No fluff, no bragging on her part, she just beat him down like a rented mule. This anime is such a treat. I love it so hard.
She bragged a little by not striking the head in her first shot.
Nah, she wanted to ridicule him a little, otherwise she would have gone for decapitation first. Same with Qual. Could has killed him with the binding spell on. However, took the spell off and killed him with a more advanced version of his own attack. So he could realize how much of a relic of the past he was.
That said, she _did_ give him enough time to attempt begging for his life lol.

Macht is a demon that will appear later on. He's a demon that truly wants to understand and coexist with humanity. But his demonic nature prevents him from doing so.

Frieren:
a) doesnt use her arms to hold off the wire
b) doesnt have trouble breathing or speaking, is visibly calm even with the wire around her neck
c) so it's logical to assume she can use her arms freely and easily
dude: yeah my victory is so certain, i won't try to bind her arms and i'm even gonna turn my back to her because she obviously can do nothing
killing a regular demon makes the world safer

That's the difference between Qual and a fool like him. Qual at least attempted to play around how magic works in the modern day with old techniques, even figuring out a critical weakness on sight.
Had Qual lived, he might've become a demon lord at that kind of genius level.
@@Not_interestEd- Didn't just figure out the weakness, he copied the spell well enough on sight to make a small single cell barrier. Had he been aware his own spell was going to get used against him he might have managed to block it.
If you watch Frieren fight she always look like she is in control whole time. Her fights are not flashy, she uses just enough of power to win. She never goes for overkill. That all makes sense. She has over 1000 years of expirience.
"I'm afraid you don't have any hands anymore. Here. Catch mine."
So to recap, he fully turned his back on his opponent while she was freely able to talk despite the wire around her neck, and both her arms were unrestrained. It’s Frieren, so she was gonna win anyway, but the demon basically handed her victory.
And that’s why she said he’s hopeless, even though she hates all demons, I bet she was still disappointed that he couldn’t be smarter or put up more of a fight.
Frieren was likely in a foul mood after sitting in that dungeon. So when that insolent young demon started mouthing off at her, she took it out on him, lopping off his arms, pinning him down, and blowing his head off while he begged, like a BOSS.
Little did he know she hates all demons with all her existence. Her goal is to wipe them off the face of the earth. That bro was just a convenient punching bag to relieve the stress. For her it was like smooshing an annoying fly
This feels like the fantasy equivalent of pulling a knife on a veteran Green Beret in a dark alley. Ain't no way that was ever going to go well for the guy

No, this is more like pulling a rusty screwdriver on someone, only for them to take their hood off and reveal they are actually Vegeta.
this is like a lone imp rolling up on doom guy with a bfg and 600 ammo.
And yet she also falls for every mimic chest she encounters, always thinking there's a slim chance that the mimic detection spell might be wrong.
I suspect that by now she has gone diving into the mimics so many times that she has a spell to explode them from the inside, allowing her to help herself to the treasures of other adventurers they have eaten before rescuing herself easily. Otherwise how would Freiren have survived all those years alone.
To be fair, a lot of games have mimics holding really good loot, so if you're feeling confident it can be worth it to check/fight them anyway.

Blowing mimics from the inside is the actual method Frieren uses to escape from them when she's alone, however it really messes her hair up.
@@bananawithaknife So much so that sometimes when she goes out without Fern, fern is confused why her hair is all frizzy when she comes back.
Well think of it this way shes over 1000 years old and is bound to have found several hundred mimics in her life time. So even with a 99% success rate on her spell after a few hundred mimics she is bound to have found something at some point
When she said she couldn’t do anything about the wire, years of consuming media signals she is being calm and specific about the wire for a very good reason
After all, she never said she couldn't do anything about the *source* of the wire.

This guy really thought he could outwit someone as ice cold as Frieren.
To explain this in nowadays terms:
It's like pitting a seasoned war hero against someone whose only battle scars come from marathon gaming sessions in their mom's room.
And whose physical scars come from marathon SOMETHING ELSE sessions in their own room.
I love that his last act was to use whatever words he could to try and extend his life just that much further. Exactly as expected from a demon in the show.
Normally you wont think that a mage would be so quick on their feet, but freiren got that super quick reflexes. I would go as far as to say thta she must also be real good in close quarter combat
Frieren didnt survive the demon lord by being a standard caster. Who knows how many people have gone close thinking shes useless at close range.
This is another scene in the long lineage of "I'm a genius!.... OH NO!"

Dang, our Anya (Frieren bc same VA) went to Doom Slayer Mode.
I figured Frieren could have taken him out when he first opened the cell door before he could have even reacted, but she wanted to see what he was going to do. She then took the time to analyze the demon wire while it was around her neck to see how the spell worked. Then she decided playtime was over...
demon magic is far too complex to be able to analyze so quickly aside from demons probably the only one who could do it was serie and no i will not tell you who that is only that they are FAR more powerful than frieren.
@@dawnseeker176 Sure, she may not have a full analysis of the spell, but an up close inspection certainly adds to the knowledge base.
@@Genthar she didn't even try to analyze it. there was no point in trying to do so. she was in a life threatening situation so she took the quickest route to victory.
