I experienced this!!! So many people just started acting weird as soon as I met my husband. They were hating from the getgo! I literally cut off all of my friends but one. I am black and also have a Hispanic friend that is suppose to be ride or die since 7th grade. I am getting married in October and I had to cut her off from being my MOH. Yup This was spot on!!! My ''Friend'' Who happens to be a Narcissist has a inferior complex and is extremely Jealous of me. When I got engaged she became even more Jealous and Envious of me. Sometimes the friend is not jealous. It is the bride who assumes her friend is jealous or envious because she is getting married. When you make these assumptions as a bride you create problems and destroy relationships. Not all your single friends envy you because you secured a marriage. My friend was so paranoid by assuming I was jealous of her. We had a heart to heart talk and cried. I let her know my life was happy and fulfilling and I didn’t feel less of a woman because I am not married. So I had no reason to envy her. It was end in her head. I have a lot of friends that are single and our friendships are amazing. In this situation this was not the case. This video is not targeting single women I’m just giving my story of what I experienced. Please don’t tell me I’m assuming if I know what I went through. I can’t tell you to not feel what you feel and you can’t tell me I didn’t know what I experienced was jealousy. There were several things that transpired over the years. Looking back at this now I still feel the same and I agree I did have childish and immature friends. As a makeup artist I see a lot of drama between brides and friends. Sometimes the bride is wrong sometimes it’s the friends, family etc. every situation is different. Both parties will interpret it the way they see it. I have single friends, widowed, married etc. and I treat all my friends with respect because that’s how they deserve to be treated. I don’t judge my friends based on their marital status. I found you guys on the other couples show, the and? I can’t remember the name but I saw this on yalls channel and HAD to watch. My husband and I got married a year ago after years of dating. When I started planning the wedding (which we did at our local courthouse) oh my gosh..: the few people that I thought were close to me and were kool, friends and co-workers you name it. She started to show extreme jealousy and it took me a while to confront her about it but everything was an issue. If I talk ya out a dress or the ring she started to compare and started shopping for a ring and she’s been married for 10 years plus. I also had a friend that was Hispanic that everyone told me was jealous of me and etc and I had to cut her off a year prior. It’s a shame that folks act like that and cannot our aside how they fee and be truly happy for the person in their special day

My wedding happened 8 months ago and I still haven't taken the time to process it because it was just too much. Of everything you're talking about. I've never encountered jealousy of that magnitude. And never from my closest friends and family--people I thought were my rocks. The wake up call was huge. I can't even go past half this video because it's bringing it all back and idk if I'm ready to deal with it yet lol.
SAME EXPERIENCE...I thought I was about to get new friends/sisters through marriage but alas...my SILs were behaving much like my bridesmaids I called friends. My husband's oldest sister came off aloof and jealous before the wedding by ignoring me despite my efforts and afterwards she would constantly say "I don't know why people feel the need to do a wedding...I'd rather save the money." She and her husband had what's referred to as a "shotgun" customary marriage and later had a civil union at the court house. The second to youngest SIL is passive aggressive towards me and the youngest is indifferent towards me and it's a given where her loyalties lie which certainly and obviously won't be with me. I could give a number of examples of their behavior of exclusion and snide comments but I'm trying to work on shortening my comments I post, lol.
I’m so glad that you guys made this video! My fiancée found your video and sent it to me and I’m watching this while at work. She has been really upset these last few months because we are getting married this year and nobody has been helping. Old friends of hers who were to be bridesmaids have been showing their ass as you say in different ways. One tried to make it about her complaining about the hair and dress, another decided not to bring her money to buy her dress and then made a drama and dropped out of the wedding, another has been acting all jealous and angry just because she is single. We have our own place and saved up for years for the mortgage deposit with no help from our parents but nobody seems to be really happy for us. The few people who are coming through are the ones who we didn’t even expect to. The ones who were not close friends and family they are distant family and acquaintances but they are coming through and pulling their weight and taking flights to help out. My poor fiancée feels like she has lost all of the people that she thought were her real friends.
FlowersInTheRain first I would like to say I’m sorry that you are experiencing this. It’s very sad and stressful and something you definitely don’t want to experience at one of your happiest times. I must say people never discussed this part of marriage. I was shocked of the behavior of people. Marriage really shows you who is genuinely happy and who is bringing fake energy it will all be exposed but I believe it’s all for the better. Marriage is a new chapter and it shows you who is going to continue the journey and who will be left behind. My advice to you guys is as difficult as it seems please try to enjoy every minute of it. Even if that means you have to cut some people off at this point you are doing it for your sanity and you are trying to protect your peace and union. These people will continue to stress you if you allow them. My husband and I decided to make eliminations because people were showing out and having tantrums and we didn’t anyone ruining our day. After all the money spent and sacrifices we didn’t want to take that chance. Try to come to a resolution with these people but please don’t let them drain your energy. It’s not about the hair the dress the suit it’s about their MISERY and they are trying to find any and everything to cause trouble. I wish you guys the best and a beautiful wedding and if you need to vent we are here. Out wedding day was AMAZING and we have no regrets with our decision 3 years later
I can relate to this video! We were married at the courthouse 1st bc we were young, i was 21, and we didnt have much money at time. We had a wedding 3 years later. During our engagement my at the time step sister was trying her best to keep up with me and outdo me. The month after i was engaged, she was engaged to her baby daddy. Then she wanted me to help me plan her wedding as I was planning my own. Like what??! No lol. When it didnt work out with her baby daddy i was still kind enough to try and have her as a bridesmaid. Her and her 2 sisters. They accepted. But when it came time to start looking for shoes, their dresses etc, they were m.i.a. Long story short I chose new bridesmaids and they never showed up to my wedding 😂😂 They thought that if they didnt show up that i wouldn't have a wedding. She had been jealous of me years before that and my mom tried to tell me, i just didnt wanna believe it.
You got married. You got blessed. It is through the grace of God. I am 45 years old and still and very single. I see people getting married and boasting that God has blessed them and they are so happy. They did the "work". I think people should try to be humble. The same God that blesses some chooses not to bless others. I did everything. Stayed chaste was always in church. But others out there fornicating got "blessed" before me. People kept saying God l would bless me in due time but it never happened. Now when people tell me that l secretly 😄 . In the midst of your happiness please realize that others are mourning silently. The same God that says rejoice with those who rejoice says mourn with those who mourn. Noone would expect a woman who has had 6 miscarriages to be happy that her friend is pregnant with her fourth child. People who are barren are barren often through no fault if their own. Single women are really hurting and need friends. Its very painful to see others get blessed while you pray for decades and recieve nothing. But who is really there for the left over singles. After all your friends have married and you are all alone with your broken dreams. I pray 🙏 🙏 for single women especially in the church. Its really like being trapped in hell. I would never have imagined that when l made that decision to follow Christ my life would be what it is 🙁 . Don't even want to go to church anymore. As for weddings. I hope noone invites me. I got married at the justice of the peace. My husband and I are very low key people and each of us have participated in weddings of friends of ours in the past and we both can’t stand the drama. We figured more money we could put into our honeymoon and planned a dinner with my immediate family and his immediate family when we got back.

Ohhhh...boy oh boy I've since come to the realization 20 years ago that INDEED weddings have a way of bringing out the best and worse out of individuals. I just could NOT believe it but my... they, as in most of my bridal party began distancing themselves from me and behaving as if they can't stay on the phone or ignore you altogether, then lied about how I snubbed them and began distancing myself and won't come to their functions though I was never invited to their get togethers. I don't even talk to these "friends" I had as bridesmaids to this day...and indeed I've come to realize after being surprised and confused over the YEARS of their behavior that I've outgrown them...and that I was perhaps ahead of my time even then at 25 getting married.

I wish there were more videos like this. I live with my family and my siblings didn't even mention my wedding for 3 months after I got engaged. My friends are constantly asking how plans are going, if they can help with anything but my family NOTHING. To make matters worse, my sister even went as far as messaging my fiancee how difficult and problematic I am - AFTER she received an invitation to the Bridesmaids dinner. This video is not targeting single women I’m just giving my story of what I experienced. Please don’t tell me I’m assuming if I know what I went through. I can’t tell you to not feel what you feel and you can’t tell me I didn’t know what I experienced was jealousy. There were several things that transpired over the years. Looking back at this now I still feel the same and I agree I did have childish and immature friends. As a makeup artist I see a lot of drama between brides and friends. Sometimes the bride is wrong sometimes it’s the friends, family etc. every situation is different. Both parties will interpret it the way they see it. I have single friends, widowed, married etc. and I treat all my friends with respect because that’s how they deserve to be treated. I don’t judge my friends based on their marital status. Not sure how you interpreted that from this video smh

I found you guys on the other couples show, the and? I can’t remember the name but I saw this on yalls channel and HAD to watch. My husband and I got married a year ago after years of dating. When I started planning the wedding (which we did at our local courthouse) oh my gosh..: the few people that I thought were close to me and were kool, friends and co-workers you name it. She started to show extreme jealousy and it took me a while to confront her about it but everything was an issue. If I talk ya out a dress or the ring she started to compare and started shopping for a ring and she’s been married for 10 years plus. I also had a friend that was Hispanic that everyone told me was jealous of me and etc and I had to cut her off a year prior. It’s a shame that folks act like that and cannot our aside how they fee and be truly happy for the person in their special day
TheRealKeshia2 smh I’m sorry you had to experience that too, it’s very sickening that people act this way. A part of me feels like they are intentionally trying to ruin your happy moment because they are miserable and I can’t understand why someone would want to cause that kind of pain on someone they call a friend. I feel like gods puts in those situations to show us who is who and who we should leave behind. My husband went through it after the fact because his family found out after and we’re salty about it, it was really nuts. I feel the exact same way because misery loves company. I’ve also found that when you are a female and carry yourself confidently and assertively sometimes people envy that. I believe God does exactly that, to show us exactly who’s for us and who’s against us. My wedding happened 8 months ago and I still haven't taken the time to process it because it was just too much. Of everything you're talking about. I've never encountered jealousy of that magnitude. And never from my closest friends and family--people I thought were my rocks. The wake up call was huge. I can't even go past half this video because it's bringing it all back and idk if I'm ready to deal with it yet lol.

SAME EXPERIENCE...I thought I was about to get new friends/sisters through marriage but alas...my SILs were behaving much like my bridesmaids I called friends. My husband's oldest sister came off aloof and jealous before the wedding by ignoring me despite my efforts and afterwards she would constantly say "I don't know why people feel the need to do a wedding...I'd rather save the money." She and her husband had what's referred to as a "shotgun" customary marriage and later had a civil union at the court house. The second to youngest SIL is passive aggressive towards me and the youngest is indifferent towards me and it's a given where her loyalties lie which certainly and obviously won't be with me. I could give a number of examples of their behavior of exclusion and snide comments but I'm trying to work on shortening my comments I post, lol.
I’m so glad that you guys made this video! My fiancée found your video and sent it to me and I’m watching this while at work. She has been really upset these last few months because we are getting married this year and nobody has been helping. Old friends of hers who were to be bridesmaids have been showing their ass as you say in different ways. One tried to make it about her complaining about the hair and dress, another decided not to bring her money to buy her dress and then made a drama and dropped out of the wedding, another has been acting all jealous and angry just because she is single. We have our own place and saved up for years for the mortgage deposit with no help from our parents but nobody seems to be really happy for us. The few people who are coming through are the ones who we didn’t even expect to. The ones who were not close friends and family they are distant family and acquaintances but they are coming through and pulling their weight and taking flights to help out. My poor fiancée feels like she has lost all of the people that she thought were her real friends.
FlowersInTheRain first I would like to say I’m sorry that you are experiencing this. It’s very sad and stressful and something you definitely don’t want to experience at one of your happiest times. I must say people never discussed this part of marriage. I was shocked of the behavior of people. Marriage really shows you who is genuinely happy and who is bringing fake energy it will all be exposed but I believe it’s all for the better. Marriage is a new chapter and it shows you who is going to continue the journey and who will be left behind. My advice to you guys is as difficult as it seems please try to enjoy every minute of it. Even if that means you have to cut some people off at this point you are doing it for your sanity and you are trying to protect your peace and union. These people will continue to stress you if you allow them. My husband and I decided to make eliminations because people were showing out and having tantrums and we didn’t anyone ruining our day. After all the money spent and sacrifices we didn’t want to take that chance. Try to come to a resolution with these people but please don’t let them drain your energy. It’s not about the hair the dress the suit it’s about their MISERY and they are trying to find any and everything to cause trouble. I wish you guys the best and a beautiful wedding and if you need to vent we are here. Out wedding day was AMAZING and we have no regrets with our decision 3 years later
I can relate to this video! We were married at the courthouse 1st bc we were young, i was 21, and we didnt have much money at time. We had a wedding 3 years later. During our engagement my at the time step sister was trying her best to keep up with me and outdo me. The month after i was engaged, she was engaged to her baby daddy. Then she wanted me to help me plan her wedding as I was planning my own. Like what??! No lol.
When it didnt work out with her baby daddy i was still kind enough to try and have her as a bridesmaid. Her and her 2 sisters. They accepted. But when it came time to start looking for shoes, their dresses etc, they were m.i.a. Long story short I chose new bridesmaids and they never showed up to my wedding 😂😂 They thought that if they didnt show up that i wouldn't have a wedding. She had been jealous of me years before that and my mom tried to tell me, i just didnt wanna believe it.

You got married. You got blessed. It is through the grace of God. I am 45 years old and still and very single. I see people getting married and boasting that God has blessed them and they are so happy. They did the "work". I think people should try to be humble. The same God that blesses some chooses not to bless others. I did everything. Stayed chaste was always in church. But others out there fornicating got "blessed" before me. People kept saying God l would bless me in due time but it never happened. Now when people tell me that l secretly 😄 . In the midst of your happiness please realize that others are mourning silently. The same God that says rejoice with those who rejoice says mourn with those who mourn. Noone would expect a woman who has had 6 miscarriages to be happy that her friend is pregnant with her fourth child. People who are barren are barren often through no fault if their own. Single women are really hurting and need friends. Its very painful to see others get blessed while you pray for decades and recieve nothing. But who is really there for the left over singles. After all your friends have married and you are all alone with your broken dreams. I pray 🙏 🙏 for single women especially in the church. Its really like being trapped in hell. I would never have imagined that when l made that decision to follow Christ my life would be what it is 🙁 . Don't even want to go to church anymore. As for weddings. I hope noone invites me. I can't make myself be happy when my heart is heavy with this grief.
Love yourself blessed!!! Securing a marriage is great but please don’t fall into this hype that you are nothing because you are unmarried. Love yourself please and don’t compare yourself to other women. Grown mature women don’t look down on unmarried single friends and grown mature single women are not envious of their friends. Those married women should lift you up instead of saying you hating on their blessing. Peace god loves you❤️

Sophia Euphia it’s a sad reality but it happens often in weddings. Some people really struggle to be happy for others but hopefully you can eliminate the drama before it effects your wedding day.

I got married at the justice of the peace. My husband and I are very low key people and each of us have participated in weddings of friends of ours in the past and we both can’t stand the drama. We figured more money we could put into our honeymoon and planned a dinner with my immediate family and his immediate family when we got back.

Ohhhh...boy oh boy I've since come to the realization 20 years ago that INDEED weddings have a way of bringing out the best and worse out of individuals. I just could NOT believe it but my... they, as in most of my bridal party began distancing themselves from me and behaving as if they can't stay on the phone or ignore you altogether, then lied about how I snubbed them and began distancing myself and won't come to their functions though I was never invited to their get togethers. I don't even talk to these "friends" I had as bridesmaids to this day...and indeed I've come to realize after being surprised and confused over the YEARS of their behavior that I've outgrown them...and that I was perhaps ahead of my time even then at 25 getting married.

I can not stop to comment about how much I agreed with your two's views. It pointing towards “problems” of our society so sharply! And our individuals need to see more video like yours. This video is a great one example of letting individual face their own darkness from reflection.

I live with my family and my siblings didn't even mention my wedding for 3 months after I got engaged. My friends are constantly asking how plans are going, if they can help with anything but my family NOTHING.
To make matters worse, my sister even went as far as messaging my fiancee how difficult and problematic I am - AFTER she received an invitation to the Bridesmaids dinner. She doesn't know I know this because I don't know how to address this without completely burning our bridge. I'm trying to forgive but it's hard.

Well there wouldn't be any jealousy , if people when they get married stop posting their rings, wedding photos, ect... every fucking hour on face book , that is just asking for jealousy. And stop showing off your ring in a low key way , that means pretending to reach across someone to show off your ring. doing all of this plus other things draws jealousy.
