JW Marriott hotel under development at Water Square in Detroit, which is part of a broader effort to enhance the riverfront area. This luxury hotel is anticipated to be a part of the revitalization of the city, providing a high-end lodging option that will cater to both business and leisure travelers. The Water Square area, near the Detroit River, is undergoing significant improvements, with efforts to connect the waterfront and develop it into a key destination for both locals and visitors.
The hotel is being built next to the Huntington Place Convention Center, along the Detroit riverfront at Water Square, which is the site where Joe Louis Arena once stood.

Hard to imagine that big of a building will be built on that small plot of land. Will be interesting to see.

I am glad that it is being built, but it will block the nice view of the city for people in the new building next to it. It might make it harder to sell the rooms on that side or cause the prices to be lowered.

@@marccantalini4373 yeah they should’ve put the apartment building on that side in the hotel where the apartments are.

Are those the old Joe Lewis steps in the background? I remember when the stadium first open people were complaining about them being slippery and dangerous. But I don’t think they ever did anything about it other than put a lot of salt down.
