- There's so much going on in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas y'all!
We spent three days in one of the biggest metro areas in the state. Dallas is very rich and fancy. Fort Worth is very traditional and conservative. Wonderful people!

"We spent 3 days..." *Who is "we"?
Is your manager your wife?
didn't you do a Pennsylvania video some years back that listed Johnstown as one of the worst places to live? I tried to look it up in your PA video list, but 2 of those videos are marked "hidden".
East Fort Worth in all fairness is about as dangerous as Afghanistan
I liked that Officer Calzada. He had a great, positive attitude!
He sure does!
Officer Calzada sets the example for every Officer in America! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲
Yes I like him and all police officers
That accent tho
I live in DFW, and he is always like that. He even shows up on the evening news every now and then.
Police officer smooth as silk. Great booster. God bless him.
💯 a great representative.
I agree
Wow he was Great! We need more of him! Thank you sir! Come to Canada 🇨🇦!
I would love one of those Patches!
😂😂😂😂😂😂no
That Cop’s friendly personality says A LOT about that city!
I moved to Fort Worth Texas in 2007. My neighbors greeted us with a plate of home baked cookies. At the DMV, they said with a smile, "Congratulations, you are now a Texan." Truly one of the best places.
+thats awesome reminds me of here in New Zealand as a kid our new neighbor brought us home baked muffins and biscuits (cookies) makes you feel truly welcome..
You better vote red if you wish to keep it that way.
Girl nobody told you that lmfao
@@WakandaleezaRazz the DMV is a part of the DPS dude lmao 🤓
I’ve got a job offer there now. Really considering it. You mind sharing some of your main pros and cons.
Fort Worth, TX, in my opinion is the MOST American City!🇺🇸 Great place!
Wait till they get a refugee camp
@@Puretea4711 Soon we'll be the ones in the refugee camps !
I want to move out of Frisco and to Fort Worth. Didn’t realize Frisco was little India now…
@@MrNiceGuy500 Coppell, Las Colinas, Valley Ranch… and on & on it goes. There’s a lot more cultural & int’l diversity in TX than people think
I lived in Fort Worth for a year, about 13 years ago. it was fun back then too.
A lot of Republicans from Orange County, California have moved to DFW to help Keep Texas Red.
🔴🇨🇱🇺🇸
Mostly to the burbs and to Fortworth. whereas democrats flock to Dallas county
Yeah but at least their nice to us mexicans, even cops r nice to us, as long as ur not a trouble maker n u follow the laws.
I’m from Los Angeles ! Moved to Houston. My neighbors call me the “back up” 🙌🏽 here to help keep Texas red !
A "republican " from any Democrat state is really just a moderate democrat.
Go back to Mexico.@@dropcash1518
Fort Worth is 🔴
Dallas is 🔵
I remember back 2018 the mayor of Dallas approved theft of 750.00 he recently changed from dem to rep. 😅
@@sumofme1the mayor never approved that. He doesn’t have power to do so. He’s simply a “spokesperson” for the City of Dallas and his power is equivalent to a city council member. The chief executive is the city manager. The city council and the mayor, together as a whole makes the policies that run the city, not the mayor alone.
What you’re talking about is the Dallas County DA. Which is a completely different governmental entity, separate from the City of Dallas.
Watch them moving over to Fort Worth and flipping it blue
@@214dude2that's exactly how it work
I'm a 35 year old Fort Worth resident who's lived here since I was still in diapers...
Fort Worth isn't this right-wing paradise that people made it out to be during the 2020 election. In reality, it's mainly the northern and western suburbs of Tarrant County. The city itself is more a dark purple, if anything.
As you mentioned. Dallas-Fort Worth is HUGE. Home to about 8 million people and growing rapidly. You’ve highlighted many reasons why we love living here. You definitely need to come back and visit some more.
A report a few weeks ago predicted the North Texas population will peak at 33 million and extend into Oklahoma
@@timothykeith1367 I’ve read those predictions as well. It’s astonishing how fast the empty land has filled in for miles and miles in every direction. Dallas 1.3 million, Fort Worth to top 1 million in the next 2 years, Arlington just topped 400,000. McKinney is expected to build out to 400,000 residents, Celina to 350,000, Frisco to 330,000, Plano to 300,000. I can see the 33 million when it pours into Oklahoma.
@@timothykeith1367Wow.!!! For real?
Buddy represents the best in LE.
Amazing job Nick.
One thing I like about Nick Johnson is, in every video he tries to put a positive spin on things.
I live on a coast city, and they have a negative "fly over state" view of most of the USA, and would call a state like Texas boring and "nothing there"
Me personally, I will take clean and boring, over exciting and a lot of crime any day.
Texas has coastal cities...
+ 100 percent 🎉🎉🎉 have a blessed weekend and amazing week ahead.
@@rayb.6537The El Paso crime is moderate, especially compared to across the Rio Grande.
Hate to disagree, but the positive spin is almost always on the conservative cities/regions. For example, Nick's video on Portland he sought out almost exclusively the homeless areas and a crime house. Portland is a beautiful city, with some problem areas, just like Fort Worth I'm sure.
@@johnturner8144Very true!
THAT THUMBNAIL IS GOLD!!! BEST ROOTIN TOOTIN CHANNEL ON THIS SIDE OF THE MISSISSIPPI
That officer wouldn't have been so friendly & accommodating if he knew the amount of RED LIGHTS you've ran 😂
Just a very looooong running joke. No need to jump to any defense. Nick will get it:...cheers:)
Right! I was like, “running red lights, how Texan of him”. 😂
I'm not the driver!!
lol you noticed that too
Moved to the FW area about 10 years ago. One of the best decisions I've ever made.
I was waiting for Nick to cover my metro, especially the Fort Worth area. Anytime a friend from out of state comes to visit, they’re so surprised at how nice it really is. Thanks for visiting Nick!
Yeah most out of towners don't know enough about Ft Worth they just know Dallas
@@shakarussanders9911 Yeah, most of them think the whole metro is just Dallas lol I have to break it down for them. Fort Worth has definitely been gaining more attention lately, even the tourism has picked up.
@@gr8myndmuzic Yeah I'm happy Ft Worth is getting more shine! Born and raised there
I think Nick's from Dallas fort worth anyway.
I think Nick's from Dallas fort worth anyway.
I just moved to Fort Worth back in January and I love it. I feel like I’m finally where I’m supposed to be
Thanks for showing us DFW. That officer sounds like he's a mayoral candidate, or will be. Awesome score. I haven't been to the Stockyards since the mid 90's and boy has it grown!
I moved to Fort Worth for grad school and ended up marrying a native so we’ll be staying here. I really do love it aside from the driving.
It astounds me that the same person driving a massive SUV they don’t need will run four red lights, pass you on the shoulder, pancake a pedestrian or two, tailgate you in the right lane, flip you the bird for daring to only go 10 over the speed limit and then then pull into the church car park and wave good morning to you with a smile.
Lol 😂 this made me laugh. The drivers are horrible here. But probably a friendly person off the roads.
Your description of Fort Worth vs. Dallas definitely makes me want to visit Fort Worth. Sounds right up my alley!
Work it Fort Worth! Beautiful Austin can take some lessons from you.
All big cities could learn.
The cops were really friendly and kind!
Officer Calzada's Hank Schrader impersonation was sooooo impressive!! 😂
I am a long time subscriber of your channel and this video is my all time favorite! Years ago, I was fortunate to attend and graduate from TCU. I have been telling friends ever since what a friendly and wonderful city Fort Worth is to live in. Thank you so much for this positive program about Fort Worth(Cowtown😊). I am so glad that the city still seems to be as awesome as I remember it.
Cool John!
There really is no substitute for the work you're doing Nick. I share it all the time. Nice to see a city thriving in America.
Yay!! ❤️❤️❤️
Ya! Fort Worth seems pretty good. 🐾😎
I grew up Ft. Worth all my life. It's always had its charm. I went away for three years and I haven't been more grateful for being back.
Fort Worth is one of the cleanest downtowns I have seen.
We lived east of DFW airport and always loved going to Fort Worth. It is a great city.
i went threw F.W. about 10 yrs ago and could not believe how clean the city.
Kudos to Police Officer Calzada, so hospitable and kind, and vibrant as well. Great job, officer! Calzada for Mayor! Wohoo! 🎉
Nick and Mappy ❤❤❤😮😮😮😊😊😊
Hope you had a good weekend Wanda!
DFW!!! Nick Johnson back at it with another Texas banger! Best metro area in the US!
💯💯💯
Glad you finally found the Texas you were looking for ,Nick!
For reals Chris!
Love your videos ! Your very entertaining and informative ! Safe travels to you !
Finally!I live in north Dallas, and work closer to Ft Worth. I've been waiting for this video ever since I knew you were here..! I moved to Texas from Ohio. It is so funny to me hearing you call Dallas "fancy, flashy, wealthy and Shiny"😂😂 Ft Worth areas are no longer much cheaper.. people priced out of the Dallas areas headed to ft worth. Its getting expensive there too. Still less than Dallas but its catching up in cost fast, because everyone is headed there but still working in the Dallas area.
I was born in Bedford Texas and my family lived in North Richland Hills. Some things have changed in Fort Worth since the late 80’s, but a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Great job Nick I really enjoyed this episode.
I lived in Bedford for a year.
Born and raised. Terrible weather is all I can say, leaving asap.
Thanks Nick for showing off my town of FTW….I’m a transplant from Australia now 24yrs….didn’t plan on coming here but I got hooked for the same reasons you’ve shown and much much more & I made it my home.
God bless you Nick and safe travels 👍🏽
Texas is truly a gem. I am trying desperately to get my affairs in order so I can eventually move to my dream state. DFW is an amazing area, but central Texas is calling my name.
Central Texas has more people than their water resources can provide for during their typical droughts. East Texas has all the water but is boring as heck until high school football season comes along.
@@billwilson-es5yn Yeah. I was there last summer when the water levels were insanely low.
Right it’s lot quieter down there but I wouldn’t recommend Waco unless you are thinking a more rural area down there
@@davidschumann9182 Thinking about 45 minutes to a hour outside of either Austin or San Antonio. I can't handle their insane politics, but I do still like visiting. The landscape is what draws me in that direction.
@@OhPhuckYou checkout Spring Branch..
We moved from New Jersey to the Dallas suburbs at the end of 2022. People back home sometimes ask us if we have any regrets about moving. We always reply with “we regret not moving here sooner.”
Great video, as always Nick!
So true they are different cities! I've worked in both.
Difficult getting around in Ft Worth, as the streets are built kind of in a wagon wheel design, & most of the original street signs are missing. Speaking of the hood in Dallas, my work took me there. One day, I had to go see an elderly, bedbound man. The front door was broken & had no way of being secured anymore. I kept knocking loudly & yelling as loud as I could. I finally, & cautiously, opened it & finally stepped inside. I startled the man awake, as he roused himself to a half sitting position in bed, & his 357 dropped from beneath his pillow onto the floor. He apologized, immediately retrieved it back under his pillow & invited me in. I assured him I'd always knock & yell loudly before entering each time.
I have other stories from the hood for the grandkids, but I finally made my own escape to the country.
(Great git-up you had on for Ft Worth, but I'm not sure it would go over in Big D!)
I like cities that built their roads when horse and carriage were the big thing. I remember living in Colorado Springs the roads and intersections were so wide. They designed it that way so you could maneuver a horse and carriage changing directions in one swoop.
@@jrs4ex That makes sense! Often the streets stop at a cross street, & begin again a half block over. It drove me crazy.
However, I must say I would prefer living in Ft Worth than Dallas (but I was country girl before moving to Dallas).
I’m moving to Fort Worth!
I’ve been waiting for a DFW video! I’ve heard Frisco, Plano, and Mckinney are thriving burbs. I love the pride and appreciation people from Fort Worth have for their city! You won’t see any of that in most American cities, especially in California!
Fort Worth has 3 world class art museums: Amon Carter, Kimbell and The Modern.
I live 1- 1/2 hours southeast of Ft Worth. I love the DFW metroplex for shopping, The State Fair, museums, Six Flags, and eating, plus they both have some of the best hospitals in the world. I must say, although I love Dallas and Arlington, Fort Worth does have a certain special something about it. ❤
I absolutely love the interview with the officers! LOVE the positivity!!!
They did a super job didn't they Melissa
This was a great video to watch. I really like to see places that are sticking to what made them great places to begin with. That's what seems to be happening in Fort Worth. It's good to see that being embraced there. And it sure is good to see Nick Johnson finding a place more his speed. We all need that sometimes.
Eric 👍👍
I like Fort Worth. I like this video!😊❤
I like this comment!
Great video! My high school marching g band and our rival high school's marching band were in the 1973 Cotton Bowl Parade and the buildings were tall but not like it is today. We landed at Love airport from Denver as DFW was just being built. Thanks for the memories.
Every city deserves police officers like that! Excellent video as usual Nick, thank you!
Nick, you gone to Luby's restaurant yet? That's a big thing down there, not many cafeterias left in the US anymore.
Or Mama's pizza in FW. It is just a good solid pizza.
This looks like a nice little slice of America.
It is refreshing to see how nice those cities are!! I would even consider Texas as a vacation destination!! I love the “Cowboy Rodeo” theme!! And the two police officers were fantastic!! Fort Worth looks like a great place!!Thanks for the video Nick!! 🤗
The old song “I’m a little bit country, I’m a little bit rock n roll” reminds me of the dynamic of Fort Worth and Dallas. Dallas def has more hoods but we also have that grungy 1990s rock vibe,.. at least we used to!
Dallas is a corporate center. It's all about money and power. But, that's not a bad thing, necessarily. Over, DFW is a great place to live. Lots of entertainment, golf courses and shopping.
You should visit Texas in the summer! It's hot as hell!
oh man, it gets really hot and the further south you go, the hotter it gets.
People used to live in Texas without air conditioning. They worked outside, too! Does it get cold in Buffalo?
Thank You Nick Johnson For This Interesting Video❤❤.
I've been to Texas many times and I love the place! Great people, great food, lots of space unlike here in Chicago, and the folks are amicable and down to earth. One of my sons recently relocated to Houston. 🤠
Thank you for this video of Fort Worth ! It is wonderful . I am now planning to go there for a visit. Officer Calzada is such a nice person.I need to go to a positive motivating city like Fort Worth .
My Dad was a truck driver for over 35 years. Texas was his all time favorite state. He talked very favorably of Fort Worth.
Thanks for your videos, Nick!
Also Dallas ft worth is the largest metro area in the “south” you could never experience the whole are in one trip . We have so many suburbs and cities
Thank you so much for this video on Fort Worth, my hometown. I am living out of state but hope to move back home this year. Can't believe the changes and so glad to see how clean it all is. You did a great job.
This was so enjoyable. Gotta love the Texans. Well done, Fort Worth!
Very nice~I think I'll move to Fort Worth,Texas😊 Yaya! enjoyed watching the video.
I loved the Dallas/plano area of texas. that cop is exaclty what i came across.
Same for Coppell 💙
@@Cycology_Major Ive not been there :( maybe someday ill head back and visit
@@Jigsjigz Oh, it’s a great highly-rated (schools, crime, parks, etc.) little bedroom community but tbh, nothing really for visitors to see ✌️
Next time you're in Ft. Worth go to the Ole South Pancake House, it's killer. Down by TCU. I do like Ft.Worth better than Dallas. Lived in Arlington as a kid.
I hate the way people drive in Dallas I'm originally from California and I thought people drove fast in California but the drivers and Dallas are like NASCAR drivers 😂
@texasgina I don't mind driving there being as I lived in Houston for a few years and that us some rough driving. We'd go to DFW and it was like a nice smooth vacation drive. Hahaha
Funny stuff buddy love your content keep up the amazing work JR from west Texas 👍
We all get to find out in every episode that you truly do love America.. thank you for another great episode..
Nice Citys. Looks good! And the Officers are sympathetic. I like it.
Hey Nick. Native Dallas here. You're pretty spot on for the most part, as usual. The rivalry has pretty much faded away since Dallas and Ft. Worth have slowly expanded toward each other into the 3rd largest metro area in the country. I love Ft. Worth and I'm so glad they are hanging on to the Cowboy frame of mind for so long. Gorgeous cowgirls every where you look. Dallas is about to chase me out due to all the construction, gridlock, and I miss the old days of the Cowboys in the Super Bowl every other year.
Loved the comparison of Ft. Worth to Dallas. Ft. Worth, its people & attitude make it a much better place to live.
Thank you Nick!
Amazing example to set for how law enforcement should be. Part of the community, while still caring enough about the community to keep the streets clean and safe. I visited once and loved it.
@Nick Johnson, I’m a Fort Worth native. Hopefully the next time you come to Fort Worth I can get a chance to see you in person. Appreciate your complements about our city. I follow your channel and love your work. Keep up the good work my brother!✌🏽

Love to see this. All your Texas videos are great.
Go Fort Worth!.❤ My best times were always in Fort Worth when I used to travel to the DFW area for work.
And I always felt safer there than in Vancouver BC, anyday of the week!
We lived near the DFW metro for several years and loved it, especially Fort Worth. I'd gladly live there again.
I was in Fort Worth and Dallas last year. That city was MUCH better than I thought it was gonna be. Its high on a list of places I would move but damn if the taxes. tolls and fees are a killer once you do the numbers
Driving during the evening rush hour from DFW airport area on my way to Austin, it’d take hours. So, the Toll & over $20 just to get outta that congested area - driving thru the southern side of Ft.W. is a heartbreaking mess. But the city proper, yeeesss indeed!
Simply loved this episode, thanks. 😊
DFW comparison cities are as follows:
FT Worth =/= OKC, Tulsa, Kansas City
Dallas =/= Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles.
Collin County =/= Orange County without the palm trees, hills or beaches
The metroplex is great because you can get your fix of everything.
If you want cowboys and western. Country music and family friendly then Ft With might be up your alley.
If you are into fashion, nightlife, high end shopping and fine dining……then Dallas has all you need.
Great video! Thanks Nick!
Been waiting a long time for this one. Been a watcher of you since Covid. Welcome to the Metroplex Nick. Hope you enjoy Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington.
This is one of the first cities you've explored that I actually felt drawn to, thanks for that!
Go my Aussie brothers, go!!! I know for a fact that they won’t let the team down. Fricken awesome!! Glad you had the pleasure Nick! ♥️♥️⭐️🇦🇺
6:07 Officer Buddy is awesome and funny! 😂 A very likable person. Officer Chelsea is wonderful.
Thank you for going to and exposing these deplorable states and the awful conditions so that we don't have to! stay safe!
Nice videos Nick glad you still exploring most of Texas thanks for sharing Nick. Jaja Nick trying to drink two beers at the time haha

Cool segment ❤🎉
Almost twice as many people live in the Dallas Fort Worth area as in the entire state of Oklahoma.
😮😮
Yes absolutely do a video of the stockyard.
You got my attention regarding FW.
We are preparing to sell our house and land in Florida ( cow country ) and travel full time in our RV.
I NEVER planned on Texas urban areas since I cannot stand urban areas.
But more and more I’m seeing places to visit in Texas.
Loved it!
I liked Fort Worth downtown living but as you pointed out most of the tech was in Dallas. Two things you did not mention that I did not like. 1. Commuting is a nightmare. 2. The bums were on Lancaster Ave, east of I35. The property taxes are too much as well
We live in DFW welcome Nick, you nailed it this time for sure 👍
Great show Nick…..really loved it this week…
