Here's hoping yours will be one of the top educational i.e. "guide maker" Deadlock channels in the years to come.
this is great stuff! deadlock is wonderful with presenting numbers compared to some other games but videos like this are awesome for helping players actually understand where those numbers come from so they can make builds and counterplay effectively, i feel this powerful knowledge nestling into my mind thank you!
I cannot believe how comprehensive this guide is. I would highly suggest you continue to pursue more educational series videos as you are very good at creating the content as well as using good visualization/demonstration!!!! Shared, Liked, and Subbed (With All Notifications) :) GREAT JOB!!!!
The math is undeniable, I just checked this calculation on Pocket's barrage amp and the math is mathing, with barrage maxed for 10% per stack you dmg goes from 35 to 49. Well done sir first time I've enjoyed math since the 6th grade.
Although I haven't fully gotten through the testing of weapon damage instances, be careful with damage amplification - I stated towards the end of the video that it isn't part of the weapon damage formula. Of course if it turns out I am wrong I will make sure to issue a correction. Thanks for the kind comment!
This was sublime! dude you definitely should continue and create all those promised vids, plus I know you will, but definitely do one for spirit damage. 🤘 btw I think it goes without saying that it makes sense for resist stuff to be multiplied rather than add up. cause then you could add up 3 items and go above 100 and resist 100% of incoming damage lol
So it sounds like every time Valve adds a new mechanic, they just slap the modifier somewhere randomly in the middle of the equation. The order doesn't necessarily make sense, and it doesn't necessarily not make sense, as its pretty much arbitrary. However, if coming up with an optimized build, it becomes important to know what that order (currently) is. Excellent video, thank you!
Awesome video! Super useful and helps with a lot of intergral knowledge about the game, you're the best for doing all the calculcations 🙏Thank you so much! Also I could be wrong but it seems like Yamato's flat damage scales differently on her Flying Strike, since after using it the damage goes from 28 all the way to 58. I might've understood the math wrong but I'm curious why it scales differently than Grey Talon's flat damage
Thanks for the comment. As for your statement about Yamato - it's because she uses a spreadshot weapon. All damage calculations apply to a single bullet, but spreadshots shoot multiple. Yamato's (2) gives 6 flat weapon damage. However Yamato shoots 5 bullets with her spreadshot weapon. 6 x 5 = 30. Which is why the damage increase is 30. Hope this helps!
@Yapistism Ohhh ok, thank you so much for the response! Surprised I didn't think about that sooner lol, I just assumed something else was multiplying it by 5 for some reason. Thank you so much for the response!
good vid, next time I think some quick conclusions / tips about how this might affect your build. things like buy improved bullet armor if you want efficient resists or maybe quickly say if its worth stacking one type of damage or if its better to get everything. One question I have is, is it worth stacking bullet resist shred into improved armor or is it better to buy different types. I feel like stacking bullet resist shred into yamoto, krill, visc, etc. is quite good but im not sure if i could be doing more damage
I'm not really good at optimising so I don't want to say things about how an item might affect your build. The question you should ask yourself is "Do I think it's a good idea to buy a specific item into a specific hero?" Deadlock is a very dynamic game where things can change quickly, and no two games are the same. So really it is up to you to judge whether buying a specific item is a good idea. One game it might be, but for another game it might not be.
One thing I want to point out, some weapon damage instances appear to be different from others. For example, lucky shot's trigger appears to have a multiplicative effect on the damage of a bullet, instead of adding to the weapon damage multiplier. I have not done extensive testing with it, but if you a normal weapon damage modifier, for example glass cannon, and have lucky shot as well, the lucky shot trigger will still multiply the total damage by an extra 35% instead of adding it to the initial damage.
Dang, I was really hoping you would expand on haze/alch fire. I thought haze's fixation was flat damage and I thought alch fire was %weapondamage. To be told that neither of these are true but also not getting any further explanation sucks. I hope the second video is coming soon
Alch Fire and Haze's (3) along with some other notable items and stats will be in the same video (the next video in fact). The reason I didn't expand on it further is because all "Weapon Damage Instances" can get complicated enough to warrant their own video - I need time to test everything and present the information correctly.

the quality is unbelievable for a first video, this is better than most content made by gaming companies themselves
❤️
Agreed
Incredible video but awful comparison.
Video game companies are THE lowest bar.
Compare this guy to quality to better show how incredible the video is.
This is top 5 Deadlock educational content so far, in all the months the game has been 'out' for.
:)
what are the other top educational content ?
The game needs more content like this, please keep it up this was amazing
There will be more maths related content in the future!
"Which will get its own video"
this was said multiple times and with how good this video was i am looking forward to the future videos you have in store for us
Thank you, now i'll spend 2 hours comparing every item in the shop for the best gun build
If you get the results you should make an edit or respond, I'm curious too!
shared, liked, subbed, the quality of this video is not unnoticed!
Thank you so much, it means a lot :D
Holy, someone finally ran all the numbers, no more snake oil and fairy dust 🙏
no more Viper oil and uh... idk. No fairy hero in Deadlock yet
I've been talking about this all in the community discord. @Yapistism vindicta is a fairy, sort of
Needs more views, very good video
:D
great quality, subscribed after 1 minute of watching
:D Thank you!
Getting to this video 5 days late and literally so impressed with the quality. Such a help for understanding such a confusing game bro
mind blown from the quality of this video
I really appreciate the kind words!
1. NERD
2. Great video and breaking everything down.
3. Thanksss
I’m speechless how well tested and put together this video is. Honestly I’m just gonna comment for the algorithm :3
This is wonderful and would watch a million of these detailed deadlock videos.
More people need to see this, and more people need to support this. This guy is going places!
Surprised that you are a small channel. Your work and quality deserve more. Keep up
This is the exact type of thing the scratches that itch in my brain where I want to know how things work, I've tested some of this stuff but not to the depth you have great content and great video.
Can't imagine how much time you spent to figure everything out. Great job.
I think at one point Steam said I had 80 hours in 2 weeks. That was just me in the sandbox testing and documenting hahaha
now i wanna make a viscous alt fire ricochet build
I've really wanted to try it out as well because it seems so destructive if you can combo it with dynamo. It seems so "off-meta" too which I really vibe with.
@Yapistism vindicta stake should be enough, much easier to coordinate because its not an ult
Going to try a viscus alt build now
The quality of the vid is crazy for the first upload and got me itching for the next vid lmao
I've been waiting for someone to make stuff like this. Unbelievable that this is your first one tbh
This is so well done!
Thank you for the nice comment!

Amazing vieeo, would love it if there was a overanalyzing/minmaxing type deadlock channel, can't wait for more videos!
this is great stuff! deadlock is wonderful with presenting numbers compared to some other games but videos like this are awesome for helping players actually understand where those numbers come from so they can make builds and counterplay effectively, i feel this powerful knowledge nestling into my mind thank you!
I learned more from this video than I have in 300 hours of playing the game
Insanely high quality video and I can’t believe I understand the math
This video is incredible. Can't wait to see the weapon damage instances video. Trying to figure this out in game has been driving me crazy
Incredibly good video. Looking forward to alchemical fire explanation!
Honestly just been waiting for someone to mine & post or figure out the formulas for damage done/recieved so I can do threshold related builds.
I feel like I just watched the birth of Deadlock's Marblr
The birth of Yapistism
cackle
@mercyfurudoRosa Umineko
useful and simple to understand info, great editing and visualisation, and a lovely voice❤ keep up the good work man
There is Lord Gaben and now we have an Apostle. Book 1 of Yapistism has begun. Thank you for this great breakdown!
I cannot believe how comprehensive this guide is. I would highly suggest you continue to pursue more educational series videos as you are very good at creating the content as well as using good visualization/demonstration!!!!

GREAT JOB!!!!
Mal consigo imaginar o trabalho para fazer este vídeo, muito bom, parabéns cara.
Bro, u cannot create such a good video and just let us with more High quality content. Keep going and congrats for this super video you created

Video is amazing but I zones put about 20sec into it :D
Will have to give it a rewatch when my brain is more capable
will definitely come back to re-watch, great educational content!
Great content!
Will be watching for the follow up videos, and your format is incredibly clean and concise. Great work!

absolutely amazing deep dive with insanely clean editing.
can tell lots of effort and love went into making this. great job man!
Wow.. really great video, thanks for this
Great video! Please make more videos like this on deadlock maths
This is your first video?! This is incredibly informative, educational, and put in a format that is easy to understand. You got my sub
Me no math good, but when Yapistism speaks I sit my goo ass down to listen. Thank you John Math

The resistance multiplying together is an elegant solution to balancing by Valve which I really like.
I absolutely loved this video hope to see more from you!
im not a nerd but you earned my interest in this topic(ima start building my own hero builds now)
This is gorgeous, well done.
What the fuck, this is absurdly high quality. Valve should feature it in some way
Solid video, looking forward to the other ones. Subscriber earned.
Thank you for the effort you put in! This is all great information!
that some high quality video , thank you and keep it up !!
Unreal video! keep up the content.
Yay quality deadlock content keep it up and have a sub. Great first vid!
Commenting to boost this vid's metrics! Great work here, really appreciate it!
Great video, brain is happy !
Such a high quality video, thanks.
EXTREMELY good video! lots of quality, and very chill vibe! very informative :DD
This is crazy well explained - and amazing research :-)
The sneaky clip showing the build with grey talon hitting 2325 dmg with a single arrow 😂 you got a sub for an excellent video
Amazing video. very informational and entertaining. thank you!
best debut video from a youtuber since Streetcraft
Best first video I've seen. Def heavy on the maths but you know that already lol
very high quality and informative video. keep it up

Most of the formula is multiplied together so the order doesn’t matter at all. The only exception is flat weapon damage.
This video is so good, thank you so much
ayo very impressive work!
flabbergasted, in denial & in need of more!
a discord server with all the funky game math maybe?
i've been Praying for this type of Deadlock content 🛐🛐🛐🛐
what a gem i found here. nice video, belongs to the best edu content for the game (or any game really.)
Amazing video, now we neeed alchemist fire one)
incredible work

Good content! keep it up :D
Great guide, only thing being a bit unrealistic is that the dummy is not in my team as per usual
Good video, just recommend turning down the game volume a bit to make what you see easier to hear
great video Im subbing
great video mate
crazy well done
a very useful video ty
Great quality content bro, keep going! also if you stream sometimes, let us know..
Production quality is crazy for creator of your size.
relatable content finally
Cool vid, keep it up
