It's Dan's versatility that makes him stand out from the rest. He can sing everything from opera, musicals, pop, ballads, folk, gospel, rock to all kinds of metal (soft, hard, power, death etc) and he does it better than most.
He is classically trained and has worked as a voice coach. If anything can be sung, Dan can sing it.

Dan Vasc is the TOTAL PACKAGE!!! He's got the beautiful hair, dreamy eyes, handsome all over & with that absolutely gorgeous talented range in his wonderful voice! This man knows how to give me chills all over! I FELT every word & emotion of this song. I love how absolutely tender, raw & delicate he started the song even with the slight echo & with each verse exposing more talent & intensity. Dan Vasc has a God given talent that he has perfected over years of hard work into what it is today, devine & magnificent!!! He sang this song the way it was MEANT to be sung with such RESPECT, emotion & with a POWERFUL impact. I FELT the presence of GOD!!! This is the absolute very BEST version of 'Amazing Grace' that I've EVER heard in my ENTIRE life & I'm old (LOL). God BLESS Dan Vasc for sharing his wonderful talent & this video with the world! FINALLY!!!!!! I have been checking closely and waiting for you to analyze Dan's voice. So interesting to hear pros point out different techniques and they are always impressed with him. So now that we know YOU love the Sound Of Metal screams, you must start to explore those with your deep voice. I look forward to hearing THAT! I also am excited for you to react to so many of his genres of music, particularly his Operatic selections of course. Welcome to DanLand! And enjoy the wild ride he takes you on.......🎡🎢🚀⚡🔥😨🙃

Dan also DOES do a "Sound of Silence" cover, modeled on the Disturbed version. I think you would really like it.
I agreed with everything you mentioned in this evaluation. I have to say, though, "You ain't seen nuthin' yet!"
He has been classically trained (most of which he's done himself), plus he TEACHES, but, yes, he obviously knows what suits him the best, and he makes good use of that knowledge.
You hear him keep that last breath going, in this one, for 25 seconds. I've carefully timed it. He takes a full inward breath just as he starts the final, "...I see," and then he holds that, even while sliding into the, "AHA!" until that final chin vibrato and still-rock-steady tone, that just...ends.
I was a little surprised that you didn't notice his very-expressive eye motions, that tell a good part of the story and testimonial journey that he "explains" as he goes. When his voice was more soft and tender, his eyes were glancing around, and also had a bit of a "startled doe" look (which, believe me, is NOT usually Dan). Once he started solidifying, and his chin came up, and the nasality started slowly to disappear, he was still looking around. Then came the harmonica (can you say, "bagpipes?"). You talked right through the Celtic drumbeat that was backing up the harmonica (don't worry--you're not the only one who has done so). I'm sure you've already read about him learning to play harmonica when his dad gave him his first one somewhere between the age of 7 and 13. Both he and his brother Davi (wait 'til you learn more about HIM) started playing harmonica as well as many more instruments, way back then. Their mother was (still is, as far as I know) a singer, and their dad (of Italian lineage, which makes English Dan's & Davi's third language--Brazilian-Portuguese, Italian, and English) was (he passed away about seven years ago) a musician.
So...at the end of the harmonica interlude, when he swings up into the next range after also swinging the hair and setting his shoulders more solidly, and he goes into the "...10,000 years..." part, he begins to get his eyes closed down tightly. From that point on, he no longer glances around, and he only opens them for less than a second. With that change, he demonstrates very well, that no longer is he relying on his physical/worldly sight. Instead, he illustrates that he "gets it!" Even, all the way to the very end, he never again opens his eyes, which adds a TON of both emotional and spiritual power to the vocal power, if you are looking at what he is "saying" by his actions (and Dan ALWAYS adds those types of hints...you'll get used to it).
I would love, before you react to anything other Dan music, to see what you think about his one-man choir (24 voices) "Handel's Hallelujah [Choir], from The Messiah." (He calls it his "journey into insanity.) After that, you might want to watch & listen to both of his last year's Christmas offerings. With all three of those, you will start to see some different aspects of Dan's artistry. After that, I would HIGHLY suggest that you check out his stupendous version of "Black Wind, Fire, and Steel," which he does as a very-well-deserved tribute (and challenge) to metal guitarist Luis Mariutti (also Brazilian). When you do, be sure you watch carefully to the very end (I wouldn't do a ton of stopping and starting on that one, if I were you). It's fairly short, and it's important to catch every nuance. In fact, you might want to get the lyrics before you listen, if you don't already know them. They are just as important to the performance, as everything else. They give you a VERY good picture of what Dan is "all about." When the stupendous ending begins to happen, do NOT pause until...well...you'll know when you get there. After the "fade-to-black" happens, also, PLEASE be sure to stay in the video until you've heard the actual tribute that he gives to Luis, and why. All of Dan's outros are VERY important, if there is one (with Amazing Grace, there wasn't, but that's not the rule--at least with most of the older videos).
OK...I'm done. I'm a (nearly-74-year-old) musician and singer, myself, but I'm also a writer (as well as a RUclipsr with two channels...the other one is ...Gone Gaming). It's hard for me to stop once I get going. Thank you again for the great reaction. 😀

Dan has been my favourite singer since I first heard his 2020 cover of The Sound of Silence on 9/15/20(he also did a cover of it in 2016). Since then, I've listened to absolutely everything on his channel, and I love them all. He can sing absolutely anything, from Nessun Dorma to Bohemian Rhapsody to Loch Lomond to Handel's Hallelujah (all by himself!) to metal by Angra, Sabaton to Manowar to Helloween and more. He even does an EPIC version of our National Anthem and his original song, All Hail Friday Night Tights for the show of the same name on Nerdrotics channel and original songs with his band Fearless. I'll watch any Dan reactions you do, but I'd love to see reactions to Fairy Tale, Carry On (Angra's version, the tribute to Andre Matos), all of the DragonForce covers, Dawn of Victory, and Beyond Belief, as well as his Christmas covers. Keep them coming!🤘🤘🤘

Thank you so much for this, Peter--you know how often I've begged and badgered you to analyze Dan Vasc's covers. For sheer entertainment, try out his cover of Boston's More Than a Feeling--wow, the range is breathtaking. His rendition of I'll Make a Man out of You is iconic and brought Dan to world attention. For pure metal headbanging with some amazing twists, I'd love to get your take on Bring Me to Life (your metal envy will skyrocket!). As for Gethsemane, Ted Neeley sings the song like it was written just for him, but Dan really brings the drama and power. Dan's cover of Africa he says is one of his favorites. He sings Michael Bolton's ballad Go the Distance with very little grit, but it's gorgeous and charming, and the video snippets of his journey from a musical teenager (with crazy energy) to the present (5 years ago, when his cover was posted on RUclips) is deliciously endearing. You have such a great ride ahead with Dan!

Handel's Hallelujah is otherworldly, both in vocal techniques and in video editing, as Dan electronically clones himself to become the entire choir. Also, Dan is a gamer of some renoun, and he has some really popular covers from the Witcher series, and other D & D style epics. Then there are the showtunes...Let's face it, he has a Vasc catalogue, with no clunkers I've found yet.

Thanks for the reaction to Dan Vasc 👍. There are so many, actually all (cover) songs that Dan has done better or rather taken to the next level. E.g. by Lady Gaga "Poker Face" or the Witcher series "Burn Butcher Burn" or a little shallower by Ed Sheeran "I See Fire" or, or, or 😉. He also has his own band "Fearless" the album is called - Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom - just great ❤️

So glad you reacted to Dan - he is amazing. He took lessons, then taught for a while. He's being doing RUclips videos for over a decade and you can see how he's progressed as you go through them. He explained in one of his early videos that he sings each song a minimum of 3 times for different camera angles, and does his own mixing and all the background vocals. His dad gave him a harmonica when Dan was 7 (his dad passed away several years ago from cancer). Dan puts his soul into every performance. He has quite a variety - so good... Check out his Gethsemane - amazing performance. So many good ones - Bring Me to Life, Burn Butcher Burn, I'll Make a Man Out of You, Handel's Messiah, so many more. Enjoy!
