@@3xperiment8 Put the celts stronghold for attact speed instead of the georgian pierce bonus. Or these together with the feared Donjon.
Still no match for the legion.
Was really cool to see super glass cannon CA with Magyars and Japanese bonus damage vs free, super tanky CA with Huns, Turks and Tatars. Your CA may have had way less HP and armor but their extra armor did nothing against the +20 bonus damage, and 17 range is no joke.
The most painful part was saying "we need to counter CA" and not going for free faster firing scorpions, and the second most painful part was talking about cutting with onager when you had those insta packing fast firing trebs right there
DAMN that CA transition was smooth

I've never lol'd out loud during a game, but I could not stop laughing whenever those trebs unpacked!!

You saw Legionaries with high HP and attack speed. You wait to see them doing 50 splash damage too.

@@3xperiment8 I know that this dies fast to Celts + Ethiopians fast firing ICMBs, but Infantry is literally the type of units which received most of the buff types in the game. High armor, high hp, high damage, high attack speed, high move speed.
Besides, the Roman player can use one Elite Centurion to buff the movement speed of his Legionaries.
One could also go with:
Sicilians (Serjeants with 355 HP, 65 damage, 22/22 armor and Donjons with over 10k hp and 11 arrows. Also, no bonus damage. First crusade will also be nice for a first charge.)
Celts (fast movement + fast shooting for the Donjons)
Vikings (X3 base HP, yes, better than the Armenians +300. It will make the Serjeants get 1065 hp. Also B)
And then whatever you want depending on what you want to counter:
Japanese for big melee battles (may be needed agaisnt Cataphracts)
Romans (tenfold the effect of the infantry armor upgrades + Legionaries for everyone. Serjeants with 65 damage, 1k hp and 52/62 armor. Rivals even the Persian Elephant which lacks the melee armor advantage. Slavs, Byzantines and Poles remain a menace due to splash damage).
Goths for free fast produced infantry. With this you can be sure you'll only trade cost efficiently. At this point the Sicilian player can solo thanks to all the buffs 😂
Slavs for splash damage (and fast farming too!)
Armenians for another 300 health (not much over the already high 1065 super Serjeant HP)

If I may suggest a really good map for x10, its a map that has been only recently created (not by me), specifically for x10, its watery amazon tunnel. Basically AT but with large lakes in the tunnel at very strategically important positions. Balances out quite a lot of match ups. Highly reccomend for future x10 games :)

Most OP civs on this map = Romans/Ethiopians/Khmers/Persians/Teutons

i'm thinking the best comp is goths + romans + slavs + bulgarians. you'd have free infantry that produces instantly, deals splash damage, has 50 armor and 200 hp

If we had, Japanese, Britons, Tatars, and Hun on one team. Trebuchets basically become nuke machine guns.
