Nice! Thanks for the great list. I honestly have to thank you for opening my eyes to other amazing whiskeys out there. Like many, I began with bourbon but have been venturing into scotches and rums. It’s been really nice discovering some great bottles, and avoiding the bourbon world.

Hey Rob great list. I managed to get a bottle of Ancnoc 24 after your review recently and look forward to trying it. I assume you've got a 2023 release which is what I read on my bottle. Out of the other 4, I purchased Tamdhu 15 earlier in the year and would love to get a bottle of Tamdhu 18 but it's priced too rich at the LCBO right now. Got a bottle of AnCnoc 24 for my birthday. Possibly the last opportunity to acquire a single malt from the 90s at around £150.
I think this might be the end as well.

Great list, Rob! Was hoping to get to try the Hazelburn 12 but couldn’t procure it. Surprised there wasn’t anything from Benromach. CS and Peated Sherry hit the spot for me.
There’s a whole bunch I have to review. Likely next year.

Great list Rob! As soon as these more sherried batches of the Ancnoc 24 came out I jumped at getting a bottle. Have not cracked my hazelburn 12, but glad to know it's better than the 15.

Outstanding review and list. Totally agree with the 22SB15. Thanks to you I have 2. Check out the 23SB18. Along the lines of the 22SB15 but better. Ancnoc 24 is a banger. I cant find the 2023s in the US or find to import. Much more expensive here. Glad I have a backup of the 2021 due to your review!

Great review Rob, great to see AnCnoc getting the recognition that it deserves and like you say the 18yr is also a superb whisky, it also just proves that some of the prices that the other distilleries are charging are outrageous for similar aged releases, there is no need for it, just pure greed, I stopped buying Macallan and Balvenie a long time ago, you can get much better whiskies for a fraction of the price, merry christmas, looking forward to more reviews next year 👍🥃

Great list Rob, can't really argue with these picks. Completely understand the choice to keep the Springbank 15 off the list. Glad you mentioned it though as they still deserved the recognition. Also the G&M Caol Ila 23 and Glen Scotia 22 were some of my favourites as well. That Flaming Heart 5th is a bottle I adore. I could go on but I'll stop haha. The 2015 flaming heart you listed at 4 is one of the most important whiskies of my whisky journey. Master piece.
Hazelburn 12 - unreal for and shocked it was just 12 years old. Fresh fruits and amazing.
I guess I'll be looking for that longrow 18. They're just not available by me.
I'd love to get that anconoc, never seen one for sale. I've got a small sample of an older bottling.

Great review! Did you mean that you thought the Hazelburn 12 from 2022 was better than the 15 from 2022 (54.2%) or the more recent 15 from Sep 2023 (55.8%)? I've only ever tried the Hazelburn 10 but through sheer luck I recently picked up the 15 yr from 2023 and am looking forward to trying it. My only question is where are the deanston whiskeys, I am a devoted deanston organic oloroso fan boy, and other deanston's as well, I just got a bottle of deanston 12year old oloroso sherry cask, and it is superb whiskey, I have many bottles of deanston on my shelves, and I drink deanston almost every day, love your reviews, have been a great fan of your channel for years, keep up the great reviews !!!
Have to get back into Deanston. Will likely pick up the 12 this year.

I’ve Got Nothing Against Finished Scotch Malt Whisky Expressions But I Appreciate The Folks At Knockdhu For Keeping To Their Tradition Of Full Maturation Centric Scotch Expressions And Not Bombarding The Market With Limited Releases Like i.e Ardbeg, No Disrespect To Ardbeg But It’s Just Too Much. Proof Is That You Don’t Even Have No Ardbeg In You Top 6 Despite The Volume Of Their Releases This Year Only!🥃🇿🇦

Great selection Rob. Macallan and Balvenie are disgustingly over-priced. I will never buy those two brands again....actually have never paid a red cent for a Macallan. Have a great Christmas. Oh, and have you had any of the 2023 Springbank 15 bottlings? I'm trying to get a better idea of sulphur contamination on this year's releases. Seems like some have noticed and others haven't. Great show, keep up the great content.

$260 (US) for the 24 year old in the Chicago area.
Still reasonably but I think that’s a retail choice as apposed to a cost increase from the distillery.
Ancnoc 24 is worth it at double its current price. Then it still doesn’t cost what a Bunna 25 costs.

But you can get them delivered to Ontario from Alberta when they are brought in. I’m in New Brunswick and if I did a list of only what is available through ANBL there wouldn’t be much choice.

Google Craft Cellars and BSW. Good places to start. There are other stores that deliver from out west but those should open you up to much more selection. 🥃
