Hello, Jennifer. Excellent video. Very helpful. Thanks for sharing. We are coming over from Rio de Janeiro in january. We are booking a standard room e we would like to stay as closest as possible to the Classic Hall. Would that be building 5?
Thank you so much! We really appreciate you watching our channel. Honestly, I haven't had any issues with mosquitoes at this property or in the parks. Disney has an extensive mosquito prevention program for the area. I personally haven't been bit at all over the last 10 years when we have been going frequently. Doesn't mean it can't happen but it's not something I have experienced! If you would like to be extra cautious though, I would suggest the 1970s section or the 1950s section. Both are not close to the lake and away from standing water (with the exception of the Bowling Pool but it's maintained daily). Especially in January, you really shouldn't have any issues with mosquitos. I hope this helps! 💜
@@MagicalResortsGuide Many thanks for your advice. In three previous visits I haven't experienced any issues with mosquitoes either and know about the Disney prevention programme. However after reading several reviews on Tripadvisor about Pop Century even in January I was slightly worried.
@@orlandobuff7421 Hmm, that's interesting! I guess everyone can have a different experience, but I am like you. I have never been bitten by mosquitoes in Disney. I have also been to Pop several times in January and never had a problem, so hopefully, your experience will be the same!! ✨💜 I did think, too, that you could call and request a room away from all water sources just to be safe. I'm sure they would be able to help with that! It just might make you have a long walk since those rooms tend to be on the edges closest to the parking lots. But IMO, I don't think you will have an issue. I hope you have an awesome time when you go! 😄
@@MagicalResortsGuide Many thanks. We hope so too. I think your suggestion of 1950s or 1970s section would suffice rather than requesting a room away from all water sources. Any particular building? (number 1 looks furthest from the lake and numbers 3 and 6 the closest on the map). We have standard rooms booked. Depending on where you are directly facing the pool may be noisy (however only planning to sleep at hotel).
No, you definitely can!! But the preferred rooms typically have the best and most convenient locations so it’s not normally necessary unless you have specific situation. If you need a preferred room request suggestion, let me know. 🥰
If I am staying in a standard room, then I prefer the 50s section. My all time favorite though is the preferred room in the 60s section that *isn't* a water view. Typically you will be on the back side of the 60s building away from the pool but still close to the Skyliner and the food!
That sounds like an amazing trip! I would say it depends on which theme parks you plan to visit. If you will mainly be using the Skyliner, I would request buildings 4 or 5 (I prefer 5) since that will put you closest to the Skyliner and *may* give you a nice view of the lake. If you are going to be splitting your time between all four parks then I would go with building 3 or 6 (I prefer 3) since that puts you more in the middle between Classic Hall (for food and buses) and the Skyliner. I hope this helps and that you have a magical resort stay! 💜
@@MagicalResortsGuide thank your for the advice, silly question but do you know how I would request it from the uk is it just send an email or can it be done by the Disney app?
@@richardnewman6271 Not a silly question at all! You can make some requests in the app when completing your online check-in. But it's not normally very specific (they are stock options to pick). If you want to make a building, floor, or location request, I normally call 10ish days before my trip and ask them to add the note to my reservation. I personally call the Disney reservation line (do you have a UK-based number for Disney?), give them my reservation number, and they can do that for me. I'm not sure if that's an option for you. I have heard there is an email address for this too. I've just never personally done it this way. I'll do some research, and if I can find the answer. If so, I'll come back and comment here for you. When is your trip? I hope this helps!!

Very useful advice! I would appreciate your advice as to which building area to book in January for avoiding mosquitoes.
