Larrington Chaser Trailer Unloading Maize in to Commercial Lorry

  • This video show the Larrington Beet Chaser unloading its contents of maize directly in to a commercial lorry. This trailer was built for chasing sugar beet rather than maize, this is why you can see a little maize escape through the bigger holes in the headboard.
    This video shows our Beet Chaser trailer experimenting on Maize to see what alterations and adjustments we required when working with different crops. In this video we were testing it out on maize, and have since tweaked the design a little for the handling of maize, silage and simialr materials.

    @ Sean Kerr - Thank you for your comments. (although not sure what a 'waistline' has to do with it. :) I'm assuming it was an 'auto-correct' for 'Wasting'. I would like to mention on that note that the trailer featured in this video was our 'beet' chaser and was filmed 'trialing' on maize so that we could see what adjustments needed to be made for chasing maize, these improvements have now been made and we should hopefully have an updated video in the not too distant future.

    Quality trailer, haul'd harvest with 18t this year, only thing missing was a few LED strip lights inside top edge of the trailer to make it easier in the dark to fill when combine lights dusty, see the load and fill better

      +Wuzzie Lynch Thank you for the comments. It's good to hear from someone who has used the trailer and any feedback is always welcomed. Although an LED strip is not currently one of our optional extras, I would have thought this should be easily possible to have as an optional extra.

    It is a demonstration of the trailer. Maybe not clear to all. This was meant to be used in the field with harvester as a transfer to semi trailer on side of field. It would be like a grain cart for example.

    • @LarringtonTrailersChannel

      You might struggle to get a large hopper and elevator to follow a forager in the field.
      If you like the idea of a large hopper and elevator take a look at our elevator truck, it allows you to load road waiting vehicles while keeping your tractors/trailers in the field. a quick search of "Elevator Truck" should bring it up.

    Since a kid as Farmer, this looks slick - I'm sure most kids that stop by here haven't a clue...
    but I'm not sure it's function as beet off-loader -
    Loading it - does trailer chase the harvester - or sit at the end of field -
    then loaded with each pass?
    Last time going through outback of Germany -
    Huge piles of beets in the fields. Never saw how it was handled.
    Is there rubber belting to slow the freefall of beets into trailer? loading /unloading...
    Not sure if the product is prone to bruising.
    We used to do somewhat similar to loading snow into dump trucks -
    but it cost 4 times as much - and 4 times the time loading getting bucket that high.
    vs container flat on the ground - picked up when loaded.

      I would suggest a read of the description and comments might be in order.
      The trailer in the video was merely being tested to see how it would cope with that metrial/crop as it was initally designed to chases sugarbeet.
      That is why the crop is loaded in manually (as it would normally be loaded directly in to the chaser from the forager in the field).

      This video does not show the 'purpose of the trailer'. It simply shows a 'trial' of the trailer pushing out Maize (which was loaded from a clamp rather than being filled directly in the field). You would not use this trailer like this normally.... Take a look at some of our other videos and you might understand. The trailer would be filled directly in the field, driven to the headland where it would empty is contents in to a waiting truck, which in turns would transport it to the yard/store/AD plant etc... It's a simple concept. Again, this video shows a simple 'trial' on maize and not how the machine is intended to work.

    • @LarringtonTrailersChannel
      @LarringtonTrailersChannel  9 лет назад +2

      Reading previous comments might also help....
      "This was purely a trial of the trailer on maize, and was done simply to help us gauge how the trailer handled maize and what 'tweaks' needed to be made. The trailer would normally be used in the field and would be loaded directly by the harvester before taking the load to the headland and transferring it directly in to a waiting lorry to bring it back to the yard/clamp. (something a front loader could never do)."

      ralph bruckart Read the description and other previously comments to understand this trailer. This was merely a test in the yard allowing us to view the operation easily from every angle. The trailer would be towed through the field with a tractor, and eject the load directly in to a waiting lorry (There are other videos showing this with sugar beet and grain). This was to gauge what adjustments were required to enable the machine to cope with maize only.

    why not load the commercial trailer direct and avoid any waste and save time

    • @LarringtonTrailersChannel
      @LarringtonTrailersChannel  10 лет назад +3

      You would normally fill the Chaser trailer in the field, and transfer the load in to a commercial lorry waiting on the road side. This enables you to quickly load the commercial lorry from the headland without having to drag it through the field (keeping mud off the roads). Running this system enables you to fill the chaser while the next lorry pulls up waiting for a load to be transferred. Since this initial test, the chaser has also been altered specially for the transfer of Maize so there is no waste either.

I think the problem is that you obviously don't understand the point of the trailer, and have obviously not read any of the comments previously posted either. Either that, or you're an idiot. To suggest taking a front loader into the field and filling it directly from a harvester/forager, is INSANE! You'd destroy your land, not to mention waste huge amounts of time!
      Should chaser bins be replaced with a front loader too !? or maybe a wheelbarrow !? You have no idea what you're talking about ! Who in their right mind would voice an opinion on a video without reading comments or understanding the machine they're writing about !? - Oh yeah, you did....

So please don't take offense to my comment, similarly to you posting before reading, I spoke (typed) before thinking... thanks for the kisses though, they are sure to get my day started on the right foot ! ;) Hope you equally have a great day my friend ! :)

    • @user-kn3cy1oz9x
      @user-kn3cy1oz9x 8 лет назад +3

      +realkrasta I haven't read all comments either but I assume that this trailer could chase the field chopper and then transfer it into the Lorry or like we call it a Semi trailer. And maybe in this instance the loader could not reach high enough and the chase trailer was available to fill the Lorry. But I think it was just a trial deal. If they are planning on using this in the field next to the Maize Harvester aka Chopper, it would need higher sides or half a roof so less Maize would blow out during harvesting. It's a sugar beet trailer. Have a nice day.

    Gentleman ,that's the best you can do ? I don't really think is a good idea , it looks like just waste of time , a lot of time and money ......Galileo Galilei is shaking in his tomb :-(((

      Giordano Colombo Looks can be deceiving....Read the description and other comments replies for more information. This concept has enabled a carrot grower to reduce the time in which he lifts his carrots by almost half while reducing the impact on his land during wet seasons, a beet grower has increased his output by over 25%, just 2 examples which sound like a lot of time and money saved ! ;)

      This machine is anything but a waste of time OR money. Transferring maize directly into a bulker at the side of the field saves on both time and money, and while working with sugar beet and other products during the wetter seasons this machine will not only speed up logistics but keep mud off the roads too. - Read the full description and other comments on posts to get a better understanding of the machine.

    ces vraiment nul comme système, d'abord le manitou doit remplir une remorque pour remplir une ' autre ' remorque ?! Dite moi à quoi ça sert ?! Ils perdent deux fois plus de temps, une connerie de plus au palmarès.

      +nicolas mortreuil I would suggest reading the comments, online translators can help you with that if required.
      But you don't need to load twice, it was a TEST, to see what CHANGES might be required when working on MAIZE. These changes have now been made and we can handle maize beautifully now. You would take the trailer in tothe field and load it directly from the harvester and then load a waiting bulker directly at the headland.

    Well what a faff , Why not have silos which a lorry can go under then release as required!! 🙄

      You'll have to let us know what brand of silos you're using and planning to take into the field.

    Sorry!!! This machine is not a "need"...its a "want". Only hobbies and rich farmers are going to buy this ...This will not be an industrial farm success because the work it does can be achieved by a simple conveyor and with a lot less fossil fuel consumption.

      +Writing. A comment which I'm sure was meant to be a sensible comment, but a STUPID comment nonetheless. How are you planning to load a road-side lorry from an elevator tied to a harvester as it drives through your fields !? Did you read any of the comments !? Do you understand what this machine is actually used for !? And with mud on roads being a HUGE problem (which causes lots of accidents) don't be surprised if chaser trailers don't start becoming the 'norm'.

      +Writing. Just like grain carts were a "want", and would never have a place on industrial farms. You hardly see a serious grain farm without one any more.

    wow what a waste this trailer is, why not just make it a high-tip trailer like so many dos and has proven that it works the best

    • @LarringtonTrailersChannel
      @LarringtonTrailersChannel  6 лет назад +1

      Because high-tip trailers are dangerous by nature. Also, are limited in purpose.
      The Chaser trailer can hold a considerably bigger load, be used to chase anything from Sugarbeet to rape seed, and you have a fully functional Ejector (Push-off) trailer at the same time. You can also load a lorry (on the road) while the trailer is still in the field (keeping that dangerous mud off the roads). /
      Did you want any more reasons !?

      Hej søren ! Thank you for you comment. You will no doubt have missed the many previous comments saying the same thing. As mentioned countless times before, this machine is not to replace a loader, the loader was only used to fill the trailer in the customer's yard for ease of testing purposes... The trailer is designed to be loaded in the field (where you wouldn't have a loader) and is then used to load a commercial trailer directly from the field, which again you couldn't do with a 'bigger loader'.
      The trailer in the video was built to chase sugar beet into a road waiting vehicle, and this video shows our initial tests on maize, which were done in a yard rather than the field as it allowed to get a better view of what changes needed to be made to better handle this crop.
