Just subscribed yesterday, I was born in the 90's and have always been a huge transformers fan, this is my first time seeing most of these G1 figures and they're really cool !
Thank you so much Dennis. The G1s may not have the possibility of today's modern figures but the gimmicks and toys do stand the test of time. Some gimmicks have yet to be improved upon.
I wish I grew up during the 80's because these seem like a lot of fun! Keep up the good work man, I've been binge watching your channel and i love how you go into the lore of each figure.
This is a really cool looking bot. I have seen him atleast 3 timed at our local state fair but did not pick up as well was looking for other things then. Think old GI Joe and comics back then. Was a nice price too. Wish I snagged now. Great review once again! Also did not know that was a redo of Getaway in Titans Return.
Getaway? Yeah, get away from me. Getaway was a real piece of work in the new idw comics. A real back stabbing fiend. Ether way tho, this was a great video review. Fantastic work
@@PatriotPrimeReviews Slal 1968 is definitely right, you're better off not bothering with them at this point. They've SJW'd and otherwise screwed stuff up SO MUCH now, it'll just disgust you for having wasted your money on their $#!t, once you start reading it. THIS is THAT moment to heed the old saying, "Ignorance is bliss", and just remain WELL uninformed on those annoying details.
Shane Hai well...I wouldn’t just go out and start screeching SJW and what not, there are still some interesting things in the idw series that I like a lot. But hey, let’s agree to disagree, or something along those lines
Excellent review, brother! Never had any of these Powermaster guys back in the day, although I have been enjoying the modern updates (to the Headmasters/Targetmasters/Powermasters) quite a bit, so far. Speaking of which, nice cameo by my slightly customized Breakaway in the comparison section! I was kind of wondering if you'd take the opportunity to utilize him in there. Nicely done. (Looking forward to your review on him too.) Getaway was definitely one of the nicer looking G1 Powermaster figures, especially in bot mode, but not bad in vehicle mode either though. If I were looking to add any of these guys in, it'd be him and the Dreadwing duo, to go with my PMOP. Another fine job and a very fun and informative review. I like the way you've recounted their combined history via the Marvel Comics series, in each video with these guys. I think it gives them more coherency as a group when watching them. Good stuff!
Awesome review as always brother Really enjoyed watching. I did not have these as a kid since I was not interested in Transformers anymore. But great to see these get some love. Take care buddy. Roy
To the staff at RUclips, I am a regular RUclips user and have been for XX years. I am also an adult collector of pop culture memorabilia, and that includes TOYS. Your recent announcement that you would be treating all toy channels as kid-targeted channels and all toy content viewers AS CHILDREN is very troubling to me. This decision does not display accurate knowledge of this landscape and could result in the alienation of a large group of RUclips users, both content creators and viewers. Many toy channels are for the benefit of adult collectors and do not target children with their content or commentary. While they may not be inappropriate for children to view, they do not cater to children and do not speak to children's interests in their videos. A few of these channels include RetroBlasting, XXXX, XXXX, and many more. These are just examples. These channels speak to ME: An adult that has an interest in the popular culture of the PAST, and the rare vintage toys and premium modern toys aimed at adult buyers related to these old properties. Using “toys” as a benchmark to identify kid-targeted content is a gross miscalculation and a massive overreach in today's retail landscape. This isn't 1989. It's 2019. Toys are catering more and more to adults rather than children in many genres. Additionally, using the measure of “characters and themes” is also potentially damaging to the RUclips platform. For example, a RUclipsr might be making a video about vintage Spider-Man comics that dealt with drug addiction, but your benchmark wrongfully pegs it as kid's entertainment because Spider-Man is the main topic. Or, a RUclipsr might be devoted to Star Wars movie news, a topic of great interest to adult movie fans. However, if Star Wars is defined in your new system as for kids and kids only, it takes a VERY BROAD TOPIC and artificially narrows it to a tiny wedge that does not reflect the many actual audiences of Star Wars, destroying many successful channels devoted to Star Wars movie news. RUclips appears to be trying to simplify something that is not simple in the slightest, and in doing it this way, you could easily destroy hundreds of channels and send hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of subscribers off the platform and into the arms of competitors like Twitch and Vimeo. As a RUclips user, this is deeply concerning to me and I hope you will reconsider how you will go about identifying the offending channels that have put your platform in this mess. Many channels have never participated in shadow marketing, have never courted the attention of underage users to sell them products, and have always aimed their content at adult viewers of RUclips. Do not make these channels collateral damage in your effort to rein in the few channels that have acted in mercenary ways with kids. Do not kill channels simply because they discuss toys or pop culture. Find a more discerning way to exercise your oversight. Thank you for reading this message.
Very well said. I'm hoping my Channel and many others will be spared since we're not "Big Fish" or that maybe YT can come up with something else. I appreciate your comment and your views. Hooah!!!!!!!
Now this guy in Masterforce was pretty much my favorite next to Ginrai and I was so happy to both of them in Titans Return.
Whenever I read his dialogue in MTMTE I hear David Tennant.
Nice. Probably one of my favourite g1 transformer ever

This is the best character of the three Autobot Powermasters. I just love a good Houdini-bot. :D
Getaway was awesome sauce. the only autobot car powermaster that I had as a kid.
Lucky
Personally I preferred Prime, Dreadwind and Darkwing. But Getaway was a very awesome figure.

Also did not know that was a redo of Getaway in Titans Return.
Only bots I ever see at the Fair are very odd & cheap KOs.
Thanks for watching JL.
Been excited to see your take on this guy. He's my favorite.

Yet another example of why IDW is NOT worth my time, and no longer gets my money.
I need to get back into IDW, I quit reading when their first series wrapped up right before it branched into two different series.
Well...I don’t think y’all would be to interested in the new stuff. Stick with g1 for now I suppose. Oh, and screw idw star saber, he’s a real ass

Getaway also has an animated speaking role in the Quickswitch commercial.
Ahhh. You are right.
I even used that ad in my Quickswitch Review. Thanks.
Yet again another childhood favorite. Thank you very much for that comic book backstory. Also thank you for the trip down memory lane😊
Чуть не пустил слезу! Это любимая игрушка моего детства. Мне её купили на день рождения примерно в 1995-м)

Since LEGACY is giving us Targetmasters, it would be nice to get the Powermasters too.

The hard part was telling the same story so many different times to keep it fresh.
Definitely my favourite of the Autobot Powermasters as well. Love the car mode and he’s phenomenal in robot mode.
2:45: He didn’t ’Getaway’ this time…
