@Porter Daniels. Porter, the tip of the red w/white strip wire had the corroded end where that group of wires plugs into the bottom of the TIPM. I mean that's what it sounded like. I've heard that before as well. I'm not sure why it's usually just that one wire, when there's literally a couple hundred wires that plug into the TIPM. This salty crap from the winters cause that to happen. Chrysler defiantly didn't produce these Jeep Patriots to last more than 7 to 8 years.... Just buy new but then someone who can't afford a new vehicle ends up going broke from trying to keep them maintained... THe 1993 Jeep Cherokee I bought from Colorado Springs will outlast this Patriot I bought..

I have the same problem with my Jeep Compass 2007 model, 4wd always display in the dash board, is that possible that the same trouble?

@Porter Daniels. Okay, I deleted my comments. You're not giving enough details in the video. Before I continue, all I'll say is this. The 4WD! warning light doesn't come on until I've driven pass the 1 mile mark & like clockwork, 1.0, 1.2 to 1.4 miles & bam, that warning light comes on. The only time that light turned off while I was driving was after I hit a deep pothole. Then it came on.
Now here's what I mean about not enough detail in your video. **At about 40 seconds, you said, ''I checked the plugs, all the way back and all the way forward.''** What plugs and where are these plugs at.... **Then at about 3:05, you said, ''I traced it back and ya know that when copper begins to corrode, you get that green funk, now I saw that on both tips.'' Then you were talking about the tips and went on to say that you spiced the wire back together.
So instead of me going into details on my Patriot and some of the issues I solved, Where are ''Both Tips'' located at, which you mentioned and also where did you spice the ''Red w/ White Stripe'' wire at where you made the repair. Earlier when I mentioned about when I hit a pothole, the 4WD! light went out. Well perhaps if you can let me know where the bad spot was on that Red w/White Striped Wire on your Patriot, where you made the splice at, I'll start right there because unless my issue is being caused by a bad relay inside the TIPM, it could be a common issue where that wire corroded up then broke there...
I've already fixed a few bad grounds on the vehicle and since I cleared out all the stored fault codes on my Patriot, so it's running great now. So I believe I'm close to finding an issue like you were having and I believe you had said that your Patriot was fixed right after you connected those wires together. Thanks in advance, Dan....

@@user-xg2nf7du5g The Patriot is parked... There's so many new things wrong with it, I'm just gonna let it go and mark it up as the worse investment for a vehicle I ever made, and just call it that... Thanks for asking though...
