When you talked about the way that he started singing Amazing grace, I think that you might have been trying to say that the style he was singing Amazing grace at the beginning, would be the word reserved.
Dan is classically trained and also gave vocal training lessons. Henceforth he knows how to look after his voice. This man is so versatile and sings from all genres. Check out Nessun Dorma, Gethsemane and Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera. He also has a super 80's playlist. His metal screams are out of this world. Glad you enjoyed it and looking forward to more reactions 🥰
Hearing Dan speak in interviews and definitely being a natural baritone, hearing him belt way above most tenors is jaw dropping. Lots of baritones exist in the metal world, who can belt into tenor territory... but not a flipping F5 with that much power. The only other baritone I can think of who can do this is Axl Rose... and I prefer Dan's clarity.
I so enjoy watching people who know about music and vocalization speak about this rendition! I just enjoy amazing music and I heard it and appreciate every single moment but to hear ppl who KNOW music praise Dan makes me so happy! He is incredibly talented!
My dad was Welsh. He loved to sing. He always told us growing up this was to be one of the songs at his funeral. When he died last year, this was the version he wanted in his will. Everyone loved it so much 🙂
Dan knows what he is doing with his voice. He is a vocal coach. He said he warms up his voice the day before he records and then doesn’t speak, at all, for the next 24 hrs. His range is unbelievable, he can sing anything. In Black Wind Fire and Steel, he holds the last note for 30 sec. He is amazing.
I see from the comments that you have been filled in about Dan's education. He was also a vocal coach at one point. Ive watched several Dan Vasc reaction videos and I have to say that you have the knowledge to perfectly explain and demonstrate in such a lovely way. Your students are very blessed.
I really really really hope that after taping this reaction , you sat on your hands, closed your eyes and listened to Dan perform this song from start to finish to truely appreciate the power of his delivery. If you didn't ,well darlin, you cheated yourself!!!
I've been waiting for you to do this reaction on this gentleman. His performance just blows me away & wait until you see some of this other performances. He's just unbelievable. Thanks for the reaction Jen. Keep up the great work. It's always a pleasure to watch you.
Jen, thank you for reviewing Dan's take on "Amazing Grace". I enjoyed Dan's performance and I was very curious to hear what you had to say. For me you are one of best at what you do. I am amazed with all the little details you pick out. Often I can't hear them even after you point them out. I just enjoy good singing even without knowing why. Thanks again for your detailed analysis. 😊
Oh, how I enjoyed your reaction/analysis to this beautiful hymn sung by a man who has brought a new life to it. I love listening to amazing vocal coaches who not only appreciate Dan's skills with his vocal instrument but also are able to tell so many of us what he's doing with those skills. I can't get enough of Dan Vasc's music. I'm sure you've read through all of the other comments and realized there's a very deep Dan Vasc rabbit hole that you can go into and be there for a very long time searching through the covers that he's done, as well as the original music that he and his band, Fearless, have done. This amazing man from Brazil has won the respect and hearts of people around the world.
Thanks for your wonderful reaction. Regarding Dan, I am a fan of his male versions of female singers, where his range shows off. welcome to the rabbit hole of Dan Vasc!!!
LOL at your reply, his voice is addictive. But,hey, I can’t deny his face is another reason for me to watch his videos. He feels what he sings. Have you seen and heard “Gethsemane” sorry if I didn’t spell it correctly.
Well, you said it best: Welcome down the rabbit hole of Dan Vasc. I am in it. Thank you for your information. Dan deserves all this attention. He has worked very hard.
Wait until you hear him singing Gethsemane. Seriously, Jen, you’re in for a treat! I’m so glad you got to this-been waiting for someone who knows voice to check it out.
I thoroughly enjoyed your in depth review. This has become my favorite version of Amazing Grace and as you mentioned, he takes us on a journey with the song and each verse. It is so full of surprises and builds up so perfectly to a crescendo at the end. If you are looking for more of his songs to review, I like many of his covers (especially Journey songs), but really enjoy two duets he does. The first is "Kiss From a Rose" with Violet Orlandi, and the other is "Time to Say Goodbye" with Rehn Stillnight.
For me one of the best metal singers. His interpretations of Gethsemane Jesus Christ Superstar and Nesum Dorma are outstanding. The entire Witcher series and its Disney covers are out of this world. The selection of songs is huge. He's a really great artist. He puts his own stamp on every song, many cover songs are even better than the originals. With his band "Fearless" he put together an album - Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom - . And he sang the song "Cancion Del Pirata" in Spanish by Dark Moor. He does all the filming, editing and lighting himself. ❤️🤟. Thanks for the reaction and here's to more 💞
@@karenmurphy6028 That’s interesting. Where does that information come from? I've heard him say he’s working on writing it, but not that it has been produced as yet.
@@auntiethetical There's a video posted by the studio engineer putting the final polish on the recordings which he said was actually pretty much a completed master and required very little action on his part since Dan does virtually everything himself. I tried to locate that video before responding but have been unsuccessful so far and didn't want to keep you waiting for a response. I'll keep looking. 🙁
I absolutely LOVE Dan's interpretation of this classic and beloved hymn!! He's got so much vocal and breath control! IMHO, he's the best tenor out there right now! The harmonica really gets me, too because my precious Granny played it beautifully. As I grew up we'd gather around the piano as a family, I'd play (and sing alto or 2nd soprano) and she'd play harmonica, while the rest of the family joined in. Priceless memories! I truly believe that all of Heaven stopped to listen when Dan sung this! God put him here to give people hope during these tumultuous times when there is so much fear, hatred, and despair in the world. Thank you for your opinion on this! The Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera and Burn Butcher Burn are two of my favorites and they are completely different. One classical/theatrical and one all out METAL! Love Dan Vasc, thank you for reacting to this video!
I l9ove hearing what trained vocal coaches have to say about Dan's voice. I know that it blows me away by what he does with it and I know that he has range and breath control but don't know how he does it.
I knew you would enjoy this.😊 It is quite a journey, building as it goes. Dan does so much in this song that it really gave you so much to break down. Great job! Love this. ❤
I realize that you are going to comment on the artist's technique but on this song I wonder if you could possibly sit off camera & just watch & listen to this video once again & just absorb the message, the words, the emotion of this song. Dan Vasc has got beautiful hair, dreamy eyes. He's handsome all over with an angelic voice & he knows how to give my whole body chills all over. He's the TOTAL package!!! I love how absolutely tender, raw & delicate he started the song even with the slight echo & with each verse exposing more talent & intensity. Dan Vasc has a God given talent that he has perfected over years of hard work into what it is today, devine & magnificent!!! He sang this song the way it was MEANT to be sung with such RESPECT, emotion & with a POWERFUL impact. I FELT the presence of GOD!!! This is the absolute very BEST version of 'Amazing Grace' that I've EVER heard in my ENTIRE life & I'm old (LOL). God BLESS Dan Vasc for sharing his wonderful talent & this video with the world! This is something the entire world could use more of if they only would do just that... use & show God's Amazing Grace! 💕🎶✝️🎶💕
Dan is a wonder. His Bring me back to Life, Sound of Silence, My Mother Told Me and Break the Silence are not to be believed as well as I'll Make a Man Out of You. His American Trilogy is awesome too. My granddaughter loves his Toss a Coin to your Witcher.
He's Brazilian, and English is not his first language, but only a few subtle things even hint at that. The harmonica was a gift from his late father. He released this for Easter - if you'd like to see what he can do with a Christmas carol, you should check out his version of "Angels We Have Heard On High" (rendered in several different languages, no less). Great reaction, thank you!
Dan is amazing! Another one of his favorites among the reacting community is his version of I'll make a man out of you from Mulan. I think youd absolutely LOVE that one 😉💜💜
👏👏👏👏👏 Thanks for this one Jen. 🤗 I am slowly working through Dan's catalogue. I'm taking it slow as I don't want it to end.😁😁 I love everything I have heard from this young man. His Evanescent cover of Bring me to Life absolutely had my jaw on the floor. Fantastic analysis of the many colors of Dan's vocals. Peace and love to you.
I'll Make a Man Out of You (epic), Scarborough Fair (mesmerizing), Angels We Have Heard on High (stunning and in 4 languages), Music of the Night (theater worthy). He can sing anything, in almost any style.
I love this analysis. I'm an instrumentalist, not a vocalist, and I found your commentary fascinating. I was going to make some other recommendations of Dan's works, but I see you have plenty of those in the comments already. I'll just point out that his "Nessun Dorma" is straight opera, so you can hear how he does that style, and his "Bring Me to Life" has just about every metal vocal technique there is, which gives you a good view of his skill. He covers just about everything on his channel, from acoustic ballads to show tunes, but his true love is metal and he performs plenty of it. You can hear his natural speaking voice (including his accent) at the end of many of his earlier videos, in case you're curious about that.
I loved your in depth analysis! Dan is unbelievable. For operatic Dan, check out his Nessun Dorma. For Broadway Dan, check out one of his Phantom of the Opera covers, Disney Dan, check out I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan. He has Journey and Bon Jovi covers. He has many pure metal covers like The Last Stand from Sabaton or Black Wind Fire and Steel where he BELTS his last note for over 30 seconds. You can't go wrong. I've just subscribed to you and hope you will do more reactions to Dan.
He is phenomenal and I am so glad more people are following him. As a theatre person, his Gethsemane is top 3 ever for me. And I also highly recommend Make A Man Out Of You from Milan because who doesn’t love that song?
Great detailed appreciation and analysis! My favorites include I’ll Make a Man Out of You from Disney’s Mulan. But take your pick from his channel- they are all delightful and varied.Enjoy!
Nice reaction! One point, though - Dan is Brazilian, and português is his first language, so there's definitely an accent in his voice. More Dan reactions por favor!
His nessun dorma. Phantom covers esp music of the night. Kiss from a rose. His evanescence covers. His bon jovi covers. DAN IS amazing. You wont be sorry
I cannot even guess how many times I have watched this video. My favorite reactions are by those who, like you, have never heard of him before. Even professionals like you, cannot help but show surprise and awe at Dan. For me, I feel he is a one-in-a-zillion talent. So excited to enjoy watching you as you explore each, completely unique, video he creates with his infinite skills, expressive characters, and dynamic performance mastery. He is, quite simply, THE BEST!! Hang on tight- you are in for the ride of your life. Enjoy every bit of it. 😊
With his own words, he is very passionate about The Witcher franchise and he made cover songs for "Toss a Coin to your Witcher" and "Burn butcher, burn". You would like to watch those as well. 😊 Thank you, Jen
He says sings opera as well and he taught singing lessons there in a so much to listen and to be amazed by him you need to go down the Dan Vasc rabbit hole everything he sings turns to gold it will be worth your time to check out pick any song of his and you won’t be disappointed and by the way great reaction

Welcome to Vasc Nation. You've only begun the journey, which will take you as far as you want to go....from Nessum Dorma to the Hallejah Chorus, to Burn Butcher Burn and male covers of female vocalists. Ask for Vasc!
I rarely get gripped if ever by Metal but THIS gave me a lump & a tear with the sheer Depth and conviction that he delivered such a beautiful gospel treasure 😌! BRAVO SIR JUST BRAVO🙌👍!
Dig in deeper into Dan. He's an absolutely incredible talent. And he offers up a little bit of everything style wise along with always giving a 100% performance. There's a fantastic rabbit hole to get into when you want to analyze style and vocals. One of my personal favorites is "I'll Make a Man out of You" a heavy metal Mulan cover.
I love vocal coach reactions to Dan the most . Dan is a vocal coach as well 😂😂 I wonder what he thinks of vocal coach reactions. He has been a guest on a podcast I listened to recently. He’s brilliant in so many ways. Thankyou so much . He did sing a bit high and clear in the second verse. He is also a metal singer as well. 😅Not everyone can sing vibrato. Have you listened to Angelina. Loads of Vibrato . Why do you feel it’s not necessary. It’s just beautiful
Jen, go check out his version of The Last Goodbye from The Hobbit Battle of the Five Armies. It is so beyond beautiful. Absolutely love your reactions. Thank you for making me smile.
He does a wonderful cover of "Dream On" by Aerosmith. He has no problem with the scream at the end. You did a fantastic job of reacting and analyzing this song. It's the best version I have ever heard.
Dan is AMAZEBALLS!!!! Check him out singing "The Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera. I think you'll be surprised!!!! Now check out Steelheart. Their lead singer is amazing!!!!! He sings that high, doesn't scream. Check them out!!!!! 27:13
I heard that he got this harmonica from his father when he was still a child. ❤ He is brazilian and has trained very hard to reach perfection. He is very talented. An incredible voice.
You need to react to Dan's Bring Me To Life if you really want to hear his full range of his talent. Better than the original. There's a good reason why he starts low at first because he builds it up till the end to his actual strength. The 2nd verse, higher pitch is his normal range & talking voice. I love Dan!!!!❤
You might also enjoy both of his covers of Beauty and the Beast and I'll Make A Man Out Of You. Both are incredible covers. Also Dan has had some Opera training so he has great contols of his voice as well as a dynamic range.
I so enjoyed your reaction! I grinned so big when your hands began fluttering in excitement at “when we’ve been here 10,000 years”… 😃. How anyone hearing this could remain unmoved is so beyond me. It’s my opinion that Dan purposely added specific accompaniments to the harmonica to mimic the feeling of bagpipes which is somewhat synonymous with Amazing Grace. 😊 I search channels to find reactions to Dan’s Amazing Grace in the hopes of finding joy. I did. Thank you for a beautiful and delightfully informative reaction. Subbing your channel. ❤
As a person that grew up in the 70's & early 80's, I used to listen to different kinds of music, although I listened to ACDC, Deff Leopard and such singers, I wasn't a big fan of growling, as we called it, but since hearing Disturbed and especially Dan Vasc, I started to appreciate the talent these artists have. I now going through their lists, as far as Dan is concerned. Opera - Nessum Dorma. Stage - any of the Phantom of the opera. Pop/rock metal - 80's covers. Lighter side - I'll make a man out of you, Wuthering heights. Female covers - any of them, even does Adelle and Lady Gagga. Collaberation - Kiss from a rose and others as well. Full range is Bring me to life (brilliant). One man chorus - Bohemian Rhapsody, Hallelujah (Choir). Viking songs and Witcher series also good. Personally I listen to this song, kiss from a rose, bring me to life, northwest passage, Loch Lomond, Hallelujah (with Caleb Hyles) and my immortal almost every day. Opened my horizons they did.
I really enjoy watching vocal coaches reacting to this. Ignore the folks who are complaining that you are talking too much - they can go watch the reactors who sit there and say not much more than "wow".
More Dan reactions please!!!!!!!!!!!! So many treasures to discover - from Disney (Mulan) to musical theatre (Phantom) to opera Nessum Dorma! Thanks for your reactions - so knowledgeable and detailed !
This is my third vocal Coach video on Van singing this song. Halfway though he just blows them away with his range and control. You can’t notice he’s from Brazil 😊
I absolutely love watching these Vocal Coaches react to this. Dan's amazing and this one video puts him straight out there. I still remember the first time listening to him. He's an amazing guy too.
His performance in Gethsemane from Jesus Christ superstar is phenomenal and Nessum Dorma is outstanding. His I'll make a man out of you from the Disney movie Mulan is equally fantastic as are his metal songs.
Thank you for watching! I love the journey we went on with this! Make sure to check out my Patreon if you enjoyed - www.patreon.com/jenniferglatzhofer

Really? It was given to him as a child. How’s that? Why nitpick? Pathetic….

Oooh interesting!
My favorite too!
I too have watched many reaction videos. I must have listened to this song 100 times. Wish they would react to some others.

Wow! What a wonderful breakdown of what Dan was doing with his vocals! Thank you, subbed!
Me too! New sub because of this video.💞
Jen, you need to listen to more of Dan's music. He'll amaze you ❤.
With his own words, he is very passionate about The Witcher franchise and he made cover songs for "Toss a Coin to your Witcher" and "Burn butcher, burn". You would like to watch those as well. 😊 Thank you, Jen

Dan is awesome. He does an amazing cover of music of the night which shows his classical voice. It is absolutely amazing to.
I love Dan he surprises you coaches all the time.
I see in the comments that others have mentioned it, but I suggest Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera since you are in theatre.
Great reaction!
His covers of "I'll make a man outta you", "Music of the night" or "My immortal" are great! Please listen to them 🙂

Welcome to Vasc Nation. You've only begun the journey, which will take you as far as you want to go....from Nessum Dorma to the Hallejah Chorus, to Burn Butcher Burn and male covers of female vocalists. Ask for Vasc!
Great technical and emotional reaction - thank you! :)
I rarely get gripped if ever by Metal but THIS gave me a lump & a tear with the sheer Depth and conviction that he delivered such a beautiful gospel treasure 😌!
BRAVO SIR JUST BRAVO🙌👍!
Awesome
I love Dan. He is one of the most talented vocalists I’ve heard.
Yes!
Oh is he really? How cool.
He is a most amazing singer. Multi talented.
He's really amazing. If you wanna go Disney x Rock, listen to his "I'll make a man out of you" from Mulan (I'm not sure about the title).
YES! I'll Make a Man Out of You. (Includes a sweet surprise)
Jen, go check out his version of The Last Goodbye from The Hobbit Battle of the Five Armies. It is so beyond beautiful. Absolutely love your reactions. Thank you for making me smile.
Hi Jennifer hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Love your analysis! Dan Vantastic…amazing.
He does scream....no quality just screech, prefer Guns and Roses.....after Dan.
I've got to say what an incredible dissection of an incredible performance .. 🤩
:) That rendition can't be denied!!!! Be Safe
Dan Vasc and Gabriel Henrique, 2 monsters from Brazil
Certíssimo, amo demais esses dois talentos e tenho muito orgulho!👍🇧🇷
I love hearing him sing this
I heard that he got this harmonica from his father when he was still a child. ❤ He is brazilian and has trained very hard to reach perfection. He is very talented. An incredible voice.
Hi, Jen! Tks for your reactions and support to DV! 👏👏👏🇧🇷❤
Awsome😁😁
You need to react to Dan's Bring Me To Life if you really want to hear his full range of his talent. Better than the original. There's a good reason why he starts low at first because he builds it up till the end to his actual strength. The 2nd verse, higher pitch is his normal range & talking voice. I love Dan!!!!❤
Dang! I don’t know how I missed this when you posted it! Dan is amazing!
Ur reaction to wretch vocal was priceless
🙃
Couldn't wait for this reaction!!!
You might also enjoy both of his covers of Beauty and the Beast and I'll Make A Man Out Of You. Both are incredible covers.
Also Dan has had some Opera training so he has great contols of his voice as well as a dynamic range.
I scrolled by this several times and finally watched him and so glad I did!
You should listen to Time to say Goodbye sung by Dan Vasc and Rehn Stillnight
It's been 3 months since watching this & I'm still mezmerized enough to post yet again. Thank you Jen!!
Such a wonderful reaction to watch! Thank you Jennifer!
Need more Dan vasc reaction plz
