Still the best video out there for heel pad taping. I've been pain free for more than 6 years thanks to this video but my heel hurts again so here I am thanking you again Dr K! Last time I was in pain for nearly 5 years with misdiagnosed plantar fasciitis, but only two weeks of taping and it was gone. 🙏
21 dislikes are from the podiatrists who don’t want their patients to see what will actually help them so they can tell everyone they have PF and sell more ridiculously priced custom orthotics. Thank you SO much for putting this video out! Just bought some tape so I can try this! I am a new grad nurse in the ICU and those long shifts on my feet are unbearably painful 😰 I am praying this helps 🙏🏼
I believe this is what I have. I get so angry seeing post after post telling me heel pain is right here with plantar fasciitis. NO, my heal pain is not there. NO, my calves are not tight. NO, it doesn't hurt when I stretch this way or that way. The pain is in the back of my heel at the bottom a tiny bit farther back than this video but basically the same thing. It's like my heel is bruised. This is what it is. My pain does not lesson after I start walking when I wake up. It's constant and the same weather I wear shoes or are barefoot. I am obese and pushed myself too far while walking. When I walk I walk as fast as I can as far as I can for about an hour. Well one day I felt really good and I did it in the morning and then again at night. The next day it felt like somebody took a club and beat the back of my heal.
Mean....I'm a Podiatrists and I never start with orthotics. How would you like it if I started criticizing nurses? I've been one of them also and there is stuff I could say
Okay so I’ve been doing this religiously and it’s been one month. The pain is healed, I think it’s totally healed back but I’m going to continue another 2 weeks to be sure. I am so very grateful for you and your information!
Well, I don't know if I had plantar fasciitis or heel fat pad syndrome of both (I had symptoms that encompassed both conditions) but after 4 months of heel pain I'm finally free of that pain. I used the taping method explained here for 3 weeks. I felt great improvement in the first days, then it slowed down a bit with a couple of setbacks but week after week the trend was clearly positive. After 3 weeks I stopped taping as I only had residual pain upon waking up in the mornings and I was already able to resume my exercise routine. Pain went from an 8 to a 2 out of 10 in that 3-week span. Now, after 2 weeks without taping it's down to a 1. I didn't do any other treatment during that time (not stretching or massaging, no podiotrics, just taping). Thank you so much Doc! That video from 8 years ago was a blessing for me!
Like your recent patient, I was previously diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. Cortisone, physical therapy and ultimately a set of orthotics succeeded in alleviating the pain for more than twenty years. Recently, however, my heel pain returned, but this time it was a sharper, more concentrated pain whose origin was further back in my heel...not near the arch as before. Regardless, I tried sleeping with my night splint; that didn't seem to help, so I turned to the many PF videos I found on RUclips. Among those videos was this one on FPS, and I figured it couldn't hurt to watch it. At first, I was REALLY skeptical that simply taping my foot would actually yield any sort of positive result. I was totally stunned, however, to discover that after taping my foot in accordance with your instructions herein, I put my shoe back on and found that the pain I'd been enduring for the last three weeks was immediately and completely gone! Your video, Dr. Wil, is a true life-saver and I can't thank you enough for sharing your input!!!
I’ve been taught by my physio, as well as several other videos on YT, to have the tape tightly under the heel. After doing so for a few months but still experiencing pain, I noticed it felt much better without the taping. Now, looking at your video your way of taping makes so much more sense to try to push down the fat from the sides, rather than forcing it upwards towards the heel bone. I’ll give this a try ASAP.
Thanks so much. I am a PT, my name is Lisa. And thanks to your demo I was able to immediately provide relief to my 65 year old patient who suffers from fat pad syndrome and hadn't been able to walk for two months.
Awesome!!! I left my podiatrist yesterday who said that I could not heal nor prevent fat pad atrophy. I think you’re more deserving of my co-pay than he was :). Thank you for caring to share this wisdom. Blessings 🌸
Excellent! Thanks to generous practitioners like you, my life has been improved. I especially liked how you explained the difference between the two conditions. I think I'll send this on to my (ex) podiatrist so he can educate himself.
For 4 days I’ve been doing the taping exactly as you demonstrated and I am thrilled to report that I have no pain in my foot at all. I think when I first did it I taped the arch too tightly and that’s what caused the pain. Since I’ve been doing this I’ve been able to walk like a Normal Person and I’m so very pleased that your instruction seems to be working great. Thank you a million times!
Thank you so much for posting my wife has had foot pain for some time now, she was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis; we've bought orthotics, high end shoes and she has seen podiatrists with no relief from the pain, stumbled on to your video and it made sense she felt instant relief after taping her foot! Thanks again
OMG - I just came across this. I’ve gone through a whole lot of treatment - tried pretty much everything- for plantar fasciitis and nothing works. The pain is where you describe it so I’m going to try this !!! Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for sharing, Doc. This has made walking effortless again. I suspected my PF diagnosis was wrong too. I have successfully treated PF in the past, but that protocol doesn’t work for heel pad fat thinning, which I undoubtedly have after 49 years of use. So relieved to know this condition heals! Now, if I could lose the fat where I WANT to lose it...
Holy shit. I think you saved me from getting cut…THANKU. I focused my heal and after 2 years of cortisone shots it deteriorated my heel pad. Not to mention I’m hunter- so wow you’re the BEST. My POD did not mention this
This has been HUGE for me. It really works, thank you so much. I can't wait for my feet to heal but until then this is the next best thing. Your work truly changes lives, thanks again.
Thanks Dr. Wil for the clear explanation differentiating PF from Heel Pad syndrome. I'm self diagnosing HP syndrome that came on suddenly at the start of a run. The pain is very localized and sharp when weight bearing on the lateral side of the heel pad. This taping technique really helped alleviate pain during walking. And sure saves a lot of money guessing on what kind of ankle brace, walking boot, or orthotic to buy while healing.
I needed this. As a massage therapist I disagreed.with the 2 doctors that diagnosed me with plantar fascitis. I told them it was a heel pad tissue issue because my pain was in the center of my heel and my plantar tendon was not tight or irritated. They got irritated wi th me for telling them they were wrong. Now on that foot my Achilles tendon tends to get tight at my highest pain times, is that just inflammation from the heel? The kids in the background was so cute! Tell them I waved hi back!😂
Inflammation can definitely cause other tissues in the area to hurt. But I would also encourage you to assess your calf and soleus muscle for tightness. Some gentle stretching of both those muscles may be needed. And check both sides to see if you have an imbalance between the two calves.
Wow this literally works magic! I been having heel pain along with planter fascitis problems and I tried many different sneakers along with so many different soles and nothing worked! This right here soothes so much while walking and literally put me in a great mood instantly! I feel barely any pain when walking and I have to say after watching so many videos and trying different things, this right here has been the best ever! Thank you man so much!!
I know it’s been a long time since you posted this video but I wanted to to thank you. I did this exactly as you described today and it’s like I’m a new person. Thank you so much sir, this is absolutely life changing for me!!!!!
Vasco Mota I did!!!!! Gotta do the work though! You can do this bud!!! I even run now and it was bad before. Take total control and responsibility for it and you’ll recover for sure. Stretches, lots of stretches. Lay in bed and don’t even get out in the morning until you’ve stretched yourself out ok? Look up some strength training specifically for this and do those daily. Whenever you feel good.......yup.....keep stretching!
I'm so glad I found this! I had surgery last year for an achille's tendon repair and bone spur removal. I have since developed a horrible pain on my heel when on my feet for any length of time. This is exactly what I've been experiencing. Thank you so much!!
Thank you. I too was misdiagnosed with plantar f. and tibial nerve damage for 4 yrs. Recently my chiropractor figured it out. I taped it as you show and now I can walk again with no pain or the thought of getting pain in the heel. Thanks also for explaining about changing it every 2 days and giving me hope that it could heal. Now I can exchange the cane for tape. Note: if you press on the centre of the heel fat pad you can actually feel the bone.
Gosh, I have been battling this and going to podiatrists for two years now and none have mentioned my fat pad,or taped the way that you showed. I taped it just now. Thank you! I will post if it has helped me significantly.😊
This worked very well for me, thanks! The doctor had continued to tell me that the pain was due to PF, but I knew it was not because a splint did nothing to it. I did have PF many years ago and the splint quickly fix it. II was able to play squash again and had no pain. Great solution to help heal.
Absolutely wonderful vid. The taping job helped immediately!! I have heel fat pad syndrome and posterior tibial nerve impingement which have been wreaking havoc on walking, working out, yoga, and many ADL. 🙏🏽
Thank you so much Dr Wil! I injured my fat pad when I put the bottom of my foot on a strong water jet in a hot tub. It's been a long 8 weeks of my foot getting worse instead of better. I start a new job tomorrow where I'll be walking and on my feet a lot. This technique makes it so much better - and I know I'll be able to do my work. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. I've had plantar fasciitis for more than a year. Saw a podiatrist and was referred to another doctor's office, where I was fitted for epensive custom orthotics. These made my foot feel even worse. My podiatrist mentioned I had little heel pad left. So why would I want rigid orthotics? The only thing that made my feet feel better was the Hoka One One slides I wear around the house, which provide lots of cushioning. So your video made SO much sense to me. I started taping my foot, as you instructed, about a month ago -- every day. The improvement has been tremendous. Yesterday I went out for a long walk, interspersed with a bit of running (maybe 10-15%), and my heel felt fine. And it continued to feel fine today. I am so relieved to have found an easy, inexpensive treatment that works for me. Can't tell you how great it felt to get out and actually run, after more than a year off!
Sweet! Thanks. Just found out yesterday after dealing with pain in heel for over 4 months that it was NOT Plantar Fasciitis...but Heel Pad Syndrome. Many thanks for your taping reco.
Rick Lohre We are happy to hear that you found something to work for you. That is the most important thing. Not all treatments are a 100% fit for everyone; that is why multiple treatments exist for specific conditions. Thanks for your comment.
+Pam Rivera Thanks for watching! We would love to hear back from you on your results. Any further questions, just let us know. Have a great day! Dr. Wil
My PF seems to be getting better, but this guide is excellent for taping up and healing this condition. Others have also recommended wearing appropriate shoes while the healing is taking place - shoes that offer strong cushioning for the heels, and flexibility for the rest of the foot.
Thank you so VERY much for this video!!! I was diagnosed with PF 7 years ago and have been in pain ever since. It has gotten unbearable. I was just told today by a different Dr that its more than likely FPS. I just taped up my foot and I could cry! The pain is so much better. I will continue to do this and hope this fixes the problem.
Thanks for your comment! We could not be happier for you. That is great news! Taping will allow your fat pad to heal, but this may take up to a season to occur (2-3 months).
I tried this and it hurt like hell. I had to take off the tape within minutes. I thought I only had plantar fasciitis but I have fat pad syndrome. I tried the treadmill for the first time in months and my plantar fascia did not hurt. The area around my fat pad started to have moderate pain. After that 15 min treadmill, I decided to try this tape method. Maybe Ill give it another try after my inflammation goes down tomorrow.
Roberto Madrigal Hello and Thanks for watching. Sorry to hear that you are having troubles with your heel. Taping your heel in this fashion may take some practice to get it just right. Based on your comment, I would hold off running until your heel pad improves. The hardest thing an athlete has to do is to be patient and take time for their body to heal. Continue to tape in this fashion and gradually increase the intensity of your activities. Start with walking and gradually increase to running. If you are more accustomed to higher intensity exercise, choose something that requires less impact such as biking or using the elliptical machine. Heel fat pad syndrome is atrophy of the heel fat pad. It will take some time for it to come back. I would also recommend that as you gradually increase your activities to running, that you adopt a stride that involves less heel striking. Running more flat footed or more on the forefoot, will take pressure off of the heel. Thanks again for watching and your comment. We wish you a quick recovery.
Thanks for the reply. What do you think of the effectiveness of heel cups for the fat pad recovery in addition to taping itself? Can I use them at the same time? Also, how long does it take to recover the fat pad with this taping method? Thanks alot!
Hello! Regarding your question, in our experience heel cups do help if used in both shoes. If used in just one shoe, your gait will be altered due to leg length discrepancy which may lead to other issues. Sometimes, heel cups can be more troublesome due to their tendency to shift while you walk or run. Try it out and see how it goes. Healing time for heel fat pad syndrome varies from individual to individual based upon the severity and current activity levels. Generally, just a like a broken bone, 4-6 weeks. It can take as long as a full season depending upon the severity and current activity level. You want to give your heel enough time for the heel fat pad to grow back. Thanks again for watching and your inquiry. We hope you have a quick recovery.
THANK YOU for this! I've been thinking Plantar Facitus and this is exactly what's wrong fat pad. I work on my feet all day on asphalt and its excruciating most days! Thank you again!
Thank you so much for this video! I just taped up my heel and I'm hoping for some relief. I was diagnosed a few months back with PF but I've always doubted I have it since I have no arch pain. It's always the center of my heel and sometimes the sides. I bought some tape today because I'm more convinced I have the heel pad syndrome since my pain is worse the more I stand on it as opposed to walking around.
Most stupid podiatrists in USA jump into a conclusion after hearing heel pain , as PF......... but not always............ it could be FPA ( fat pad atrophy )
I fell off a ladder 2 months ago and landed right on my heel. I am still limping around 2 months later. So I will give this taping technique a try! Thanks!
Excellent. I’ve been in two minds as to whether I have plantar fasciitis or the heel pad problem. Seeing that, I’m convinced I have the heel problem so will try the tape method . Thanks very much. Ian Pye (from U.K.)
Thank you so much for this video! I've been dealing with FPS for 8yrs now from a car accident and I'm really getting fed up with it as of late. I've been icing the heck out of them, elevating them, using gel inserts and shoes with memory foam.. Everything but taking a hacksaw to my feet.. It's come close, believe me. I just had surgery this past January for the 3rd time on the left foot and soon to be 2nd time on the right foot this winter. The heel was something I was gonna talk over for this upcoming surgery among the multiple other problems it's having.. The poor foot was severed off 8yrs back so it's bound to have problems lol but the heel... The heel is the most annoying thing! Can't even walk around barefoot anymore. I'm getting off the subject... THANK YOU SO MUCH! I hope this eleveates some of the horrendous pain! I'm so trying this tomorrow! 😊
xoxdandyxox Thanks for sharing with us. I hope that you are able to find some relief with this technique. Let us know how it goes, we would like to hear back from you. Dr. Wil
Thank you for the thorough explanation about the location of the plantar fasciitis vs loss of fat in the fat pad of the heel. I have been dealing with pain in the heel for 1 1/2 years. Two different podiatrists wanted to fit me for expensive custom orthotics. I tried all the stretches and various arch supports and nothing has taken the pain in my heel away. Your advise makes perfect sense. I hope I have finally found my issue.
I look forward to giving it a try. I've had issues for over a year. Golf in particular sets it off. Tried the usual gamete of inserts. "Foot Dr." made me an orthotic which helped but the pain is just like you indicated, dead center of the heel. I do ice and stretching which has to help but it never goes away. "Foot Dr." offered a cortisone shot, which I agreed to out of desperation. That was an INTENSE pain situation which I will never ever do again. I really have no pain except in the center of the heel. So thanks for a reasonable option which will be cheap to try.
THAMK YOU!! Everyone kept telling me it was plantar fasciitis! But that’s not where the pain is!! I’m looking forward to trying this out! I need to go buy some tape in the morning ... hope this works ;)
@@MoveWellLiveWell Wrapping my ankle area did help, but I could only leave it on for a few hours as I think I did it too tight. It’s very hard to put them on myself as I have severe arthritis in my knees.
+Phyllis Spaulding Thanks for watching! Let us know how this works for you, and if any further questions, feel free to contact us via email at rivervalleychirogj.com or through our websites. Have a great day! Dr. Wil
Gunna try it right now! Ive bought braces and all kinds of things for plantar fasciitis and it has not worked. Where you pointed is exactly where my pain is. The other night I rolled my heel on a dryer ball and could feel something crunching like it was breaking apart. I think it went flat and a cluster of fat was in one spot. Felt so good to break it apart but I will do this and finish the healing job. :)
Hello- I have fat pad pain and I was just treated with shockwave therapy- I see mixed review as to whether or not this type of treatment is appropriate or even could be a detriment to healing. Does anyone have experience?
Thank you for tutorial on taping. I skateboard on ramps recreationally, and about a month ago I slammed my left heel down hard. The pain point is where you showed, but half an inch further back and toward groin. I've skated twice since, and re inflamed twice. I'm trying your method now to see if it helps. Will reply with results
Based on how you are describing your mechanism of injury and without an exam, it sounds like you may have a bone bruise in addition to fat pad syndrome. Response time to this heel taping will vary depending on individual conditions and severity. Yours may require a little longer treatment due to the impact injury while skateboarding. We are thrilled to hear you are finding relief after just three days. Dr. Wil
After trying this for a few days, this does seem to be making a noticeable difference. Thankyou for the very clear demo & instructions. Going forward, I assume it is the same advice you give to others (i.e. continue taping for a a few months then try a day without tape whilst icing in between times ?)
I suffer from Fat Pad in my heel. My pain comes and goes. This last pain cycle hurt for about a month. Now it's gone again it's been about 3 days ago it went away. My questions is, why does my fat pad pain comes & goes ? And why don't you wrap the bottom of the heel where the fat pad is located?
I am feeling pain in my heel, so I have been watching youtube videos for remedy for 2 days, and everybody talking about plantar fasciitis spot but I am experiencing pain at the centre of my heel as it shown in this video. Now I know what I can do to cure my heel pain which is actually in heel fat pad not in the plantar fasciitis. Thanks. But I have a question that what kinda tape I should use it for?.
Hi Dr. Will. This is a great video. I have plantar fat pad atrophy. Do you have any suggestions on how to tape to push the fat into the bony metatarsal area in my plantar area? Thanks in advance!
Ive been wondering what my heel pain is from and this seem like the answer. Its weird as it just the heel of my right foot. Left side no pain. Im going to try taping to see if this can help me.
Dear Dr Wil & Dr K..I wondered by watching your video about ''taping the heel'' by Pad Syndrome..if there is also a way to tape the front of the foot that way..because I have a Pad Syndrome in the whole foot..even at bot feet! When I tried the way of taping my heels like in the video I was so pleasently surpriced it helps this way to create a natural cushion..then knowing it can also heal the Pad Syndrome that way is even wonderful news..so i hope you can show me how to tape the front/ball of the foot we say in Dutch/ aswell
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I'm SURE I have this in addition to plantar fasciitis. I feel much more balanced after a couple of chiropractic appointments, but my heel is still killing me, and it feels like some tissues are moving around there. Will heel cups do the same thing or is taping the way to go? Should you also massage it?
Maria Schmidt Hello and thanks for your comment. Taping as demonstrated in the above video will provide you with a cushion for a few days to allow the inflammation in your heel to subside and decrease pain. Heel cups are one size fits all and may not provide as much benefit and are often limited in what shoes they will work in. Taping for fat pad syndrome will demonstrate whether this is the problem and if it will be helpful. From your results you can then decide how to proceed. Massaging an area of pain is often beneficial to break up any scar tissue and increase circulation to the area which is healing. You also can apply ice at the end of the day to decrease inflammation for 20 minutes on and 40 minutes off. Remember to always use a protective layer like a cloth between an ice pack and your skin. Hope this is helpful and comment to let us know how the taping works out. Dr. Wil
Hey Dr! Thanks for the great video demo! I have heel bone pain as well as pain directly on the bottom of my metatarsal bones. Is there a way to tape up the forefoot to increase cushion in the metatarsal area? Ans/or any other recommendations?
Will it fix it for good? I was just at my doc and got another cortisone shot and he mentioned that if the pain doesn't stop, next will be surgery. Also, do you still recommend the tape in the video or do you have other brands you prefer to use now? What about for people with sensitive skin issues?
Hi Dr Wil, I am having this heel pain issue for almost 18 months and has yet to resolve it. I need your expert opinions on what I am actually suffering from. Down here in my country, I will need to wait for months for a session with the sports medicine specialist. This is a list of events over the past 18 months. 1. Aug 2014, purchased a kick scooter and went riding it while wearing slippers. Bad ideas because I could not get the kicking correct on my left foot and it strikes quite often on hard ground. 2. Sep 2014, woke up in the morning with sharp pain on my heel. The pain went away after walking for a few mins. Did not do anything about it. 3. Dec 2014, purchased a night splint from ebay and started wearing it. Roll my foot on a wooden pastry roller every day and managed to reduce the morning pain. 4. April 2015, purchased a pair of crocs and started wearing daily. Felt quite ok with dull pain. 5. Aug 2015, Continued all the routines above plus wearing crocs shoes. Took off night splint at night and not much pain in the morning. 6. Nov 2015, thought that the foot has healed completely and started wearing VANs sneakers with minimum cushioning. I believed that I've step onto something hard or a stone while walk around with the pair of VANs sneakers. 7. Apr 2016, dull pain started to come back again. Started wooden pin rolling and does not really takes the pain away. 8. May 2016, purchased customized in-soles with arch support and worn it for a month. Dull pain exist while flexing the foot or pressing on the lateral side of the heel edge towards the back. 9. Jun 2016, started wearing back the crocs and the pain got lesser. But once I started rolling the bottom of the heel using wooden pin. The dull pain would come back again. Based on the list of events above. Do you think I have plantar fasciitis or heel fat syndrome? My pain is mostly at the lateral side of the heel edge towards the back of the heel. And no pain at the heel area closer to the arch. Rolling the heel on wooden pin activates the dull pain and was not relieving pain like it used to back in Dec 2014. The guy which I've purchased the in-sole from told me that heel fat syndrome will not heal. Once the fats has worn out. It can never recover. How true is this doctor? If it does heal, why is my pain continuing for 18 months. Not serious pain but slight discomfort or dull pain. Thanks Dr Wil. I hope that you can provide me with some expert advice.
hello i heard that fat pad athropy or necrosis cannot regenerate and heal itselg. I read that it is permanent pain. i have also fat pad athropy . I will try that. Can you tell me is it possible to be pain free after a while? If it is usually how long the patients suffer from this? I am 26 years old and i feel hopeless please help
Hello and Thanks for Watching!😄Sorry to hear about your condition. The fat pad WILL HEAL but it takes time. In some folks, it has taken up to a full season to become symptom free. Perform the taping religiously and Be Patient. Thanks again for watching and your inquiry. Keep us posted on your progress.
@@MoveWellLiveWell It turns out ı have both plantar facitiss and also fat pad athropy. I wonder that can we do foot and ankle exercises while it is taped? will it give any harm?
thank you for this video. I did as you said and it was working! Then I started having skin breakdown (reaction from the tape on the top of my foot) I stopped taping to allow the wound to heal but the pain in my heel started to become worse, even though I have been using a heel cup as the docotors recommended. Do you have any recommendations that would allow me to use your taping technique again without the risk of skin breakdown. I possibly could be sensitive to the adhesive since this sometimes occurs with other bandages as well. thank you.

Has it helped a year later?
Thanks so much. I am a PT, my name is Lisa. And thanks to your demo I was able to immediately provide relief to my 65 year old patient who suffers from fat pad syndrome and hadn't been able to walk for two months.

U most right stupid podiatrists know only plantar fasciitis.......................
Thank you a million times!
just want to ask which kind of tape did u used? Thanks ahead

Thanks again
see. sometimes the non specialist is more useful.
After 15 years of horrible pain many doc telling me I have PF. I diagnosed myself and today after your taping video, I have way less pain!!
Hello and Thanks for Watching!😄We are happy to hear that this video found you and has helped. Thanks again for watching and your comment.
Thank you for watching.
Lori Hewig Sorry for the delay in replying to your comment. I am so happy to hear this taping technique is providing you relief. Dr. Wil
How long did it take to recover 100%?
Vasco Mota, couple months BUT I did the exercises, lots weight and built up a strong foot.
@@michaeljohnson2922
Ok, and And did you recover completely?
Vasco Mota I did!!!!! Gotta do the work though! You can do this bud!!! I even run now and it was bad before. Take total control and responsibility for it and you’ll recover for sure. Stretches, lots of stretches. Lay in bed and don’t even get out in the morning until you’ve stretched yourself out ok? Look up some strength training specifically for this and do those daily. Whenever you feel good.......yup.....keep stretching!
@@michaeljohnson2922 Thank you !
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve tried heel inserts and ortho shoes, but this taping technique has helped ease my heel pain more than anything!!!
That’s great news. Thanks for watching.
I love that you are showing how to do it on yourself !
+Rick Lohre Thanks for watching. How has the taping worked out for you?
Rick Lohre did the tape help out? and around how long did it take to heal?
Honestly, didn't really help as much as a set of gel heel pads did.
Rick Lohre We are happy to hear that you found something to work for you. That is the most important thing. Not all treatments are a 100% fit for everyone; that is why multiple treatments exist for specific conditions. Thanks for your comment.
@@TeamFITBODY Hı Rick how you now? how long did it take to heal? i also have fat pad sendrome i am so afraid that it could be permanent
Thank you! Went to a PT who gave me this diagnosis (after thinking it was Plantar Fasciitis forever), but no treatment strategies. Love this idea!
Can you link me to some literature that suggests the plantar heel fat pad will "heal"? I don't think it has the capacity to heal naturally.
hey, has it healed?
@@ionicguy4919 is it?? i wanted to know exacly same thing . Is it possible to heal?
I thought I had plantar fasciitis until I watched your video and tried your taping method. Wow...great pain relief. Thanks!
You are most welcome! We are so happy to hear that you have found relief. Thanks for watching! -Dr Wil
Thank you, I’ve been suffering for,3 months now where I can’t put pressure on my heal at all.
THANK YOU for this! I've been thinking Plantar Facitus and this is exactly what's wrong fat pad. I work on my feet all day on asphalt and its excruciating most days! Thank you again!
Thanks for the video, this is exatcly where my heel pain is from.
Hello I too have same problem........... would like to discuss with you please
Hello and Thanks for Watching!😄We are happy to hear that this video found you. Keep us posted on your progress.
hi laura how is your pain now? did you get relief?
Most stupid podiatrists in USA jump into a conclusion after hearing heel pain , as PF......... but not always............ it could be FPA ( fat pad atrophy )
I fell off a ladder 2 months ago and landed right on my heel. I am still limping around 2 months later. So I will give this taping technique a try! Thanks!
The kids in the background made me laugh
I am so excited I found your video. I have excruciating pain from atrophy (too many cortisone shots). THANK YOU!! I WILL DO IT TOMORROW.
Thank you. I begin this tomorrow!!
Excellent. I’ve been in two minds as to whether I have plantar fasciitis or the heel pad problem. Seeing that, I’m convinced I have the heel problem so will try the tape method .
Thanks very much. Ian Pye (from U.K.)
Thanks, I'm a PT and had never seen this technique.

+xoxdandyxox hi, how are you doing as of now with the taping?
xoxdandyxox i
Thanks. This has been the only thing that has given me any relief.
Hi, Thanks for that now I know how to tape confidently at home.
Are you better now?
You may have changed my life. I'll let you know how the healing goes from here. Ive had chronic pain for nearly ten years.
Hello and Thanks for Watching! We are so happy that this video found you. Happy healing and we wish you continued good health.
and how is it going now?
I look forward to giving it a try. I've had issues for over a year. Golf in particular sets it off. Tried the usual gamete of inserts. "Foot Dr." made me an orthotic which helped but the pain is just like you indicated, dead center of the heel. I do ice and stretching which has to help but it never goes away. "Foot Dr." offered a cortisone shot, which I agreed to out of desperation. That was an INTENSE pain situation which I will never ever do again. I really have no pain except in the center of the heel. So thanks for a reasonable option which will be cheap to try.
Thanks so much for this! I have been trying to treat the wrong thing for months!!
THAMK YOU!! Everyone kept telling me it was plantar fasciitis! But that’s not where the pain is!! I’m looking forward to trying this out! I need to go buy some tape in the morning ... hope this works ;)

what a very interesting and simple demo- a great guy-
Hello- I have fat pad pain and I was just treated with shockwave therapy- I see mixed review as to whether or not this type of treatment is appropriate or even could be a detriment to healing. Does anyone have experience?
I have this condition and it was treated with shockwave thinking it was plantar fasciitis. Shockwave made things way worse.
Thanks Doc, it helps me a lot. Better than gel pads etc.
Louie Lou so has your heals healed. Yet ?
Thank you for tutorial on taping. I skateboard on ramps recreationally, and about a month ago I slammed my left heel down hard. The pain point is where you showed, but half an inch further back and toward groin. I've skated twice since, and re inflamed twice.
I'm trying your method now to see if it helps. Will reply with results
Results - This worked WONDERS!! I have taped for last 3 days because it provided such immense relief. Thanks!
+Ant Glen Absolutely! Glad to hear it is helping. Thanks for commenting. Dr. Wil

Do you have a lot of marathon runners that have this in only 33 but I believe this is my problem
I hope this works!
Dr. Wil
Very helpful!
Thank you

Can you give directions using coban instead of tape which rips my skin. I have fat pad atrophy.
No one diagnosed it for me I aware of it myself but didn’t know there was a medical syndrome name for it .
Thank You😇
Thanks! And BTW, adorable kids.
Hi Dr Wil,
I am having this heel pain issue for almost 18 months and has yet to resolve it.
I have forefoot pain in the ball of my foot due to fat pad atrophy. Does taping work for that?
hello i heard that fat pad athropy or necrosis cannot regenerate and heal itselg. I read that it is permanent pain. i have also fat pad athropy . I will try that. Can you tell me is it possible to be pain free after a while? If it is usually how long the patients suffer from this? I am 26 years old and i feel hopeless please help

Yeah how long does it take for the fat pad to heal I have had it for two weeks almost 3 weeks and I am over the pain. Stops me from sleeping
thank you for this video. I possibly could be sensitive to the adhesive since this sometimes occurs with other bandages as well. thank you.
