Nessun Dorma shows his classical training. Bring Me to Life has his entire tool box thrown in to awesome effect! Love Dan Vasc. Thank you for the education!
Dan Vasc's success reflects his hard work, dedication and passion for his craft. This boy is a true combination of talent, hard work and determination!!!! It will literally be the song you sing and pull you into your world. Dan's music absolutely blew me away. He seems to have a very good head on his shoulders and a wonderful sense of humor. A special young man with a special wonderful voice. Many are surprised by the fandom of the older age group. I'll just quietly note that I used to listen to metal music when He was just a pleasant thought for his mother. I love what you do and how you do it! I respect him for that!!!!
Learned a lot from you on this reaction, so Thank You! I first heard this about a year ago and had no knowledge about The Witcher. This song still blows me away every time. I think you would enjoy Dan's Hallelujah Chorus and his Bohemian Rhapsody where you get to hear his entire voice range!! Great commentary today Peter !!! 😲☺
I enjoyed your reaction. If you want to hear Dan sing in his lowest range, check out The Rains of Castamere. I have heard it many times and I'm still surprised at how low he can sing when he chooses.
I love all the vocal techniques you discuss! I would love you to react to Dan’s “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera. It’s totally opposite of this song and, to me, his voice is absolutely stunning in it, along with the expression of his face, hands, etc. It’s another song where he becomes what he is singing and draws us all into that place with him. I hope a lot of people request “Music of the Night”.
That defeated feeling that you’re referring to at the end of the song is a direct reflection of the scene when this song is sung. The bard is all intense and then at the very end of the song, he just sits down fully defeated… heartbroken to some degree.
I liked you descriptions of what Dan was doing with his voice.Dan said once that he spent 2 years training his jaw to do that. It must be important to his technique.
I’m so glad you’re paying more attention to Dan. I appreciate and enjoy your knowledgeable comments. Dan is certainly a very expressive and theatrical guy. I hope you will consider reacting to the Gethsemane scene from Jesus Christ Superstar, and The Music of the Night. And I think you might be surprised by Dan’s baritone range. Have a look at his cover of Adele’s Rolling in the Deep, for instance. Or My Mother Told Me. Thank you!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have watched a bazillion reactions to this song (I love watching people react to Dan!), and not a single person has mentioned how he does the ending of this song. The ending is beautiful and brilliant and perfect emotion, and I am so glad that someone brought it up. You saw it, you felt it, and you mentioned it, so thank you. Also, I can’t wait to see you react to Mulan, there are multiple surprises for you in that one! Hope you do his Mulan cover soon! You’re awesome! Oh, and he also sings Nessun Dorma, so…….yeah.
It was great to see your analysis of Dan Vasc and this one was wonderful. Thanks so much. There are two songs I would like for you to add to your list, please. Dan's cover of I'll Make a Man Out of You from the Disney movie Mulan it one. He has some surprise cameos that you will recognize and, according to Dan, he hits his highest note at the end. The other one is a cover of Evanescence's Bring Me to Life, in which he displays his other metal skills and sings both the male and female parts. I always look forward to your reactions and will be here for them.
I don't know how many times I have watched this masterpiece by Dan Vasc . His over the top voice, going from high pitch scream to a deep tone and ending with a soft whisper! It's so impressiv! Thank you for your reaction! 😊
It's great to see your reaction to this extraordinary and unique vocalist, Dan Vasc!!! He is a musical chameleon, he can sing several musical styles 🎶🎵 in the same song. Dan is also very theatrical, a great actor. I love how he uses his excellent vocal techniques. Everything he sets out to do, he does with excellence. Dan did an excellent job, brilliantly done... epic ✨️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💥🔥💪. Thank you very much, your analysis is top notch ;)
I would see that interview with Dan! I hope you can make it happen! Your take on breaking down Dan's vocal skills has been informative. Keep them rolling with more Dan!
Thanks for your R/A on this song. I agree that Dan’s performance is often musical theatreesque. I’ve noticed the jaw movement in other songs, but never heard the term jawbrato…makes sense. Others have suggested Rains of Castamere and I second that suggestion.
Really enjoyed your analysis. So glad you did this one. Dan has a vocal range of four octaves, so just because you haven't heard him go low, doesn't mean he can't.
I have absolutely NO DOUBT that If you reached out to DAN to collaborate on a song, he would say Yes!! As you can surmise, Dan loves to challenge himself and I remember you saying something to the effect that you'd love to sing metal.
Someone asked Dan recently about collabs and he said no. He said they are a pain to do. Edit: Some of his collabs are on other singers channels. I don’t think he has any desire to do anymore at this point.
An insanely beautiful voice colored with metallic tones and falsetto. Abundant acting and theatrical abilities all under an umbrella of physical beauty. Really enjoyed your amazing analysis, Peter Barber and look forward to more.
Hi!! I watch a lot of your reaction videos and I truly think you're one of the best reactors who actually teach some musical terms to your viewers while still being genuine about the reaction!! TYSM FOR THESE VIDEOS
If you want to hear Dan's low, dark voice try his cover of Fairytale by Shaman and I recommend the original by Shaman, their lead singer Andre Matos also has an amazing voice.
Respect begins with a kind word. I really enjoyed the reaction. And yes, the song wrapped in metal with this incredible voice... It doesn't get any better than that ♥️. All of his cover songs are spectacular. I'm looking forward to the next Dan Vasc reaction. Subscribe ♥️🤘
Awesome! Great reaction to this! I love watching your analysis! :) You should do Priscilla's song (Metal Version) next! I do agree with others about the Rains of Castermere, and would also second the comment about Bring me to life. I would also suggest Blcak Wind fire and Steel, as well as Fairy Tale. Excited to see you do an interview with Dan! Here's hoping you get that sorted soon! :)
I've been listening to Dan Vasc for a few years now and I am always smiling in the end of such massive talent. I also enjoy your analysis, so thank you for making these videos. I also enjoy The Bass Gang!
Now you have to do Priscilla Song (metal version) and Song of the White Wolf to finish out the Witcher songs. I highly recommend Gethsemane and Make a Man Out of You for theatrical options. Also, for low tones I would recommend My Mother Told Me and Fairy Tale. For metal screams and growls I would recommend Bring Me To Life. One of my favorites is Son of Pain. Actually I could go on and on. So many incredible ones to look at. Love your Dan reactions! Can’t wait for the next one!
Another great review Peter! I have enjoyed many reviews of this particular work (obviously a Dan Vasc favorite) and you always offer new observances. First time i have heard the term "jawbrato", and explaining the harsh vocals, I'm always learning new things here. Appreciated, along with your editor, thanks!
Thank you for your reaction to Dan. You said that Dan could not go to a lower register. You might change your mind if you hear his cover of The Rains of Castamere. I was really surprised by how low he got. Thanks again, looking forward to next one!
Metal singer here. Two notes here. Those high notes don't have to be in falsetto. You can achieve them with curbing and guessing he's doing that here because of the intensity. The other one is what you called the jawbrado. He's is intentionally controlling the rhythm of the the vibrato which is something you can't do if you let it happen naturally. It's something you hear a lot in metal. Usually controlled with the diaphram.
@@PeterBarber.. Thank you for your detailed analysis ,Because I cannot sing I find the technical analysis fascinating. You also have a lovely singing voice voice.
i enjoyed your reaction.and comments how you think Dan achieves his results. I like that you were smiling and enjoying the show. When Dan is performing some songs, he is is both Epic and fun. We all leave happy and feeling strong.
❤love this video... He is so cotton pickin' great. Thank you for your reaction. He really does Perform his music... Makes us feel it... His voice, face, body, hands, all help him tell the story of the song.
I really enjoy your videos ( especially on Dan). Having said that, I also have since found your bass singing groups and really have enjoyed the music and performances.
Your analyzes are wonderful, thank you. My favorite song by Dan is Gethsemane and about his performance with very high notes you can check it out in Wuthering Heights (Kate Busch)
I enjoyed your reaction and analysis. I like what you have dine to your voice in this reaction. It softer and les baritone power. It is easier fir me to listen. The other seemed to hurt my ears. I think this my 2nd time watching this video today. It us fun to know what techniques Dan is using ti get the particular sounds..
Dan is phenomenal ❤ I love pretty much everything he covers! Dan could sing the phone book and it would still be beyond! Tommy Johannson is also another amazing metal singer who has an awesome vocal capability for other genres.
Evanescence is known for Amy’s insane range, some good ones that showcase that are Whisper 2001), My Heart Is Broken 2011), sweet sacrifice (2007), hi-lo ft Lindsey Stirling 2015(?), use my voice (2020) are good ones for comparison

Singing and voice acting - Dan’s Gethsemane !
100% agree!!!
Was going to suggest the same. 😊
YES! Beat me to it!
Yup!
I totally agree he should do Gethsemane next. Or his Handel's Messiah (one man choir) 🎤🎧😎
His Version of "I'll make a man out of you" (Mulan) is absolute bliss imho - absolute recommendation
One of my faves, and I love the cameos by Jonathan Young and the others. I would love to see his reaction to it.
Hello, you can hear his low voice on " Fairy Tale" cover, very beautiful song and beautiful interpretation from Dan
Nessun Dorma shows his classical training. Bring Me to Life has his entire tool box thrown in to awesome effect! Love Dan Vasc. Thank you for the education!
After seeing this, his version of Gethsemane, and his Music of the Night, it is obvious that Dan is a performer at heart, not simply a singer.
Dan Vasc's success reflects his hard work, dedication and passion for his craft.
This boy is a true combination of talent, hard work and determination!!!!

Really enjoy your review of Dan.

Dan is such a brilliant, versatile singer. A lot of work , dedication talent goes into his covers.
