They look stunning! And I think that part of the video showing the paint in the air should definitely be shown to anyone that thinks they don’t need a respirator when doing spraying!!
Yes!!!! I wish I could get my hands on some hotel Furniture when they do the renovations!!! they are so good! (i worked in hotels 16 years, so I know) once I stayed in one were they still had the old Thomasville furniture! The best!!! I could stop contemplating it! lol... what a freak! lol
Thank you for telling us how much you bought the nightstands, how much your material cost, how much time you spent, and how much you would sell these for. I am thinking about getting into furniture flipping, and I love knowing the more “business” side of things, it really helps me out with knowing different price ranges
I love hand painting. But there is just something about spraying a finish. I love it too. I go in spurts. I’ll want to brush everything. Then I’ll spray something and fall in love with how quick I can finish a project and how good the finish looks. These look great. I love the black. I can’t wait to see the second set.
Love love love as usual Kate!❤ Side note, Tricorn Black is our truest black and we also have a package Black in Satin (better coverage because it’s pure black paint, not tinted)
They look lovely :D. When you said "Emerald paint" I thought "She's painting them emerald green!". Now I want to see the other set with an emerald green base, gold edging around the draw and more rub and buff handles. Sooo not neutral. I look forward to seeing your next flip- you make things look amazing.
“Little black dress” - I’ve never heard that used in reference to furniture before. In this case I think it really works. I don’t know if you ever use that in your marketing, I think it would. 😁👍🏻 I really like that you sprayed the inside of it too. Nice pieces. 😁 Just as an aside… I don’t know why but I’m getting a ‘Southwestern’ - New Mexico vibe from the bottom of that nightstand. I know that doesn’t go with some of the rest of it…I wonder if something that direction might be interesting…(?)…That might a good idea…LOL… Perhaps just one of those colors…. LOL. I’ll stop writing now. 😄
I love them, they are gorgeous. And I also love watching you sand and paint your projects! Thank you for taking us along. Can't wait to see your next video!!
Stunning! I enjoy your step by step instructions. You have inspired me. We are in the process of building a vacation mountain home. I hope to refinish used furniture to decorate our home. Thank you. Love love love you videos.
🙋♀️love watching your videos Katie! Very lovely colors. Only you would use Visa to apply furniture wood filler. 😂 Visa. It’s everywhere you want to be.
Beautiful! I get up every Saturday morning like a kid getting up for cartoons! You mentioned you have a hanging/ceiling air filter. Can you share some details about that? Thank you!!
I bought this: urlgeni.us/amzn/WENairfiltration a few months ago to see if it would help cut back on the dust mess in the garage and it's made a HUGE difference! We have it hanging from the ceiling in between the garage door tracks and it catches a ton of paint particles for me. I think it's a great investment of you're spraying, sanding or cutting a lot. (affiliate link earns commission)
Beautiful makevover! I am a little concerned about your eyes and not wearing full goggle safety glasses etc. while spraying. Got to protect your peepers friend. 😎 Keep up the beautiful projects. Take care! 💛
I've never noticed any irritation but I think my regular glasses probably catch the majority of what's coming at them. I can barely afford regular lenses in my prescription so I'd hate to know what prescription goggles would cost!
I would love to see you try and do a super high gloss finish on wood via paint. Acrylic furniture is super trendy right now and I’m even going to say as far as pieces with a black shiny lacquer mirror finish. Acrylic furniture is pricey, so I would love to see your DIY version. High gloss has been out of style for so long, it’s hard to find the right products. Maybe even a clash of textures of finishes on a single experimental piece would be fun to watch for viewers to keep learning new techniques? Keep up the great work. I’ve learned a lot from you. -Yeesa from Madison, WI.
I love the work you do and have followed your path for the last year or so. I have 2 questions for you or for anyone else who refinishes furniture: Question #1) how do you get around HIGH HUMIDITY when it comes to painting? I live in SE Georgia and I swear there are days where it feels like the sky is sitting on my shoulders. Do you just paint anyway and give it longer to dry? Question #2): I have noticed that most furniture flippers (big- or little-time) all work independently. Some have helpers, but it's still their own little ball of gilding wax. How would you deal with someone that wants to be part of the process, but always seems to hold up said process because it isn't the "perfect" condition to paint/sand/work???? This is really driving me crazy and has limited me for the last 4 years. Help!!! (Apologies in advance, but I have cross-posted these questions on a few of the people I follow because I am at my wit's end!!!)
Since a nightstand would take some wear and tear, can you share why you didn't put any sort of wax or finish on the tops of them? Thanks for the input. Learning so much from your videos!
Yes !!!! That burl is not kost niw. Show the other color for that second set, should you get a chance. Thank you. Grest eye. Great teacher. Canadians rock!
Does black sell well in your area? Just curious why black or your process for deciding color. With that asked, I love watching and learning from you as I update all my old furniture for myself. I am addicted so I do pick up a few pieces to “practice” on using so many techniques I learn from you and a few of your other flipper friends. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
I think black sells well in any area! It's a classic neutral that a lot of people can work into their spaces and it's always moved well for me. Happy Painting!
Hi Katie! I just subscribed recently and am going through all your incredible videos. Do you happen to have one about necessary materials for woodworking for beginners? Or any you suggest? Thank you!
You could add a little bit of water if you needed to but it sprays easily without water and it stays wet for a decent amount of time to level itself out do adding water would increase the risk of drips.
Love your videos! You're an inspiration. In prepping a black painted pine piece for white paint, do you recommend the Kilz Restoration or BIN Shellac Primer?
Kate, how do you protect your glasses from the spray paint? The reason that I didn't spay paint is most safety glasses don't fit properly over my glasses.
I enjoy watching your videos. I just bought an HVLP sprayer and quickly realized that the small compressor we have will not work. What size compressor do you have?
They have such a classic look. Very nice, I like! QUESTION: If I were to use a roller, do you have a favorite that gives a smoothe finish? I'm in Arizona.
I would ask someone working at Sherwin Williams what they recommend using with this paint but something with a short nap is usually the way to get the smoothest finish.
Katie- I saw the Howard's Feed 'N Wax on your shelf. Wondering what would've happened if you lightly buffed the beryl drawer sections before adding the hardware?
Do you save the trim pieces to potentially use in a future project? I agree with the dust catching thought, but at the same time, they could be so pretty on just the right piece!!
Really pretty. Did you score the frog tape that you put over the burled wood? It seems like if I use the blue tape and don’t take it off right away it peels so badly. I guess is frog tape worth the extra money?
They look stunning! And I think that part of the video showing the paint in the air should definitely be shown to anyone that thinks they don’t need a respirator when doing spraying!!
I totally agree!
Yes, you definitely MUST wear a respirator when spraying!
YES! AGREE!
THANKS. WEIRD how hotels, hospitals-' yes, etc. redecorate often n go up on the prices.
You are in GREAT SHAPE to be able to bop up n down the way you do!!! Enjoy your youthatility', VERY' SURE I JUST MADE THAT WORD UP❗ PEACE.
I love how thorough you are in instruction right down to clean up! Beautiful result as usual. Thanks for another great tutorial.
Glad it was helpful!
Love your attention to detail. Great job! They look amazing!
I’m not usually a fan of black, but you did a great job. The burl wood looks great and breaks up the dark.
Can't wait to see what the other pair will look like.
I did not think the handles would look that good. You have a great eye 👍🏻
Thank you for such a great tutorial on revamping those nightstands. I love the black with the burlwood drawers.
Yes!!!! I wish I could get my hands on some hotel Furniture when they do the renovations!!! they are so good! (i worked in hotels 16 years, so I know) once I stayed in one were they still had the old Thomasville furniture! The best!!! I could stop contemplating it! lol... what a freak! lol
I am SO happy you didn’t do anything with the burled wood! I saw another refinisher paint over it and it broke my heart! Love your channel, thanks.
These turned out so beautiful. Keeping the drawer fronts was a great choice. Adds a little something extra.
Debbi from Cincinnati here! You never fail to amaze me! The furniture looks awesome! And so do you!
OUTSTANDING , so nice, good job !
Thank you so much 😀
I agree about the burl wood! Genius!
These are so beautiful now🎉🎉🎉
Very pretty, they look very high end! Great job!
These are stunning!

I appreciate that caulk in the seams. Such a professional finish.
I love how you are always teaching us as you make these into such beautiful pieces.
You nailed it again and the black is timeless ❤
So stylish. Love the mixture of the black carcass with the burl faced drawer. Looking forward to viewing all of your other content 😊
Love love love as usual Kate!❤
Side note, Tricorn Black is our truest black and we also have a package Black in Satin (better coverage because it’s pure black paint, not tinted)
Every time I’ve used tricorn black, it’s been blue! I’ll have to ask about the package black next time I’m in the store.
these are GORGEOUS
Wow. They look great and I bet they are sturdy.
The other set would be beautiful in a neutral, earth tone color. This set is beautiful.
Turned out great as usual! I'd love to see the next set done in a dark blue. Actually, I'd love to see you do more sets in different colors!
Gorgeous
They came out gorgeous!
Looks great! ❤
Navy would look great with that burl color. Nice.
They look lovely :D. When you said "Emerald paint" I thought "She's painting them emerald green!". Another beautiful project completed. ❤❤❤❤❤
They are very nice.

Loved the burled wood! And the rub n buff is perfect.
I luv the Burke wood drawer and black combination! Beautiful!!!
Really love how those turned out! You are so good at what you do!
And you have the prettiest hands and nails!
I love them, they are gorgeous. And I also love watching you sand and paint your projects! Thank you for taking us along. Can't wait to see your next video!!
Love these!
They are beautiful ❤
Nice job again, Katie! I got my daughter her first grownup bed from a hotel sale....30 some years ago!
Katie! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Pads for my mouse sander❤❤❤❤
Loved the color on these!
Looks really nice
They look sooo good Katie! You are a very good teacher…I always learn something wether it’s about wood or the types of paint! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Absolutely beautiful x
Thank you! 😊
Great tutorial, thank you.
You are welcome!
Stunning! I enjoy your step by step instructions. You have inspired me. We are in the process of building a vacation mountain home. I hope to refinish used furniture to decorate our home. Thank you. Love love love you videos.
They look great!!! Hope they sell soon!!! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🫶🏻
Love the look! Beautiful work as always Katie!
I love them! Going for simple and classic is the key. These would fit into many different homes, I'm siure.
They look so much better ❤
very nice. I'm glad you picked up two sets.
Beautiful! 🎉
Nice job!
Those are beautiful!! Love your channel 😊
Those look amazing! That hotel is probably like wow... give us those back 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂yep!!
Marvelous.
Sooo fun!
Beautiful makeover on those little tables! The burl wood veneer looks great with the paint color you chose!
🙋♀️love watching your videos Katie! Very lovely colors.
Only you would use Visa to apply furniture wood filler. 😂
Visa. It’s everywhere you want to be.
It’s an empty gift card. I don’t think there’s anything too exciting about using trash to spread filler 😜❤️
Definitely a Pro😍
Really nice
These look great! I would love to see more detail in videos about how you are adjusting the settings of your spray gun for certain paints.
Love the rug you placed the finished pieces on!! The nightstands are lovely. Would love to see the lighter nightstands if you do them.
Stunning redo

Taking that rope trim was a good choice.
Love!
Look amazing ❤

Beautiful ❤️
Unreal!
Nice can be mixed with different wood stains since they are two tone.

As I shared in the video this urethane enamel paint does not require any additional topcoating product to stand up to wear and tear.
Yes !!!! That burl is not kost niw. Show the other color for that second set, should you get a chance. Thank you. Grest eye. Great teacher. Canadians rock!
Your awesome!!

The burled wood needs an oil or something to touch it up. Then they will be really pretty!
Very pretty 😊
Hi Katie! I just subscribed recently and am going through all your incredible videos. Do you happen to have one about necessary materials for woodworking for beginners? Or any you suggest? Thank you!
Nice job on this flip. Have you ever tried adding water to the cabinet paint so it sprays easily?💖💖💖
You could add a little bit of water if you needed to but it sprays easily without water and it stays wet for a decent amount of time to level itself out do adding water would increase the risk of drips.
@@salvagedbykscott Thank you for your advise. I have the same little sprayer you have
Nice. ❤❤
Love your videos! You're an inspiration. In prepping a black painted pine piece for white paint, do you recommend the Kilz Restoration or BIN Shellac Primer?
If you’re going white, I’d always say BIN shellac.
Kate, how do you protect your glasses from the spray paint? The reason that I didn't spay paint is most safety glasses don't fit properly over my glasses.
I don’t protect them. I just wipe the dust off of them when I’m done spraying.
I enjoy watching your videos. I just bought an HVLP sprayer and quickly realized that the small compressor we have will not work. What size compressor do you have?
I have a humongous 60 gallon tank but mist guns recommend at least 30 gallons for continuous spraying.
Well done using paper rather than plastic to mask off
They have such a classic look. Very nice, I like! QUESTION: If I were to use a roller, do you have a favorite that gives a smoothe finish? I'm in Arizona.
I would ask someone working at Sherwin Williams what they recommend using with this paint but something with a short nap is usually the way to get the smoothest finish.
The nightstands look great after being flipped.
❤️❤️❤️
Katie- I saw the Howard's Feed 'N Wax on your shelf. Wondering what would've happened if you lightly buffed the beryl drawer sections before adding the hardware?
The wood is already coated with a heavy duty sealer so the feed n wax wouldn’t be able to absorb.
Do you save the trim pieces to potentially use in a future project? I agree with the dust catching thought, but at the same time, they could be so pretty on just the right piece!!
I have a pretty good collection of "spare parts" that I've removed from furniture.
@@salvagedbykscott I bet!!! My problem would be remembering what I have....and where I'd hid it!!! 🙂
♥️♥️♥️
Really pretty. Did you score the frog tape that you put over the burled wood? It seems like if I use the blue tape and don’t take it off right away it peels so badly. I guess is frog tape worth the extra money?
Frog Tape is worth every penny!!! There is absolutely no substitute.
