Your furniture flips prove that this is just as much if not more about artistry than about a process.

I thought I liked the metal. Wow! Your vision to remove made them so much better! Love the beachy look for these.

I was on board with the lightening up of the color, kind of disappointed you took the metal pieces off because I liked those. When you said you were going to add faux wood grain, I though, "Oh, no! That's going to look so cheap." Boy, was I WRONG! All of your design decisions were spot on. These end tables turned out beautifully. I'm amazed at your vision and talent.

I never, NEVER like faux graining……. but Katie, you’ve become great at the technique and have changed my mind! What a great job at making these into lovely, contemporary pieces. And, while I’m at it, can I just say “THANK YOU” for the easy narration you do. I don’t care how great some content is, if the narration is sing-song or just phoned in….I cannot watch! Thanks for talking to us like a friend or neighbor. Love your work!!! I’m a fan 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Great idea to remove the metal pieces. I am so impressed at how you can imagine a new look for these outdated pieces and then make the vision come through! Lovely as usual!

I was feeling uneasy about the metal gothic arch but they did make them heavier and harder to fit in any decor. This will fit more easily.

Another fabulous flip. When you first mentioned the wood look for the top I thought "oh no, they already look so nice with the wonderful smooth paint finish." But seeing the finished product, I love it. These two tables would be priced for top dollar at places like Ballard Designs--you worked your magic with two dreary thrifted pieces made of MDF at a fraction of the cost. Beautiful transformation. Love the paint color especially!

Oh, how I wish I'd had access to these incredible vids 30 years ago, when I was "rescuing" old furniture for my own home. Your ideas and executions are fabulous -- and a BIG hug of gratitude for telling viewers why and how you do what you do to make the magic happen!
Most of us had to learn this art entirely on our own -- with a little help from the guys at the hardware store who may or may not agree with our goals.
When I began my adventures in restoration I didn't know what laminate was and literally destroyed what may have been a semi-valuable piece of furniture (still cringing over that disaster). I'm now motivated to redo some of the mistakes I've been living with, and will refinish the pieces in your honor... AND buy needed products using your recommendations!

    WOW! 😱
Entirely different style than originally. Not just “updated,” but CREATED! Your “noodling around” to clean out old supplies brought out your Mama Bear Creativity, if I’m allowed to say so! Protect your visionary ideas and continue to grow and teach your impressive skills, please! I’m totally intimidated by “graining tools,” but you dug one out, gave it a good “look-see” and started putting it to work! My dad was a carpenter and built my childhood house around us--he was no fancy guy, but I remember how thrilled he was when he took on the task of making a small book/whatnot wall shelf and mastered the are of Pickled wood painting. I’d not seen it again until recently with all the renovated & reclaimed furniture projects! Gives me a huge smile, on my face & deep in my heart! If they’re interested, please later teach your children…😁🥰

I like the subtle effect of the layered neutrals and would love to see more like this. We see a lot of beautiful repair and paint work out here on YT, and we also see some artists who really knock it out of the park with blending and large decoupage effects, but I think we're missing something in between and this is it.

you do great work! I often wonder why people who restore furniture don't use a large raised surface such as an 8 x4 ft particle board covered with/ drywall on a couple pairs of sawhorses. boy, I used to do things like you do and it was much nicer having everything up where I could manage & see much easier! more comfort, less work, and so much more energy going along! that wood is heavy! easy on the legs as well! you can quickly lean the complete set-up aside - propped against an interior wall in less than 8 minutes - safe and sound til next time! you have the knack! Cheers and Best to you! 🐦
