Love this vid. Thanks for putting it together. Saw him play for Aberdeen and it was really cool. Never seemed over matched or uncomfortable. Definitely something special. Was always a big fan of his dad.
There are different positions in football that have different roles. For example, a Center will never be compared to a wr. Baseball is the same thing everyone knows how to field and throw. In football the objective is different for every single player.
@@shaneschwartz1018 there are different positions on baseball and they all require different skill sets you can't compare a closer to a center fielder being the best prospect means that you're the best out of all prospects regardless of position having multiple #1 prospects isn't accurate you can have different prospects rank #1 in their respective position but at the end of the day one of those prospects is the better player out of everyone
I have never seen this in 30 years of following high school football recruiting. ESPN might have kid A at # 1 and rivals might have kid B at # 1. But I’ve never seen someone rank two football players at number 1. Could you give an example of a year it happened?
@@jakenbake9878 it happened when Bryce Harper was in high school he was the consensus #1 prospect in the country not just in HS but also among College players I believe he graduated HS early and attended a D1 or JUCO level college to have some experience at that level but he dominated that even tho he was a few years younger than everyone else
Absolutely love his approach at the plate, hitting the ball to left field when pitched away. He’s a good mix of new/old school. I’m a little nervous with his long stride to the ball….maybe a too reliant on timing.
When you can have a serviceable SS that bats left you get extra base runners. More trips to first equals more runs scored. He gets on base. That’s valuable.
As a lifelong, die hard, O’s fan from Baltimore, born into this fandom in 1983, im still hurt by our being swept outta the playoffs, but not disappointed, amazing year, and can u imagine this teams future?? Him 19, Gunnar 22, Adley 25, Mounty 26, G Rod 23, westburg 24, Cowser 23, Hays 28, Kjerstad 24, ceddy 29, Mateo 28.. funny that the old heads ain’t even 30 yet 😂😂😂
Don’t forget about Coby Mayo he is the 27th ranked prospect in all of baseball he hit 30 Hrs 100RBI this year in Bowie and Norfolk and he is only 22 he plays 3rd and 1st and they say he has the strongest infield arm in the organization.
A 19 year old getting $8.19 million bonus to play baseball makes about as much sense as denying 10,000 homeless US veterans a place to sleep or a meal to eat. AMEN
They’re gonna put him on HGH Injections bc his plates likely have not fused yet so he could grow lab wise, taller and longer… then they will put him on Deca or D-bol to put on 20-25lbs inside 2 months. MLB, tends to do this to make talent larger, stronger, more durable at bat. They did it to Bryce Harper… remember his size when he entered the league lol. His forearms alone are 3 times the size now, that they once were… those are injection based results.
Does anyone think the number 1 draft pick isn't going to get as much as the big club can invest into his future? He's super talented, young and with the big club behind him, only a matter of time before he's the dude for the O's! Jeter too was young and not terribly successful his first two years out the gate in the minors, but the club put a lot of time and effort into him and it paid off for the Yanks too. Good to be the numero uno!!
Ummmmm Rangers are also set for multiple future runs. Not only do they already have a stacked roster, Evan Carter just proved what he could do during the WS run and they have Wyatt Langford, Brock Porter and Jack Leiter all waiting to come up soon. I would not be surprised to see the Oriels and Rangers both battling in future postseasons to come.
Orioles may be good but team stars come and go the rangers have alot signed but will need pitching if they could win championship s that would be great
Johnny bench was a prodigy in the bigs at 19 h of gamer by 23 two mvp and crazy numbers in 70-72 how about he makes the bigs first 99% of all aaa player never make it to the bigs
Let's be real. If your dad is a pro you'll never have to actually work for anything. Sports are a joke now. Entitled people or very poor people who live off food stamps so they don't need a job and can focus on sports. If a kid has to get a job no way he will ever be a pro.
@@mx4159 they are in win now mode, they need pitching and I suspect when all the young kids are FA, they won’t be able to sign them. Jackson Holiday’s position is also blocked right now by Henderson and some other guys. They need pitching depth and it showed in the post season 🤷♂️ (Luciano probably has more power and is also one of Giants top prospects, plays short)
@@morcatna4767 no it’s not? Their core of players is gonna be with them for at least another 5 years. The team wasn’t expected to deliver as early as it did, but now that it has, there is a lot of time to build upon this past season. They have plenty of time to win a WS They also have the best farm in baseball, and they have the 2nd lowest payroll. If they want to address their weaknesses, they can either spend money (which is unlikely for them but still possible) or make trades. Their farm system is good enough so that they don’t need to trade Holliday to address their weaknesses. Also, Gunnar played a lot of 3B, so he’ll either move there or Holliday will move to 2B/3B
That’s an advanced bat? Weird maybe I should reset my baseball standards… long swing from a small player = strikeout king I’ll pass but good luck kid prove me wrong nothing would make me happier
Most overrated prospect. How can he be rated #1? Not big, not fast, arm not great, numbers in Triple A about average for league stats, last game 0-5, not one good contact even foul. Hopefully he is not #1 prospect.
Good thing dad is who he is, he should be able to guide his son in the future pretty well. Just stay away from the inevitable gold-digging skanks that will pop up and he should be ok. Just enjoy being a star and take a page from the derek jeter playbook on how to deal with women and he will be ok.

Glad you enjoyed it! He’s going to be a stud! Can’t wait to see him in Baltimore!
I saw him for the short time he was at the Delmarva Shorebirds. Immediately could tell that kid was something special
It’s nice to see High school baseball has actual national rankings and doesn’t just call everyone #1 in the nation like high school football does.
i’m not familiar with football but that’s crazy I wonder why football is like that

He’s like a cross between Matt Holliday and chase utley
Hoping the best for him. He played with my son early in high school and his dad was an assistant coach... great with the kids.
A shortstop or 2b with Matt holiday line drive destruction? That’s a potential hall of famer.
can be scary!!!
He's gonna need juice like his daddy .. he's frail

Even though the Rangers sweeped ya'll it was not an easy series. The orioles are gonna be very good I think.
Great video! Crazy to think it could be Dodgers vs Orioles in the WS when their minor league teams faced off for the championship too.
yes bro it’s absolutely insane especially considering BAL didn’t really expect to content to this level this year.
damn 😭
It is nice to see the USA producing a future star.
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Actually the clear cut favorite was Druw Jones... I was upset they took Holliday instead of Jones.
Termarr Johnson -330 -- Druw Jones +400.

I wish him the best and hope he continues to improve, but I doubt he'll ever be as good as that 19yr old big league ss Robin Yount, but who is?
Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do! 💪🏼
When do they get him a helmet that fits?
haha i know
I’m glad my Rangers got a World Series win before the O’s take over the AL for the next decade.

Now there’s looking like a kid… and THEN there’s looking like a KID!
When Spring Training 2024 is concluded, Jax will be on the Opening Day roster.
i can see it
Who had more hype at this point in their career in the minors, Jackson Holliday or Bryce Harper?
Eyesight is more than half the battle
I hope he eventually gets a helmet that doesn’t fall off with every swing
Ganna be good by Wyatt Langford is going to be great
Word
That kinda money is insane. I have a hard time understanding that.
it really is crazy how much first rounders get especially top 5 guys
He hits like Reggie Jackson that's what I think
Trade pawn for a much needed starting #1 pitcher.
hes untouchable.

Decent player. Like many of them...... no where ready for prime time not even close...looks cute however
batting .033 in show though, he just might be a huge bust
Give this kid a break about his hair. He might as well enjoy it until his gets his dad’s hairline
Now your in the big time kid! Get a haircut and start looking like a ball player! I'm old school
lol 😂 you don’t like the hair flow?
People like you need to go away, control freaks but most of all no respect.
What does the length of his hair have to do with the way he plays baseball??
Cool now go get a haircut
😂
Jackson Holliday is like Bronny James, only good at his sport...
solid point lol

Why would the orioles ever trade him

be a bust
