Copenhagen... But, in all honesty, I suspect there's much that remains unknown. I don't mean Einstein's hidden variables, I mean some foundational stuff of quantum theory. I suspect there will be a more fundamental theory that explains both QM and GR in a very different way that may paint a very different picture of the world - maybe even string theory!
Instead of "many worlds", think "thicker world". Picture the Universe as a flat sheet. It's not that the universe splits, because that would mean the past has split and everything outside that event's light cone also split, which can't happen. So the Universe just gets a little local "bulge" where the possible outcomes all exists simultaneously, but if you go beyond that event's realm of influence, the Universe re-merges into a singular "flat" state. Also, I really like the simplicity of the new theory where all states exist and can be experienced by different particles interacting with the uncertain event until one state propagates more than the rest and retroactively overwrites the other possible states. It's like a quantum whisper game where in the end, whichever event gets seen the most gets chosen. It kinda makes quantum events democratic. It explains some experiments where the taking a measurement seems to change an outcome in the past. It also explains the spooky "conscious observer" effects that Schroedinger's cat is based on, where a measurement read by a human behaves differently to one read by an unthinking detector: the one outcome the human witnesses propagates throughout the entire mind, which is orders of magnitudes more quanta than a normal uncertain state interacts with. That amount of quanta being encoded with that outcome is more than enough to force that outcome to be the one the Universe settles on.
Do not ever trip while watching this show. Trust me. You do not want to experience it. And if it could be a good experience, then it would have to be a very specific episode but avoid any episodes with killing or red/sharp objects in them

Off the bat we go man says we would see only blacks because light travels and requires time. If you froze time and you are walking you kind of "walk into the ligh beams", we would definitely see colors, pictures, but would they be disorted or mixed is a question. Light bouncess off surfaces and hits our eyes under angles and provides us with vision. = we walk and hit light that is stopped in space around us. Someone doesn't see what's in front of us, but we see it, if you froze the time and swapped places with that person it would just be otherwise. Those light beams would still be there. But what if by walking in stopped time we would move light beams around us? Wouldn't we in that case leave void, absorb the light and see, but going back the same way see the 'blacks'?
I've been thinking about it for so long, that if you stopped time you'll stop everything including light, and might not be able to see. But on the other hand, the light is frozen so if you move around and catch those frozen lights, will you be able to process them?
The first example where they “freeze time” you wouldn’t see just black. Theoretically For “time” to freeze means every particle/wave would also stop in space. Meaning the light in your eye wouldn’t be able to move so you would in fact see the frozen image depending on your relative motion from the object you are viewing. If you are moving away from the subject you would see all the light leading up to that place and time and if you went twords the subject you would see black because the light hasn’t yet been reflected off the subject.
Well no, in your eyes you receive a constant flow of visual information… if time froze you wouldn’t receive wave particles so it WOULD go dark. Your eye isn’t a vacuum that sucks up light, its an open pocket that only registers the light that hits the back of your retinae. Even if you moved forward to physically create that effect you’d be missing important visual information from waves that were radiating from below/above/beside your eye’s position wouldn’t reach before ur head pushed past the light particle. So if you could see by physically moving so that light would collect in the back of your retinae, it would be extremely uninterpretable
In Rick and Morty it's pretty obvious that they didn't exactly freeze time, but sort of stop the motion of all things. That's why light can still bounce off objects and Jerry collects dust.
its Rick Sanchez from dimension C-137; of course he adjusted the time pause to exclude photons.... i thought a physicist would me smawwt enough to know that
what if you could choose what is frozen? obviously Rick can because he himself, Morty, and his sister are not, so Obviously he could choose not to freeze Light.
What does being frozen mean? How does a device choose what is being frozen? The people, birds, plants are frozen, probably also the buildings. That means the sun ages while the humans don't? Also what happens when light touches on frozen people? There are tiny reactions happening making them being visible to us. The idea is good, and I'm trying to salvage "freezing time" in fiction too. But there'd be so many physics problems.
your point about light being frozen in time is analogous to the invisible Man not being able to see because light won't reflect against what the back of his eyeball I love how people see so much reality in science fiction that was written that started with Mary Shelley's book Frankenstein's monster is considered by literary critics to be the first science fiction book so thank you physicist
When particles travel at 100% speed of light they don't experience time, so if rick freeze time does that mean light also stop or it won't be affected as per einstein's theory of special relativity? Thank you in advance for answering my question.
An Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omnibenevolent god is contradictory. God contradicts all laws of physics. It's pretty simple. In science you prioritize rationality over emotion. You use the scientific method . You use empirical evidence. Faith is belief without empirical evidence. Often scientists reject the belief of god because his existence would contradict all laws of science.
@@wubzy968 I second that and I'm agnostic, but what if the reason you can't find scientific evidence is because religion and science don't have a relation👀?

All this nonsense about how you should “believe” is because religion has such a weak case they need simple minded people to just take them at their word and blindly follow whatever they say so they can continue brainwashing people for generations. Break the cycle.
@1 you like to assume a lot I see. That’s fine Ile let you continue to assume cause it doesn’t matter what your opinions about my success are. Besides that your argument for religion is weak. “It comforts people” or “they’re more productive “ sorry but that’s just not enough to justify the atrocities caused by it. Also Lots of things drive productivity that aren’t harmful to society. Mainly the will to survive. I want to eat and therefore I work. I wanted a decent house so again I have drive for productivity. You don’t need to believe in Santa to be ok. That’s called growing up. You get to a point where you start using common sense instead of just believing what your parents or adults around you told you.

Interestingly enough, the speed of light can change in a vacuum, there's some new studies about it, and by new I mean a few years old
This guys tryna jump on the Legal Eagle, Dr Mike, sexy smart guy type. I respect the hustle
I've been thinking about it for so long, that if you stopped time you'll stop everything including light, and might not be able to see. But on the other hand, the light is frozen so if you move around and catch those frozen lights, will you be able to process them?

@@MikeTaffet 😂😂😂😂
The first example where they “freeze time” you wouldn’t see just black. Theoretically For “time” to freeze means every particle/wave would also stop in space. Meaning the light in your eye wouldn’t be able to move so you would in fact see the frozen image depending on your relative motion from the object you are viewing. If you are moving away from the subject you would see all the light leading up to that place and time and if you went twords the subject you would see black because the light hasn’t yet been reflected off the subject.
Ok
Why can’t teachers explain everything as easily as you.
Unfortunately no stopping time would stop photons the particles of light normally moving at the speed of light

An Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omnibenevolent god is contradictory. God contradicts all laws of physics. It's pretty simple. In science you prioritize rationality over emotion.
