Oh my gosh....it catches ones breath..... Incredible idea Angie. You never disappoint. ...thank you so much for the beauty you have created for us. ❤❤❤
@TranscendFurnitureGallery I have an intact bedframe with a bookcase headboard which was my grandparents' bedframe and they had put speakers into the doors.
If I walked into your room with the nice fireplace, I would NEVER guess the surround had a former life! It's a totally successful repurpose project. Beautifully and tastefully done. Hope you enjoy it. You're the BEST!
This really brings back memories. We never lived in a house with a fireplace, so for Christmas my Mum would remove the free-standing (no rails) bookcase headboard from one of the bedrooms and turn it into an ersatz fireplace for the "Rumpus Room". Since the headboard was returned to the bedroom after Christmas she did her transformation with brick patterned paper, a long board for a mantle shelf and the 1950's electric fireplace (the kind with red light bulbs and a little fans that to make the light flicker) that had traveled with us from house to house. A nice memory for Mother's Day. Thank you.
I'm so glad that nobody else wanted the headboard. It was waiting for YOU to come up with an idea to create something out of it. I'm guessing that about 60%+ of the furniture in your home is one of a kind. I love it, Angie! 🤟 Thanks! 👍
One of the reasons I love your channel is how you don't give up on making a piece the most beautiful it can be. Your eye for detail gives your pieces so much elegance. I have said before, your videos are educational in the art of woodworking and restoring. It would be a privilege to have one of your furniture restorations in my home.❤ You're an artist Angie😊
After your comment about pressed wood I'm starting to change my mind about it. I still heavily prefer solid wood but I now realize it's about understanding the purpose and using the right techniques to refinish them. 6:30
I used to feel the same way, but once I learned to veneer and laminate, I fully embraced high-quality plywoods and MDF. For some purposes, pressed wood is simply better. For instance, real wood is not as good as MDF for speaker cabinets.
I can’t emphasize enough, how happy and also relaxing it is to see your new video, Angie. For me it is late Sunday evening, right before the start of the new working week, and your videos help me relax and prep for a good night sleep. Writing this before even finishing the video, I know that the final result is going to be beautiful! Seeing a wreck being put back to life produces some kind of special furniture seratonin, I guess 😊
I couldn't agree more with @manolaisvalaikis1185. Seeing how you redesign and repurpose different pieces is an exploration into creativity. I watch a TFG video before I go to sleep each night. Very soothing and a nice dose of positive energy. Thank you for all the effort and time you put into sharing your passion.
Love this quote from R. Buckminster Fuller. I live in a geodesic dome home which was designed by him. In the 1960s my husband met him after he gave a lecture to one one of his college classes. Great designer.
You could never talk “too much” in a video, what you say is always interesting. You are the first maker I have heard explain the actual point of dedicated pocket hole screws, for instance
Yes I agree with someone’s comment. You were meant to have this headboard to remake into something absolutely incredible. Gosh you really never disappoint Angie. You are so talented and really do have a great imagination for recreating something new from trash. Love your message of inspiration too. Be well and thank you for this amazing content that you work so hard at putting out for us fans ❤
So cool!! We donated our son’s old bookshelf headboard to a local furniture flipper, who turned it into a mobile bar for a local restaurant!! Every time we go into town for an event, we always seek them out and tell the story again. You’re so creative and it looks just so good. Well done!!!
Great idea. And it was a super item to begin with had you elected to use it as a headboard. I'm 75 yo and love watching you young ladies repurpose real wood furniture. You all are so handy with tools, not just paint or varnish. I hope other young homemakers are watching and learning.
We are building a new/garage shop - Angie's videos are my tutorials for starting to do my own projects (in a couple of months).... love these videos so much! Signed a girl who used to only work on spreadsheets... ;-)
Wish I had the headboard myself! Saw some on line under $200 and will get one soon. Bookcase headboards are where the cats sleep if it’s too warm to snuggle in bed! 🐱
Multiple project self - I wish I lived close to you so I could have purchased the headboard off of you. And it would still be collecting dust. RUclips watching self - Thanks for sharing such an amazing repurpose. Cheers to your relaxation room.
This truly fits your remit-keeping items out of landfill. Couldn't give it away, seemed destined for the dump. Instead, you repurposed it beautifully. I think your artistic background helped with the idea and your refinishing skill brought it to fruition. You should look at this with great pride. The final product looks like it was always meant to be this way. Congratulations!
This brought back memories. My sister and I shared a bed like this. You had an excellent idea! What an amazing piece you made from this old headboard!!
That is absolutely beautiful. Love the black with the wood. And that little pop of color is great. Never been disappointed with any of your transformations!!!
I really don’t know why I am surprised every time when you make over a piece that looks like crap and suddenly it’s unbelievably beautiful. I’m flabbergasted again!! Spectacular! Can’t believe how very wonderful this turned out.
Of course I made it all the way through. No one in their right mind would miss your handy work. Great way to save this poor lost useful piece of beauty!
You continue to amaze me with your vision and artistry. This turned out gorgeous! It’s so funny because I have one of these bookshelves headboards sitting in my storage unit. It belonged to my grandparents and I can’t make myself give it up. So, it sits, waiting for inspiration to strike. I’m also so excited because that Odie’s walnut stain is exactly the color I need for a piece I’m redoing.
amazing transformation as usual. Who’d a thunk an ugly old headboard and an electric fireplace could turn into a thing of beauty,. Love the “field guide to lucid dreaming” book too.😊
Angie...O M G!!! This is absolutely breathtaking, your talent never ceases to amaze and so appreciate you sharing it with us. This might be one of my all time favorite pieces. ♥♥♥
That’s why you kept the ‘peace’ so long; long enough to realize it was yours as a new project. Looks great. I’ve two of those drop in heater fireplaces and I just thank myself yearly for the indulgence.
I love this idea! I have a very similar headboard that got painted white. Not sure what's under that paint but the rails are long since broken and I think the footboard is MIA. I really like this idea of repurposing it into a fireplace. You're such a clever girl!
What a beautiful cat ledge! I'm sure your furs will agree this is a perfect elevated place to lounge. Classy and practical, and toasty warm. Just don't put anything breakable on top...
Wow! You made it look as if it was meant to be a fireplace. I never would have guessed it was made from an old discarded headboard. It's so chic and smart looking. Kudos!
Wow, wow, wow Angie!!! I don't just "Like" it, I "LOVE" it!!! What a fantastic use for that headboard! I'm blown away every time you create something. Who would have thought you could turn this into that!!! I would love to make one of these. Bravo Angie!!!!! ❤💜❌⭕
Your creativity to give this piece no one wanted both continued use and a new purpose is genius! Love the insert fabric. Would love to see the whole room once it's complete.
Absolutely gorgeous transformation! Love the fabric inserts, and that lovely warm walnut color is perfect with the black and the fireplace insert. Excellent work as always, Angie!
You would think after watching you make magic for years that I wouldn't be in awe anymore but here we are. You took trash and created something so beautiful and unique. I can't wait to see it in your new space!
It is a beautiful transformation! Another ugly duckling to swan masterpiece! I can imagine the comfort of sitting in front of that roaring fire on a cold and snowy Canadian winter day, perfect! 👌👌👌
I hope you have many years of sitting close by and gazing into that fireplace and letting things drift. I thank you for the video and allowing us to decompress to your incredible talent.
Oh Angie this is stunning. To be able to look at something that has literally no value & turn it into something that is not only beautiful but functional is amazing. You are a joy to watch ❤
This is an amazing up cycle of something that would’ve ended up in the trash. It looks so elegant. A much richer looking electric fireplace than the kind you buy for decor.
What the?????😳 Holy crap Angie- what an absolutely beautiful makeover!! So thoroughly enjoyed this video. I loved the chatting! Thank u so much for sharing another wonderful example of your art🥰
That turned out really nice, Angie. Creative genius at work again. Your room looks so nice and cozy. I could relax in a place like that. Thanks for treating us to another amazing make-something-out-of-nothing. Bless you and be healthy. Love, Dave and Amy🏆

You should do more of these. That was an unexpected project. I love it
Thanks so much for watching!
Yes she could sell these!

And she’s got such cool tools! That circular saw reminds me of one I had some 40 years ago - not “small”; but just the right size for me!

Angie, it seems that everything you do is golden. Fabulous!

Well, I feel relaxed just looking at it! You did a great job, as always. For some reason, I can imagine a sweet kitty curled up in each side!!! 😺
Oh I think they'll really enjoy the fireplace. 😊

A fire surround from a headboard. How clever. And it turned out lovely.

I love your brain. No stalker, just appreciative fan. Thanks for sharing.❤
You are so welcome! 😊
One of those long linear fireplaces would be beautiful.
Having the right tools, a space and time is awesome. You are great at this.
That headboard was in my grandparent's bedroom. The little tables with legs spread to the sides. Anthurium plant on one of them. Orange curtains with those brown circles on them. I believe the same floof orange blanket on the foot end. We sleep under eiderdowns as it can get bloody cold here. You made it a modern statement. Love, love it. A bit of memory lane there
What a great idea!! I bet these old type headboards will be snatched up from curbs everywhere now!!
I hope so!! Thank you so much for watching! 😊
Honest to God you're the wood whisperer. Literally anything turns out gorgeous with your touch!
Awe, thank you! 😊
I would never have guessed this was ever a headboard. Phenomenal job.
Thank you so much! 😊
