Windcharger wasn't my first transformer toy but he is the only one that I have fond memory of. The first series I watched was G1 (despite it being 2011), it was there on that day the first transformers episode I had ever watched was A Prime Problem, where Windcharger was featured saving Optimus Prime from his evil clone.
G1 Gears was my first-ever Transformer as a little kid back in the eighties. A friend of mine got me the reissue recently as a birthday present, and it was an instant flashback.
I hope we get deluxe class figures of Brawn, Windcharger, and Gears to go with the deluxe figures of Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, and Huffer. :D Thank you for sharing this Patriot Prime. :D Keep on being amazing.
Windcharger was my first transformer. He's a Camero by the way. I will say the mini cars were durable little buggers. Windcharger lasted 25 years without break or complaint. When Walmart sold reissues of these guys I check stores in three states to find them. (It sounds epic, but I was visiting family in LA and Las Vegas and went on the hunt when I could.) My nostalgic memory; grabbing Windcharger and watching Knight Rider doing Turbo boosts off the couch arm.

Man I will say when I look at those huge, bulky, chrome, arms it's easy to see how they got the name "Brawn" lol My fav would probably be Huffer or Cliffjumper. Love their alt modes! Such a great video idea, thanks for those memories. As a kid I had Brawn, Huffer and Red Bumblebee (didn't he later got identify as Bumper, I can't recall). Had lots of fun with these guys. Today I have Cliffjumper, Bumblebee and the Walmart reissue Bumblebee, which is my first transformer that my wife got me before I actually collected. Great review sir, Hooah!
PPP You bring back so much memories with the minibots. There were cheap and easily accessible. Looking at Bumblebee awww man I think about me and my cousin when those were the only transformers we had.
My favorite original minibot is gears idk why it was one of my first bots when I started collecting. Love the g1 reviews and hopefully you can do series 2 minibots soon. Glad you and Dylan had a good time at the con .
I had so many minibots as a kid, stereotypically I think the first two minibots I ever remembering buying were Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. I think it was the G2 reissues but I did find older ones at yardsales and stuff. I always loved Beachcomber the most though.
One thing I didn't notice until I bought the Goldbug Throttlebot was they used the original Bumblebee head sculpt for the animation and comics character model. Now that's all I think about when I see an original G1 Bumblebee Back in the day I didn't have any of the Minibots. I think the first TF's I bought were the Constructicons and Aerialbots then Soundwave. I got an Optimus Prime through the robot points mail in deal, but I was so excited I forgot to cut out the robot points and just sent payment. They still sent him without any mention of the robot points

Bumper was yellow when he was sold in Cliffjumpers package but in Japan there is a Red Version and in Brazil he came in other colors so if you want to know more there is a video by Chris Mcfeely who did the basics on Bumper
Cliffjumper is the best of the six in my opinion because he is very close to his cartoon appearance. Never had him as a kid but I bought one a few weeks ago for my vintage G1 collection and he was not the cheapest one. It costs me a fortune to get one in good condition.
Of the original 6 (plus Bumblejumper), I know 5 of their vehicle modes. ▪︎ Bumblebee is a Penny Racer version of a Volkswagen Beetle. (I've been saying a 1974 Super Beetle/1303S, since that's the model used for Goldbug.) ▪︎ Cliffjumper is a Penny Racer version of a Porsche 924 Turbo. (Hubcap is the same car, with a realistically sized spoiler.) ▪︎ Windcharger is a 1983 Pontiac Trans Am (made famous by _Knight Rider_ and _Smokey and the Bandit III_ ) ▪︎ Brawn is an early 80s Land Rover Defender 90. ▪︎ Bumblejumper was a 7th Minibot from the Japanese MicroChange line who often ended up on cards for Bumblebee or Cliffjumper. Fans thought he kind of resembled one or the other and started calling him *Bumblejumper* or *Bumper* . His vehicle mode is neither a VW or Porsche, but a Mazda 'Familia 1500XG'. After looking it up, I discovered the Familia 1500XG was imported to America as the 1980 Mazda GLC ("Great Little Car") or Mazda 323. ▪︎ I don't know the exact model for Gears or Huffer, but can say that Gears is a 4×4 pickup. His details in the back include a padded rollbar with 4 overhead lights. Huffer is a cab-over-engine semi. Given his size, I think it's safe to say he's a "daycab" -- the kind of rig used to pull trailers on short hauls, like from a railroad yard to a local warehouse. Unlike Optimus Prime's Freightliner, daycabs don't have sleepers.
Favorite g1? Originally Bumblebee but after a Lazy Eyebrow sketch I'd go with Huffer. He'll huff, he'll whine and complaaain your ears off. Windcharger to my knowledge is a Trans am. Indention of the hood is a tell.

Minor nitpick- the minicars came from Microman, not Diaclone. Also all the minicars turn into pennyracers as their alt modes were pennyracers and the figures are 1:1 scale, unlike Diaclone, which I think was 1:60 scale.
I have gone back & forth between my like & dislike for the minibots for various reasons. (Not liking the mold/ transformations to looking nothing like the characters, but they are fun & look cool in vehicle mode. I loved the lower price point back then & that is a draw now. If I find them cheap enough, I'll snag them. That being said my favorite is Windcharger- cool looking car w/ sweet 'powers' in the G1 stuff originally. (Huffer would be 2nd.) But I won't throw shade to those who like or don't like any others. The keychain releases were sweet, but I'm guilty of snapping that tab off. Now if I could just get some tires, more Autobots would be on the road...
I got Power Of The Primes Windcharger and Titans Return Brawn for the G1 episode "Fire On The Mountain", the reason for that is because I like the dynamic between the two, and they were the best duo of that episode, I did get Earthrise Cliffjumper as well as Studio Series 86 Jazz for that reason because I remembered that they were paired up for a few episodes and the movie, along with Netflix Bumblebee. I do have Huffer, and I would pair him with Hoist because of one of the episodes. Sadly, I don't have a modern Gears figure, and the only Season two Minibot I have is a modern figure of Warpath, and on that note, I do have Earthrise hoist because of the Episode "A Decepticon in King Arthur's Court", that's an episode I distinctly remember because Hoist and Warpath were the only two Autobots to appear in that episode. it's funny, I don't have Perceptor because I have both Brawn and Bee for the Microbots episode, I'm still waiting on Perceptor to arrive at my local Walmart.
Later we discovered BRAWN had slots in his hips to shorten his legs. But we wanted BRAWN to be the tallest. We said HUFFER was the "Little Brother" of MAXIMILLIAN The robot from "The BLACK HOLE" movie figures, If anyone remembers those...
when i was a kid me & my mom went to k-mart. i was looking thru the he-man figures figuring out who i want to pick up next. then my mom was at the end of the toy isle & she called me over. so i went over to see what see wanted. see was looking at the transformers. i thank that they were $4.00 at the time. so she ask me to pick one so i grab brawn. he was my first transformer. i had all of them except for cliffjumper & bumblebee
My first mini bot was also the red Bumblebee. When the Pretender Bumblebee came out I let my bestfriend take my red Bumblebee for a wild but one day he told me that his little brother took my Bumblebee and throw him out of the car on to the freeway so now I don't have him but I did get a replacement of him that wasn't from Hasbro but from someone else but he wasn't name Bumblebee. I think it may of been a knock off of him

I have the keychan version of Brawn, I like that despite the grip it still looks a lot like the original G1 and it doesn't clash so much.
