Love seeing more people reacting to Gavin (Miracle of Sound). He has such a wide range of genre of songs he does. Would love to see more reactions to his songs. Gavin also does all the vocals, instruments and arraigning unless he mentions otherwise in his songs, he also has some amazing collabs.
Miracle of Sound wrote this.❤ Payton is perfect as a Viking, he puts everything into it. The collaborations are awesome. I’ve listened to so many here on RUclips.
Payton has said before when he sings he can't help himself, he moves his body to the music organically. So the way he moves in this song is his natural interpretation of Viking war music
I second this! He's amazing. Honestly, I'd love to see them bring Gavin (Miracle of Sound) himself in for a collab, too! They're both outstanding vocalists and I think they'd be fire mixed in with the Bass Gang. ❤️
YES , we here in the nordic countrys are listening to a lot of metal , per capita we have the stronges metalcommunity and metalbands in the world. Greetings from nwAse Sweden
I, as an American, must say that I am highly impressed and truly love the Swedish metal of Sabaton!! My son introduced me to Sabaton a couple years ago and I've loved them ever since. They are more than just a band; they are entertainers. In fact I will be seeing them live for the first time in about a month at the beginning of May. Much love to you from the US.
Gavin (Miracle of Sound) is amazing. The Tale of Cu Chulainn of one of my favorites. It's also my autistic son's favorite. It's one of the few songs that can help pull him out of a melt down and calm him down.
Thank you so much for your reaction to Miracle of Sound's song! I have been listening to his music for years, and I am always happy to see other people reacting to his songs. However one of the sad things about this song is that due to the virality (is that the word?) of the song, mostly through TikTok, many people don't know that he was the one who wrote, composed and produced it. He has written a lot of songs which are usually inspired by video games, but he writes other pieces as well. ✨ I am pretty sure that the one who sang the throat singing part in this song (Valhalla Calling) was Miracle of Sound, because it is also in the original version. Some of my favourite songs by Miracle of Sound are "Soul of Sand", "When Honor Dies" and "Ode to Fury". I would recommend giving "Soul of Sand" a listen! It is inspired by Dune and it features two female artists, Sharm and Sheyma Rochdi, and there is also some throat singing going on (this also probably Miracle of Sound). All around a pretty cool song! 😄 Link to "Soul of Sand": ruclips.net/video/6p3whOC06lA/видео.html
Gavin (Miracle of Sound) is a tenor and Peyton is a baritone, so when singing together, Peyton is doing the lower notes. In the version with Eric Halloway, Eric is doing the basso profundo notes.
9:44 Miracle of Sound is the original artist, this version is a collaboration that came later. Miracle of Sound has done a ton of music inspired by video games, including games like Mass Effect, Skyrim, Diablo, Elden Ring, Subnautica: Below Zero, Red Dead Redemption and many more. He also has a lot of music inspired by other stuff like TV shows, classical folk tales and more.
Hi Peter. No doubt this has been said elsewhere in the comments but here goes..... Gavin (Miracle of Sound) wrote the original and has 4 or 5 variants on his channel, including the duet with Peyton and a trio with Peyton and Eric Holloway. RUclips is littered with versions of it now by many different people - and apparently a lot of people never credit Gavin as the writer. 😠 You mentioned Jonathan Young in the video - he has done a version of it and it's probably my favourite. VoicePlay have also done a version. JY has also done several numbers with Peyton - I think there are 2 on JY's channel and 2 on PP's channel. One of those is another Viking themed song, "Drengr of Ragnarok" - well worth a listen if you like the Viking theme. As for getting PP to collaborate with The Bass Gang - definitely! That would be great - as would another collaboration with JY. 👍😊
The nice thing about different artists doing the same songs is that each does it their own way. And that doesn't mean one is necessarily "better" than another. They're just different and often equally as good as one another. Definitely love the way they get into character and into the music while singing. The whole body movements, the grit... it makes for a powerful performance.
I’ve been dying to hear you talk about Peyton’s singing, how he gets that much grit into it without hurting his voice (or does he)? Those bass notes are also in Gavin’s (aka Miracle of Sound) solo version, so I’m guessing it’s Gavin or someone he brought in. This piece is amazing-SO many versions out there, and different styles (Voiceplay) and they’re all awesome. Gavin deserves a thousand alehorns. There’s also a version of this duet, but adding Eric Hollaway-you can imagine. Peyton definitely gets a workout when he performs. LOL. There’s a version of Misty Mountains Cold with Peyton, Jonathan Young, and Colm McGuinness, if you really want to hear Peyton with Jonathan (and Colm). Yes, yes, yes, to a collab with Peyton. Also maybe you guys should reach out to Gavin and see if he has a song in the works that could use some BASS. Yes, I’m rambling-commenting as I listen. Amazing reaction-thanks so much!!
It would be worth hunting up Miracle of Sound's release of this, since he's the one who wrote it. Then listen again to Voiceplay's version and you realize Geoff is the war horn. :)
I have been listening to Miracle of Sound for years now, while I don't get why this song of his was the one that exploded, I am glad it did. Gavin is very talented and deserves the attention, and as a Dane, any Viking stuff that becomes popular is something I support
So, this really is just such an epic song. If there is a song that makes you feel like you're ready to go on raids, pillaging the monasteries of England, this is it. That's one of the things I really love about Assassin's Creed Valhalla is getting to see the creation of the Danelaw in England (which is a country that I have very close ties to since my father is from there). Very powerful game, and... maaaaaaybe worth livestreaming? (hint, hint) Either way, you should really do more of Peyton's videos. No joke, one of my favorites of his is actually Can You Feel The Love Tonight, where you get to hear more of his soulful quality. Either way, I am convinced that he is a barbarian who multi-classed into bard. He's amazing to listen to.
I always learn something with your analysis! You always seem to hear things that my ears doesn't. Love your voice and great appreciation for your work. 👌👌👌😊
Always enjoy your analysis of vocal techniques ❤ and on Peyton’s channel is Valhalla ( Viking Chant ) one year ago - showcasing his voice, and “For the King “ this is a good one to analyze different depths to his voice - excellent variety to his talents on For the King
Valhalla calling me is pure power to me. I am a viking! I am a swede and my bloodline came from England 233 years ago. England have a history with vikings to so I am a proud viking!
I found Peyton Parrish thanks to Voice Play's My Mother Told Me, Peyton has the song in Old Norse, you should check it out. It's amazing. Also For Honor and Drengr Of Ragnarok by Peyton Parish featuring Jonathan Young. Thanks for the reaction!!
I started watching your videos during the summer and it's really cool to see your evolution. I can tell you that in this video you were very expressive and the excitement that this style of singing gives you is awesome. You seem a lot more comfortable in your reactions (at least that's how I got it). Anyway just thought of giving feedback, love the video!🙌
I find it funny you said something about Jonathan Young. Him and Peyton did a cover of Misty Mountains also featuring Colm. Peyton has also featured on a couple of Jonathan's sea shanty videos.
Other Peyton Parrish songs that highly deserve analysis are God of War (with Saltatio Morits) and Master of War, and his Hoist the Colours Cover. He has a whole Disney Cover album littered with amazing options as well
Peyton also just recently did a collab with German band Saltatio Mortis, called "God of War", wonder if you'd enjoy that as much as I hope you do this 🥰
I highly recommend giving Peyton's songs a listen. Whether as a series of reaction/analysis videos or simply to listen to in your spare time. I recommend looking at his recently released Disney album. Especially, "Be Prepared". He goes absolutely bonkers with the grit, growls, overdarkened tones, and had thrown in some deathcore(?) Harsh vocals as well. The song that introduced me to Peyton was his original song, "Ragnarok". Most of Peyton's songs are originals that he has written and produced himself with an accompanying band as well. I believe he is either on tour or is finishing up a tour in Europe right now. Gavin has done several collabs with Maluka in the past pertaining to fan-made Skyrim songs such "Tales of the Frost" and I believe "Sovngarde Song" as well. He's also create a LOT of original songs for the Assassin's Creed series besides AC: Valhalla and the Witcher 3 with "Wake the White Wolf". He's also collabed with Karliene on a few occasions with his AC: Odyssey song "My Odyssey" and one of Game of Thrones fan songs "Only Us" which is a song about Cersei and Jaime's relationship prior to him losing his sword hand. As well as quite a few with Sharm as well. Sharm is famous for her World of Warcraft and Diablo fan songs. Which is I also recommend giving a listen 😊. A few of my favorite songs from that set of collabs is "Moonlight Blue", "Mother of Flame" (A tribute to Daenerys), and definitely Soul of Sand (A tribute to the newest Dune movie with Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet). All of Gavin's songs are written, produced, and sang by him. Making them originals in their right and he's been creating content since 2011 I believe when Skyrim first came out. Thank you so much for giving this song a listen Peter!! And I'm definitely interested to see if you and the rest of the Bass Gang are able to collab with Peyton in the nearby future 😁👍!
@@Moribax85 that you did! I love how they extended the Valhalla song. I haven't yet figured out how to loop a song on Spotify, like I can on YT, so what a joyful surprise to see it multiply for me. Single, duet, three,

I’m somewhat familiar with Peyton. In some of his other work it definitely sounds like he uses a version of throat bass, and he does it extremely well. His track “For Honor” shows it off very well and was the track that introduced me to him. Highly recommend checking it out (on here or on your own time) because the sound is so unique. Ironically enough, watching some of Paytons vids, his speaking voice is somewhere between a Baraton and a Bass. But his singing voice can be either baraton or bass, which is incredible to hear a singer who can hit multiple tones at once.
Payton has several viking songs that are bad ass and several Disney goes rock covers I would recommend as well. My maternal grandfather was from Sweden so this stirs my viking blood. Makes me want to grab my war axe and start destroying my enemies lol.
The original version with Miracle of Sound was excellent but this duet version with Peyton Parrish brought this song to legendary status, right where it belongs.
Excellent reaction and analysis. I find it interesting how so much music from video games is better than the music created by mainstream artists with their three minute formula sound. You might find Saltatio Mortis interesting. I would recommend either "My Mother Told Me" or "Pray to the Hunter."

3:57 if you want high and gritty, check out some Beast In Black. Motherfucker has one of the highest voices a man in metal has ever had let alone music in general that I know of
Awesome! Love you checking this out! I suggest you check out "God of War" by Saltatio Mortis feat. Payton Parrish, there you can get a taste of some of Paytons more bassy qualities!
I may be mistaken, but this might qualify as a shanty. As you mentioned, it doesn't really change, it repeats. I could see it being used to time a task
for best understand where singing Miracle of Sound and where Peyton Parrish you shoyld watch this song on Miracle of Sound channel. Because Peyton cut video part with Miracle and leave only himself. At the same time at Miracle of Sound version you can see where is Peyton singing and where Miracle of where they together
I guess my original comment either was deleted or i made a mistake and didn't actually sent it, but like i said before, love the song, found it originally on Miracle of Sound's Instagram, it was a lighter version compared to this one, they had female singer Serena Belle to make a beautiful contrast\balance with the other three male singers
It's interesting how people get attracted by things that are alien for them. I do like vocals like this, but I practically grew with music of this kind, rock, metal and viking as well (because I was early medieval reenactor for many years). So gritty voices like this are just too common for me so probably that's why my greatest fascination is a polar opposite. I always loved clean, even operatic voices in this kind of music genres, because they would stand out much more.
If you ever get a chance you should find some of the covers done with Miracle of sound. There’s a great a-cappella one done by Voiceplay that is nice and gritty.
Just saw this and now I'm wondering how would viewing of the Valhalla Calling (Trio Version) Miracle Of Sound, Eric Hollaway, Peyton Parrish-version go...
There is also a trio version with Eric Hollaway on the bass. Sick af! 🔥
I was about to recommend that. The trio version is my absolute favorite ❤
Eric is Da Man!

3:57 if you want high and gritty, check out some Beast In Black. Motherfucker has one of the highest voices a man in metal has ever had let alone music in general that I know of
Wait til you hear the version with Eric Holloway. Its got 10 million views in 10 months.
You said you were practicing the Joker voice. Could you be thinking of tackling Miracle of Sound's Joker Song?
Voiceplay do an epic cover of this too...but i just love Payton as a viking ❤
Being 50% Norg I loved this song
Johnathan young has a cover of Valhalla calling with Payton pasrish and Colem McGinness
Awesome! Love you checking this out!
I suggest you check out "God of War" by Saltatio Mortis feat. Payton Parrish, there you can get a taste of some of Paytons more bassy qualities!
Would love to hear you break down Elvira by The Oakridge Boys, Shinedown’s cover of Simple Man, or anything Linkin Park.
True Grit coming soon 😏
Truly fascinating
Just saw this and now I'm wondering how would viewing of the Valhalla Calling (Trio Version) Miracle Of Sound, Eric Hollaway, Peyton Parrish-version go...
As an American Swede, Celt/Scott, this just speaks to my soul!
Yes, please get Peyton for a Bass Gang collab.
The only person I know can do grit with a high voice is Eli Jacobson...
Yes please try and snag Peyton as you did a fantastic job with Tim Foust
