Do these top hockey academies simply not teach body checking at all anymore? I watched the full game & seriously lost track of how many plays could’ve been shut down with even a slight bump. I mean coaches like Carvel (UMass) talk about getting players that couldn’t even hit a stationary object, why NCAA & NHL scouts aren’t putting pressure on these academies is crazy to me
lol You grandpas are so right. Hockey stinks when it is high scoring and fun to watch. People want to see the children hitting each other and getting hurt.
@@toadvine7952 A) There is zero doubt I’m younger than you. B) Hockey is great because it combines physicality & skill/scoring but not when it’s very unbalanced. C) hitting is part of good defense, & is a skill that should be taught & practiced just like offense. D) no one said anything about getting hurt, though injury can happen in sports. And D) many of these kids want to advance higher where knowing how to hit/take a hit is important. But no, a fool like you is surely right
it is clear at full speed he did not touch it but if you need to slow it down go for it, he never touched the puck prior to it corssing the line, I am not sure he ever touched it@@coltyaviation
@@CalgaryDynastar and you think Shattuck is more affordable? At least Shattuck is a legit private school. Only three CSSHL teams are actual private schools and not simply hockey academies.
these kids look like highschool kids maybe a little younger but i have not seen 1 person take the body especially when the other team is coming down the ice trying to break the d. they are all looking down at the puck or ice instead of keeping their heads up. They will learn soon to keep their heads up and more goals will start to come or 1 good d player will lay them out on the ice.!!!! also who ever is recording this you need to stop zooming in so close. or get someone that does this for a living to make a real for the kids to show colleges in the future. I made my video and it got me all the way to the AHL
Sorry Dave, let me get right on that I will stop zooming in and get more “professional”. Even though I have interests of teams higher up. I get it if you’re not familiar with this style of filming just say that. This is not filmed to show the whole ice surface. The one thing I agree with is the hitting aspect, there needs to be more. Watch the NHL there’s none, it’s slowly coming out of hockey. I’d love to see you “video”.
I was seriously just saying the same thing. I can’t imagine the coaches are that incompetent, it surely must be the parents paying tens of thousands demand that their kids not even get bruises
@@Max_m I mean I just think it’s experience and not being comfortable and also being able to play at a high pace. Most of the Ssm kids(assuming they’ve played in u.s) have only been hitting for a year before this since they are 2009’s I don’t know canadas situation I know they hit a lot earlier but I have seen in America a lot of kids play-styles aren’t physical because they learned always to not hit. And they have found a way to play so fast without being physical.
Surprised shattucks other goalie wasn’t playing for this big of a game. He’s having a super good year
Really liked how SSM carried themselves in the beginning. No screaming or yelling. Just calm and locked in.
Coaches were yelling after the second disallowed goal.
#14 on Edge used to go to school with me. Funny that this came up in my reccomended 😅
outstanding game
calgary's goalie is huge
Every Canadian goalie is I swear
Wow. What a game!
Boys were buzzin for sure
What a game

I do agree there, body checking is something that’s slowly just becoming no longer about of the game.
Hockey is garbage now days, I rarely tap into an nhl game, no hitting and if there is a good hit someone retaliates with a fight. Sad really
@@A-Bomb401 just kids now days have been taught to not play physical because they start hitting so old

Lotta early stoppages for such an important game
Minnesota has 233 players playing collegiately. The next state has less than 130. Minnesota high school hockey is on another level
Yo My u13 rented out the arena before at edge you were playing. I'm pretty sure it was called kyle stuart alumni arena 2!
Ref’s a goof with the celebrations.
#16 did not put the second Ssm goal in😂😂 3:00
Yes he did lmao

ugh that is the worst, that was blatant stealing a goal from a teammate. his teammates will make fun of him for it and they should. Team before me.

It's U14?

Shattuck U14 against Edge U15
Shattuck 14U (not U14) vs Edge U15. Both the same birth year.

What’s even more gross is the tuition paid to attend the edge school….

They had a shattuck st Mary’s showcase and there is not u15 in America

It’s zoomed for the purpose to showcase the puck carrier for a tik tok.

neither of these teams could likely beat Wayzata/Chanhassen or other top MN high school team.
Shattuck st Mary’s beat some top teams in MN. Not to mention these boys are 13-14 therefore they wouldn’t play the high school teams.
