I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for this video. Using your idea of galvanized pipes in this way, I was able to rig up a privacy fence onto my deck handrail, attached it with a flange to the wall of the house and it works amazingly well - and once I planned it out, it only took me 20 minutes to complete! Very creative.
I’ve been needing to do this for awhile now. Problem is I need to attach one end to the stucco side of my house. Pretty sure there is OSB where I want to put the eyelit lag bolts. Any ideas
Great project. I love your ideal for the braces. the only thing I would do different is use UV rated cable ties (Black). been doing electrical work for 30 years and the white cable ties seem to dry rot after a few years.
@@willchart1 Thanks for this tip as well - I used these instead of my usual white ones to secure a privacy fence panel to the pipe framework in the video. Thank you!
I do not have a wooden deck but I do have a brick paved patio , would you recommend doing the same by drilling the support rails into the exterior sitting wall ? Of course using the same method , I’m trying not to cement 10 foot poles into the ground and having to connect the string lights that way but if that’s my only better choice then I’ll have to do it that way ,
Sorry I didn't show that James. All I did was plug in one end of the lights and I have an exterior outlet I plugged in the other end of the extension cord to. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
I could have but it wouldn't have worked very well since it would have made it more difficult to install wire through the piping. Try it out though if you'd like Caroline. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed the video.
yo ....( as we say in Philadelphia!) this is fckin brilliant man ...i wanted to do this to my deck its like 40 feet long and i would (and did not) think if using floor flanges the way you did .... ok so home depot ...here i come ....nice!!!!!!!
Awesome video.... I duplicated your setup but added angled T’s to the top to easier angle the string & lights. Thx for taking time to post!!!

Great to hear and thanks for sharing. Much appreciated. Hope you subscribed.
Great video and great ideas!
Maybe run the cable through the mounts moldes into the light string. Avoids the zip ties.

Love your stuff Brent. Keep it up!
This is great and I plan to try this idea. Can you tell me where you got the fork terminal?
What happened to Essential Hardware???? Your Amazon links lead to plain iron pipes. I need Galvanized! I can't have these rusting. Help
You can also put a cord that has a photocell on it
Thank you! This is everything I needed for my light project!
awesome tips. Thank you! where did you buy the fork terminals?
Are these dimmable? And did it come with the bulbs?
Excellent job. Looks very professional
Good video!! Super helpful! Cool house too👍
You have more than three posts on there why did you only show the three?

Following, I’d like to know the same...
What’s the part you twist to make the wire tight at the end of the wire install? Any link for that specific part ? Thanks in advance very clean work .
Turnbuckle

Great video. Thanks
How is it powered?

Clearly they make poles for string lights that you insert into the ground outside
I was wondering where you were able to get the wire mesh fencing for you deck?
Awesome video!
Could you have just thread the tension wire through the lights to avoid the zip ties?
