    Volkswagen should be brave enough to put a similar styled car into production.
    Some years ago Renault brought out their insane Clio V6 which looked amazing and went just as well.
    With such an impressive World Rally pedigree in the humble Polo, a limited production run would draw the customers like a moth to a flame.

      Well actually I can afford such a car, with my current transport a 7month old Jaguar XJ Portfolio.
      I was commenting on the fact that there is huge demand for limited run insane road cars.
      The Renault Clio V6 was never an affordable option for most of us, with the engine taking up the entire boot space.
      The only place for ones shopping or suitcase was on the passenger seat.
      With such a huge following and incredible success in the WRC, VW should be brave enough to offer such a car for those of us brave enough to want one.

      I run my own IT business consultancy, advising companies on the use of Electronic data collection and management.
      I fondly remember owning a 1989 VW Golf Gti 16v, it never let me down, and once I replaced it I unwisely bought a Peguot 309 GTi instead.
      A quick car, but the body panels were wafer thin, and the build quality was years behind VW.
      Standing in Conway high street last November, those fabulous Polos looked amazing, and with the huge financial backing of VW behind them, they will probably win the championship again.
      Renault were brave enough to build their insane Clio V6, it found customers,
      I think if VW had a limited production run like Ford did with their RS200, and Rover did with their Metro 6R4, then the cars would sell.

      +Peter Lewis I really agree with you! The Rally version of VW Polo is a beauty! I would most definetely buy a version of it or heck, even trade my 2014 Golf R MK7 for a Polo WRC with sound, body and performance like this one!

      I think the golf 6R looks pretty mental ^^ I myself have a golf mk3 syncro vr6 -95 with the -99 24 valve vr6 engine in it waiting to get some more done to it^^

    Does anyone know if there's any street legal body kits like this one? It looks sick!

      +flaxboi If you're gonna have look like that, buy the real deal. Maybe they'll be cheap in 2017 when the new ones come. Only 100.000 dollars instead 500K

    Less likely to roll because its wider, lower and that spoiler is providing great downforce plus 4Motion conversion

    So interesting , what modifications makes this car turns like this , is it just a hand brake turn or something special. I have kept watching this video again and a gain but I still cant get it.

      Otiesh Francis reduced wheel base, good E-brake (e.g. ASD lever dedicated for race use), driver acquainted with the mass and setup of their car.

    what are those small lights in the front and in the back that face down on the tarmac ?

    • @marcandrecote6900
      @marcandrecote6900 9 лет назад +5

      Late reply, but those optical are slip angle sensors. They measure the angle of the vehicle's heading relative to the ground. By having one in the front and rear you can work out the chassis angle relative to the corner radius. They're used for tyre caracterisation & optimising car setup. They work by tracking points on the ground and measuring where the point ends up a fraction of a second later. Expensive stuff, most race teams can't have them permanently on the car!

      Thanks. I was thinking it had something to do about the cars position.. but that was it

    does pulling the handbrake hurt awd cars ?

    • @Nickoo2010
      @Nickoo2010 8 лет назад

      +im floop Yeah, but the car is specially built to support stress, and the driver is actually depressing the clutch before so, no damage really

    • @hunni_chan
      @hunni_chan 8 лет назад

      Nico Guerrero what about a wrx subi on gravel, can i pull it then ?

    • @geluix69
      @geluix69 8 лет назад

      actually they don't push the clutch , the input of the rear differential disengages when the handbrake is pulled. WRC cars can go full trottle when pulling the handbrake. WRC cars are no were comparable to a street car in any way.

    • @hunni_chan
      @hunni_chan 8 лет назад

      jean luc Dubinator yeah thats a given about the wrc vs street cars. I just wanted to know if i could put mine into a slide easier without damaging the drivetrain or differentials.

    • @geluix69
      @geluix69 8 лет назад

      +im floop unless you do it while in gear , there's is no damage caused by handbrake turns.

      Maciek Kamiński Pas vraiment. Ce sont des capteurs optique de position d'assiette.
      Cela permet au ingénieurs de régler rapidement la compression lente des amortisseurs avec une pression proche de la perfection.
      La compression lente a pour rôle de maintenir un équilibre dynamique entre la plongée et le cabrage de la voiture.
      Jusque là, ce n’était utilisé que dans des compétition en circuit à gros budget, genre du genre F1, WEC, DTM, parce que les voitures ont si peu de débattement et génèrent tellement d’appuis aéro, que le pilote ne peut pas régler ça au filing. Surtout si le châssis est équipé de suspensions FRIC comme c’était le cas en F1. Le pilote ne ressent ses effets que sur le grip général de la voiture pas sur son comportement.
      Jusqu'à l'arrivé de VW en WRC c'est une technologie qui n'avait pas lieu d’être en rallye asphalte.
      Ils ne devraient pas pouvoir utiliser cette technologie pour régler la voiture en configuration terre. Le ressentis du pilote reste plus efficace sur cette surface.
