As someone who used the normal officer pistol ALOT back when G&B didn't have the DB pistol, having a pistol that has splash damage and a shove feature is AMAZING
If you mean brass pistol then it has longer reload speed, no whip ability and it has lesser bullets than navy pistol but it's a great gun for the officer and I think it's balanced since you can hit more zombies and you can recharge your charge way faster using it
Fun fact: In the Vardø rework, while using the brass pistol, and navy pistol, the slide feature breaks and gives you a very fast slide because of the knockback
they should make it so when you drag and flip the water bucket upside for more than 10 seconds, it gets dumped out all over the shop and bubbles gets mad like sebastian lol

The shove ability for the navy pistol is pretty awesome, it’s an underrated feature for when you need a quick escape or saving a team mate from runners/grabs (though you could always just use your melee.) BUT, I feel like this ability should have gone instead towards the officer. The entire point of the officer class is quick and agile, infantry is the middle ground between offense/defense, and seaman is all about crowd control and dealing the heaviest damage possible. With that being said, the shove is something the officer should’ve gotten in my honest opinion. They already have shorter weapon reload times, which is nice, and the new brass pistol (although granted it is just a weaker navy pistol.) with the brass pistol being significantly weaker, it should have gotten the shove ability to compensate for its weak stats. As with the navy pistol, you’d be more busier targeting special infected with your fast reload times.

I've seen someone do it with the Nock before but a niche usecase is to jump onto the Copenhagen tour boat around the dock area. Granted you'd be better off just waiting at the destroyed bridge but it is technically a use case for the pistol.

Never really liked the seaman class (i have a undesirable hate towards shotguns in games), but the navy pistols gave me a reason to try it, and im glad i did.
Navy pistol works wonders on maps that spam special infected *stares at copenhagen bomber spam* in maps that need a little longer range tho the blunderbuss might be more useful but I suppose it sort of comes down to play style
Honestly, brass pistol is fun because it makes the officers gamplay a bit different, and it makes it more challenging it definitely has that "this weapon is a piece of shit feel, but it's your only option" feel and I love it
This gun kind of just takes the best qualities of the blunderbuss and nock gun, and basically combined both apart from penetration. Basically this thing is kind of good and I like it a bit.
So... A better blunderbuss that sacrifices stats that wasn't very useful for faster reload in general? Hell yeah (I mean cmon when are you gonna kill 20+ zombies in 1 shot anyways)
