have a closer look @ 4:04 its got a internal roll cage. dropping a 2.2 tonne safari on its roof from that high would be enough to crush any roll cage in
I have never seen this kind of race before?! Looks friggin awesome! Would suck to be one of the last rigs up a hill like that, no rocks left and nothing but ruts.
yes it had a internal roll cage. as for the event organisation, it was a outback challenge winch competition from Australia, then need challenging hills or its pointless calling it a winch challenge... Apparently this event is 1 of the biggest in Oz
The version with engine sound is in the suggestion box over -------> Posted by a youtuber named "ejreading" thumbs up if you want other people to stop complaining about not hearing that enginesound. =)
@Roz31573 if you look at 4:00 it is a full cage with the A pillar bars , they look like they just collasped, whoever runs the show should look at A-pillar support bars, that shouldn't happen, look at some WRC cages
Yes he was fine. (That's him steering the truck when it's being recovered from the creek!) Luckily he leaned to the passenger side as the truck went over. It could have easily been a different story especially if he'd ended up in the water on his roof.
he did have a full internal cage look at 4.03 you can see it it was jest a big cash look how it bent the winch bumber at 4.09 and thats made of thinker steel than the cage
Thats some serious winchin' Why did straper guy let go of strap? he almost had it up, lol.........get your foot off the break.......move gear to rev........only roll tires......
@sohcsarewicked I stand corrected! There certainly is foam padding visible like that used on an internal cage.... bit of an epic fail really then isn't it?
that is why i hate short wheel base truck i bet this truck is around the 75-85 inch wheel base i like mine around 112-122 ish i get it small tires small wheel base though
ROFL @ I666rpc. All vehicles require CCDA approved cages before they can enter. They all go through scrutineering before every event. Shit happens. There was a bad rollover at the Vic leg last year as well. Very similar wall too except I believe he was trying to rive the first part of the wall.
javiajero EVEN IF he had not hit the brakes, the axle would have gotten caught on that rock sticking out, and even if it had not snagged, it would have probs rolled sideways, look at the direction the wheels were pointing. I'm sure you know, if you have done any off roading, is that it's very hard NOT to hit the brakes at that point, cos it comes naturally to you.
did it have an internal cage, i thought i seen one in it. the event organiser should reconsider wot he does after setting a fucked up winch hill like that
@frogtwat, maybe you should look closer, that isn't a full cage, it's only a basic rear hoop. Also, if he was wearing a proper harness he wouldn't have been able to lean into the passenger side. Don't be so quick to jump on people
@barnseynqtsv Possibly there was a huge amount of F?n swearing .. or should have been .. thus I seriuosly doubt - the standard audio would be suitable .. for general viewing .. But ur right .. better to have MUTED any swearing & simply - no sound .. rather than that silly crap.
allways seem to stumble across this vid and every time i watch it i get a shiver up my spine.

Thats both awesome and scary! but definitely more awesome! Nice job!
Holly Fuck!!!It was like watching my brother die all over again....I am Happy the driver lived..
I have never seen this kind of race before?! Looks friggin awesome! Would suck to be one of the last rigs up a hill like that, no rocks left and nothing but ruts.
Thats good to here, yes it could have been, great vid thanks for posting it up

That's why they invented roll cages ...
blooming heck. Was the driver ok that was a massive roll? Hope everyone was ok very lucky i hope
@Roz31573 if you look at 4:00 it is a full cage with the A pillar bars , they look like they just collasped, whoever runs the show should look at A-pillar support bars, that shouldn't happen, look at some WRC cages
was that a single or dubble line pull ? massave load on a winch line ! straight up and hooked on a rock.
sorry to see such a nice truck damaged.
I bet his next truck will have a roll cage!
seriously when will people learn that car enthusiast's like to listen to cars not crap music like this!!
Yes he was fine. (That's him steering the truck when it's being recovered from the creek!) Luckily he leaned to the passenger side as the truck went over. It could have easily been a different story especially if he'd ended up in the water on his roof.
single line pull running synthetic rope, and synthetic rope snaps if it rubs on rocks, just very lucky he walked away from it
he did have a full internal cage look at 4.03 you can see it it was jest a big cash look how it bent the winch bumber at 4.09

Agree 100%.
Why not juts hear the motor and stuff?
guy's it s still good a wee bit of a bend here a yank there . look it's sorta like new. Poor truck. Glad it's driver is ok.
Any videos of others making it up that hill ,.. that hill looks almost impossible !
Thats some serious winchin'
Why did straper guy let go of strap? he almost had it up, lol.........get your foot off the break.......move gear to rev........only roll tires......
wow the door opened after that!
damn did anyone make it up that hill.. that shit is crazy
Maybe six point roll cage can be safety. .

don't underestimate the importance of a FULL roll cage, luck was on his side could have easly been alot worse

@lauridsen1 Its actually a SWB GQ Nissan Patrol
strongest fog lights ever??????
1:34 He hits the brake, fatal mistake.

hardcore offroad without rollcage why? sick
Well .. it looks like MUM lost her 1/4" steel cable clothes line .. (either that - or he'll BUY a higher strain rated cable .. next time)
did it have an internal cage, i thought i seen one in it. the event organiser should reconsider wot he does after setting a fucked up winch hill like that

wat the hell....but no ROLLBAR in the car????????
what i want to know, WTF are you thinking doing those kind of obstacles without a cage.
@87pathy my thoughts exactly!!!
yeah thats a fail on the cage but still a very nice video AAA from me =D
ill give ya a bad price for the tyres!!! haha
Why the winch wire snapped?
@iwannabawannab Ummm...this competition is the ARC extreme winch challenge. Pulling yourself out of a bog isn't very extreme, now, is it?
Note to self: Don't buy ARB winch cable
he shoulda got a volvo then he wouldnt of had an implosion like that
where is this at ???
bet he regrets not spending the extra $ for a cage

Why must people destroy a good video with music...
did him dieded!
pretty crazy wheelin. drop the music please! its better to hear the motor... especially creed..ugh, theyre like the christian nickelback of the 90s
i would rather hear the engine sound =.="
sono matti questa e la sola ragione
LOL
mate arh winches are for getting outa boggs not dumb shit like that........
Wow thats pretty intense
Its not four wheeling if you have to use a winch to get up the hill
