My best Disney memory happened at Pop Century. Back in 2013 my best friend finally talked me into applying for my dream job with Disney. After filling out both of the applications I was invited to come to an in person interview on a day of my choice.. I never stayed at Pop at that time and my friend (the same one that got me to fill out the application) talked it up so I figured t's a quick 2 night trip. I'll give it a try. The plan was to fly in the day before the interview and fly home the day after. I decided to take it easy that night so I just chilled at Pop. Out of character for me since I usually hit the ground running. I was wearing my blue Tinker Bell shirt with my name (Tony) on it that was given to me my my friend (yes the same friend) which again was out of character for me. I usually start a trip wearing my Ariel shirt. They were showing Ratatouille at poolside which at point I had never seen before so I went to watch it. Halfway through the movie the project quit and they couldn't fix it so the rest of the movie was cancelled. Slightly bummed I went to the food court to top off my drink and along the way I pass by a boy and his Grandma. I overheard the boy ask why the movie stopped. Always wanting to help I told him what the CMs told me about the projector. Suddenly the Grandma's eyes fill with tears and she locks in a bear hug so tight I almost couldn't breathe. She then explained her son named Tony who loved Tinker Bell recently passed and she prayed for a sign he made it to Heaven ok. My eyes filled with tears too. I didn't end up getting the job, but I don't think I was supposed to. I was however meant to be at that place at that time in that shirt.
You mentioned doing a video where you got groceries delivered. I think that would be super helpful to watch an operational video on y’all getting groceries, getting to the park early for rope drop, etc. y’all have so many good tips and tricks
“what’s your handle” probably refers to CB radios. Long haul truckers had nicknames or “ handles “ which they would use to identify themselves to other truckers on the road. After the movie “Smokey and the Bandit” came out in 1977, people in regular cars jumped on the bandwagon and there was a huge surge in popularity in CB radios. This was before carphones and WAY before cellphones
I was just going to say this! My parents had one, and I remember being a child sitting in the backseat (without seatbelts, of course) and listening to them talk to the big trucks while on car trips to visit my grandparents.
Molly is the best. I started watching Molly for her resort review videos. I love them, and when she gives us information to help us make our next visit to WDW the best.
This video makes me so happy. I stayed at Pop for the first time in January and i'll be staying there again in a few weeks. The resort is so much fun and for being a value resort, its got a lot to offer. This just makes me all the more psyched for my trip
I Love POP CENTURY!!!! We have stayed in the 50s area in the Jukebox building. The Trip we stayed at POP is when my Hubby PROPOSED!!!! ❤❤❤ So Pop has a Special place in my heart
Pop Century is our favorite value resort but the Skyliner closing before the end of Jollywood Nights is another example of how that party doesn’t stack up to Very Merry Christmas Party. Can you imagine the boats and monorail not running thru the end of MVMCP?
We loved having groceries delivered here. It was so easy. We would pick them up at the end of the day. My hubby took our stroller to load it up and push the stuff back to the room. But you can have bell services bring it to you room and tip them.
We love POP!! My girls and I would stay there (even before the Skyliner) prior to joining DVC. Price was usually $99/ night and quick bus routes to the park without inner loops like the All Stars. Reliving the memories…so “groovy” & “swell”!🥰
This hotel holds a special place in my heart because I stayed there the week that the world shut down in 2020. The parks closed but the resorts remained open until the end of the week. I will never forget swimming in the 90s pool that ghost town week, and there were kids in the pool that thought the Animal Kingdom Opens Today headline was real and got excited for a second that the park was open again. I was the one who broke it to them, that headline is from before they were born.
We love Pop as well!! We've also done the grocery delivery from Walmart the last couple of trips. We fly in from NC & have children so it's nice to have snacks & breakfast (on the go) items in our room. They will hold your order at the front until your room is ready & cast members will deliver it to your room. We request a microwave as soon as we arrive & can keep our littles satisfied with most things we purchase. 😊
We had grocery delivery last year from Walmart to French Quarter. I had seen on either a RUclips video or a blog about signing up for the free trial for Walmart+ to get free grocery delivery to the resort hotel. It worked great! Our groceries were delivered shortly after our arrival and kept with guest services until our room was ready. They refrigerated any of the necessary items. Walmart doesn’t charge for delivered groceries, so you only pay a tip to the delivery driver.
My friends and I stayed at Pop Century for our very first trip, and while we stayed there for budget reasons, we fell in love with the resort and its charm. I’d stay there over basically any of the moderates. It just has so much character!!
It isn't just going back to standard time that makes the sun go down earlier, it's the fact that a winter day has half as much daylight/sunshine that a summer day has. And the further north you go the shorter winter days are. People don't realize that if we stayed on DST all year sunrise would be like 9 am in much of the country in the winter. That may not matter to people who sleep until noon but for kids getting up for school that would be terrible.
I had that Sony Walkman as a kid and I was astounded that the cassette tape would “auto reverse” which meant you didn’t have to open it, flip the tape and close it again. Can you imagine handing that to a kid today and saying “have fun”?😂😅😂
Yes! Also the "seek" button that would automatically fast forward to the next song so you didn't have to guess how long to hold the button down. Game changer :)
This resort carries deep nostalgia as it was the first one I stayed at as a kid with my family! It’s so bright and magical. Also I was and always will be Posh Spice
My wife and I stayed at Pop Century on one of our trip and we loved it! Super convenient for the skyliner. But I will say, if you want to rope drop epcot or hollywood studios, you need to get to the skyliner station like 45 minutes to an hour before the station opens. The line moves fast, but it gets EXTREMELY long in the mornings since there are 2 resorts (Pop and Art of Animation) trying to use that one station
We did grocery deliver from Walmart and they didn't label the cold items. No one bothered to check if there were cold things so it got left out for hours until we picked it up. I never got Walmart to refund me either. Just kept getting the runaround until I gave up. So I recommend picking your groceries up when they're delivered instead of relying on the system. They're supposed to label cold items so staff knows to refrigerate them. But don't rely on them to double check.
Great timing! My husband and I are new retirees one hour north of WDW, and we were life long Disneyland fans and Magic Key holders before we moved here a year ago, and now have DW APs. We are trying out different DW resorts for staycations, and this one is next on our list. We grew up in the 50s and 60s, but our three adult kids were born in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, so it’ll be so fun to see all of the decades. Also, I have that Mickey phone. Not the giant one, haha, but a working normal sized one. Our oldest son won it at a school raffle back in the 90s, but he is letting me keep it with my Disney memorabilia collection for now. Thanks for the great videos! Long time fan, Molly, even before Mammoth Club. You two are such a cute couple, and LOTS of fun! 🤗
This is my home resort when going to Disney on a budget. I love staying on the Skyliner line. It’s also very centrally located, not too long of a transport to any location (except MK). Rooms are nice, not huge, but comfortable for 2 people; 4 may be tight. Beds are very comfortable IMO. Quiet pools are great, 60s pool are is fun if that’s what you want. Food court is nice, but basic, however, you are very close to Riviera and it’s wonderful food options.
In the 1970s, CB radios were popular accessories for cars, trucks and especially vans. "What's your handle?" is asked on CB radios to get someone to identify themselves, usually a silly name like "Rubber Duck" or "The Bandit". When young people went cruisin' the boulevard, they would talk to each other via CB radios.
Me and my wife stayed here on our honeymoon we enjoyed it all the items in the lobby for each decade theme of the buildings. Would definitely stay there again.
I just stayed at Pop. It's my favorite value resort. I seem to always get a room in the 80s section which hurts my 1990's heart but either way, the rooms are great, the skyliner, and the fun theme make it a fantastic affordable resort.
When my bff at the time and I used to play Spice Girls , I would dress up as Posh and she would dress up as Ginger. We looked like them so we dressed like them even though they were not our bias Spice Girls per se- She was a Baby fan and I was a Sporty fan. I think we saw that movie in the theater easily half a dozen times. My mom's best friend's daughter was older than us and used to work in the movie theater a the time and she would tease me (lovingly, not cruel) about the movie (she thought it was lame). She and I now work in the same professional office, and my love of the Spice Girl movie still comes up 20+ years later. I won't deny it either. I still own it and still watch it 🤣
My grandfather had the Mickey Mouse phone when I was growing up, so when I stayed at Pop on my first Disney trip at 29 years old, it made me think of him ❤ It's my favorite resort..love walking around the water as I make my way to the skyliner hehe
I grew up staying at Pop and my husband and I have always opted for it because we’re big parks people. We stayed in a Little Mermaid room at Art last trip and we missed Pop the entire time. Landscape of Colors isn’t very unique anymore and we felt like our room in Art was a lot further from the Skyliner than any room we have gotten at Pop. Plus, the line forms on the Pop side so you’re at a disadvantage. We’ll always stay at Pop from now on!
I really love this series! it is so much fun to see all of the choices you have to stay at on your vacation. The two of you are so fun to watch and oh so amusing! I get so much joy when I watch your videos. Excited for your next resort staycation!
I used to always say I would never stay at a value but now I’ve stayed at Pop last three trips and live it! The skyliner is such a perk and I love the vibes!
I would love you to show how you can do Grocery delivery service... I always want to do it but I don't quite know how to do it. I don't use that service at home so I'm not familiar with doing that. :) Also, Love pop century! my go to hotel!
If my husband and I had “home” resorts. It’s Pop & Arts. Even though we can afford much more expensive ones, HS is our favorite park and the skyliner gives us access to so much!
I also stayed at POP a lot when I first started going to Disney, so many memories! I was usually Posh Spice, but only because I have long brown hair. Otherwise there is nothing posh whatsoever about me, lol!
I love the resort videos they are on of my favs that molloy and Alan do! I also absolutely love this resort and the nostalgia of it. I also was cracking up about the discussion of Goofy’s outfit 😂😂
Been to Disney dozens of time with a 2 week big family trip next up, but not until fall 2025. Never been to Pop Century. So thank you for this video that is starting off my research on what to look for. Excited to go with my whole adult family, which will included 2 beautiful princesses age 3 and 4. Can't wait.
1) When my daughter and I stay at the value hotels, we go the kid's route, it's the right amount of food, and saves money and 2) I'm surprised you don't carry a silverware set in you luggage, to have a set that has a metal straw, dining ware, and a straw brush. with the new rules for straws it comes in handy. With our traveling this last year we have developed a travel bag. Take one of the bought grocery bags and set it up with items you want/use. Small plates and cups, toilet paper, for if you do stay where it's stiff, you have back up, Tissues, for we have allergies, paper towels, for use or the car, dish soap in a little container, bleach wipes (to disinfect items you touch .. we are in post - co-vid life and we know not all things are cleaned well), plastic utensils. IT comes in handy. Traveling for short distant stays or long distance.
My personal preference is to eat in the dining halls. It's just my son & I (spouse dead)) and we meet THE MOST INTERESTING PEOPLE. Especially the solo Disneyers, who seem more than happy to talk about their stay. And Pop Century was the most surprising on all the resort hotels; we always stayed at the more expensive hotels (BWI was the best), and still I loved PC because it was so kicked back. And it's fun because they never seem to believe that a pale redhead can speak & understand Spanish. Great video.
Pop is home for us!❤ we found that the make your own dinners and the speciality foods, like seasonal, are the way to go! Love the pools, the staff, the bar, the whole vibe!
Great vlog, ty! Just adding, everywhere I’ve stayed recently that was renovated (not Disney, random places) has disposed of carpets and I LOVE IT. Carpets get so ick, the vinyl tile floors are amazing.
I adore POP! RIP Mom's Night Out dinner specials. My daughter always chose something else, but she always ate as much of that yummy Night Out meal as I could bear to part with! I am relieved to see made to order omelets are still a thing. I will miss the crunchy breakfast potatoes, but I will be okay with the tots. Pop Century FOREVAH!
I believe Art of Animation was to be the "Classic Years" thus completing the rest of the century of pop century with the bridge over the lake being the "Generation Bridge." I think I have a resort map from when I stayed at pop century. I used to go around Christmas time in college. I am unfortunately older than Alan and Molly by a few years 😂
Pop Century is a favorite for mybfamily due to cost! But we love how it attaches to Art of Animation. We can enjoy both for price of one! Love your videos Molly
Omg!!! Yeah another staycation video my favorite😊 You guys looked amazing for Jollywood and I could picture you both in that incredible corvette (don't forget Alan there is no back seat!! Just you and our amazing Molly❤) Great video as usual 🥰🇨🇦❤️
In the 70's it was popular to have a CB radio in your vehicle to communicate with other drivers including semi trucks. Your handle was your call name. Demonstrated on the movie, Smokey and the Bandit.
Handles are still used 2 this day. They continued through 2 online BBS systems & things like Compuserve throughout the 80s, on through the Internet in the '90s, & are still used by people like myself who are long-established online creative types so we can be active online without drawing a huge cyberspace onslaught equivalent of The Beatles getting chased down the street.😂
I stayed at Pop Century the first week in November and overall consider it a great option for all the benefits of staying on property provides especially easy access to the Skyliner. I was bummed I missed the timeline in the lobby. One important thing to note if you order groceries or bring leftovers back to your room is there are no microwaves in the rooms or anywhere on property, except one in the back of the food cafeteria that has a sign that said it was only intended to warm up pastries
Spiceworld the Movie fans RISE! I was11 when Wannabe came out and Spice Girls were life... especially here in the UK! Loving this video, I've never stayed at Pop but we like to visit the food court when we're staying elsewhere - such a cool resort!
My best Disney memory happened at Pop Century. Back in 2013 my best friend finally talked me into applying for my dream job with Disney. Awesome!!!
to God be the Glory😊 Ephesians 3:21
i will rem this testimony forever
Great story ❤️
Heavy on the “not a sweet drink girlie” because SAME
No one can change my mind as a 90’s kid Pop century is my favorite resort the sky liner and different decades are amazing!!
I just wish they were as much of a value resort is what they used to be, but they are not. The prices have skyrocketed.
90s kid supremacy!
You mentioned doing a video where you got groceries delivered. I think that would be super helpful to watch an operational video on y’all getting groceries, getting to the park early for rope drop, etc. y’all have so many good tips and tricks
Yes! For each of the parks!
Instacart is what we use. They will drop it off at the concierge super easy
“what’s your handle” probably refers to CB radios. Long haul truckers had nicknames or “ handles “ which they would use to identify themselves to other truckers on the road. Well let us know how your trip goes!!
I Love POP CENTURY!!!!
We have stayed in the 50s area in the Jukebox building.
The Trip we stayed at POP is when my Hubby PROPOSED!!!! ❤❤❤
So Pop has a Special place in my heart
I love the little kid energy of "let's go pose like them" and then running over there 😂❤
I love staying at Pop. The price and skyliner make it hard to beat.

The Mickey waffles are made with the golden malted waffle mix! That company is from my hometown. You can order the mix online as well!
Hi Molly, the "glitter tile" is Terrazzo, a ceramic product poured in place then polished to a tile-like shine.
We love Pop! And I'm about to show my age lol, buy "what's your handle" was in reference to CB radios which were super popular back in the 70's
Oh my gosh. When I heard about Disney Channel night at Disneyland you were the first people I thought of! Hoping you all can go and give us a video! 🤞
would love to see the instacart process when staying at the hotel that was a great idea Molly
This hotel holds a special place in my heart because I stayed there the week that the world shut down in 2020. The parks closed but the resorts remained open until the end of the week. I have so much fondness for pop! It was my “home resort” as a kid in the 2000s, and I’ll always love it 🌈

In regards to the waffles, I now ALWAYS keep the Malted waffle mix in stock at home. It makes the BEST pancakes and waffles!
Fun tour of Pop Century!!!! We stayed there for the first time in January & having the skyliner was definitely a big plus.
I love you guys! It warms my heart to know that Alan and I both made pot holders with the weaving loom as kids.
My friends and I stayed at Pop Century for our very first trip, and while we stayed there for budget reasons, we fell in love with the resort and its charm. I’d stay there over basically any of the moderates. It just has so much character!!
“Time is a weird soup” YES ALAN FOR THE FEARNE QUOTE!😂😂😂😂 I love Critical Role
Yessss glad someone else spotted this 😁❤️
@@lizitee It’s such an iconic Fearne line it’s hard to miss 😁😋
Several months later and I ran to the comments for that 🥰🥰

Pop is the best value by far. Can’t beat that skyliner access.

This is the hotel we're staying at this year! Really loved this video and made us even more excited for our trip! Thank you for this :D
60s or 70s for me. The resort is beautiful and I love the rooms. The rooms can be loud at times. ❤

Love Pop such a great place to stay. 👍
I watched Spice Girls movie at AMC at Downtown Disney when i worked in Guest Relations in the late 90’s
I was just there a week ago!! Pop is my new favorite of the value resorts ❤
I am a BOWLER and so were my Parents so the 50s is Perfect!!! My Parents were also born in 50 and 56.

It’s the gigantic Mickey for me too.
And, I want that Kentucky Mule! especially if it’s made with Uncle Nearest. Sooo smooth.
I love how Molly does turkey I do snail all the time lol
I also stayed at POP a lot when I first started going to Disney, so many memories! I was usually Posh Spice, but only because I have long brown hair. Otherwise there is nothing posh whatsoever about me, lol!
I love the time warp from pre-Jollywood - that was fantastic!
Can't wait.
Pop is my “home” at WDW and I’m so happy to see y’all review it! Love this series. 😊
We've just booked this hotel for our trip in September, purely because of this video (and how much we love you guys!! ❤)
Great video! This is the only Dianey Hotel I have stayed in and I loved it!
Pop century videos make my day. I'll be arriving there January 2nd
Love Pop Wish it wasn't so expensive to stay there. I will get there again someday
Landscape of flavors used to have more unique offerings, but its menu is nearly identical to Everything Pop now.
None of my friends loved or appreciated the Spice Girls like I did, but I was obsessed! They were my first concert!! I was a Baby all day, everyday! 🩷
Our favorite resort, we will be there is 48 days!!! Love the skyliner. We really only need a place to sleep. It is such a great resort.
Omg!!! Yeah another staycation video my favorite😊 You guys looked amazing for Jollywood and I could picture you both in that incredible corvette (don't forget Alan there is no back seat!! Just you and our amazing Molly❤) Great video as usual 🥰🇨🇦❤️
My favorite Disney RUclipsr at my favorite Disney resort!!! Woo hoo!! Love you Molly! 😃🥰
In the 70's it was popular to have a CB radio in your vehicle to communicate with other drivers including semi trucks. Your handle was your call name. Demonstrated on the movie, Smokey and the Bandit.
“What’s your handle!” Refers to the “name” you used on a CB radio. I’ll let everyone Google “CB radio” 😂
We had one in the van we had growing up in the 90's. 😊
PRO TIP: If you are headed to Epcot an elevated bagel breakfast sandwich can be acquired at the Boardwalk Cafe
Most years we have ordered groceries from garden grocer, but Publix was easy and we ordered the Publix subs- 👍
Pour one out for the wood fire pizzas that used to exist at the Pop Century food court for a short but beautiful moment in time.
I’m staying at Pop in January so this video is very helpful!
Staying here soon for a mommy daughter trip. Thanks for all the wonderful info💕
🎶 Har-mon-y 🎶 😂😂
Molly, You have a great singing voice. More singing.
Spiceworld the Movie fans RISE! I was11 when Wannabe came out and Spice Girls were life... especially here in the UK! Loving this video, I've never stayed at Pop but we like to visit the food court when we're staying elsewhere - such a cool resort!
Pop century is awesome I stayed there like 4 times
POP til ya drop (and don’t sleep on the tie dye cheesecake)! 🌈
Pro tip make sure if you do rundisney and want filtered water to get it the night before. I love this resort!
