    I don't get why just because Miles is there, he just has to be the MCU Spider-man, its kinda stupid. Yes i think he's a cool character but it's clear people only want him in because he's black, yet the same people get mad and say people only want Peter because he's white. I'm black and i'd rather have Parker, that was the character that got me into marvel when i was like 5. I love the hypocritical stance people have on the net

  • @knifeofdunwall

    Well done Kevin Feige for managing to strike this deal and for having the common sense to use PP and not MM. The mainstream audience have no idea who MM is. The appeal is seeing the MCU PP for the very first time. One cannot start changing shit without ever having us seen the original in its full glory first. Looking forward to it.

    • @naplzt4k
      @naplzt4k 9 лет назад +1

      Michael McKenzie It's stupid when they try to change the classic race of a character, a black Nick Fury works because it's Samuel F-in Jackson but a black Human Torch with a white sister is just plain retarded just like a Black Panther being white would be.

    • @tiatiatia9
      @tiatiatia9 9 лет назад

      Michael McKenzie Race in the Marvel Universe isn't essential at times. Race is important with characters like Black Panther, but there are several characters in the cinematic universe that aren't the same race as their race in the comics. For example, Nick Fury.

    Why is Marvel filming so many of their films in the UK? Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of The Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Dr. Strange....

    • @MacTaylorsGirl
      @MacTaylorsGirl 9 лет назад +4

      aroundtheclock Simple costs and logistics.The majority of the crew they want on these films work out of the UK studios. Also its cheaper to film in the UK.The Star Wars franchise shot moslty out of the UK for the exact same reasons. Also probably easier to find the amount of studio and effects time in a UK studio than in the US. James Gunn was over here for about 6 months with Guardians, between prep for the film then shooting then post production, I would imagine tying up studio space for that amount of time in the US would be an issue.

    • @aroundtheclock4751
      @aroundtheclock4751 9 лет назад

      Evil Lynn Some good points. Atlanta also seems to be another hot spot for Marvel films. I know Pinewood Studios has a studio house there too. I wonder if Marvel will ever return to (if they were ever shooting out of) Los Angeles.

    • @Hamza5274

      Uk government gives major tax breaks to studios filming in uk, so that it creates more jobs and gives a boost to the production In uk.

    • @MacTaylorsGirl
      @MacTaylorsGirl 9 лет назад

      aroundtheclock It will probably depend on the project. If they get the studio time they need in LA then possibly, but cost is a major factor here and they get more breaks here with tax. If sighting in the UK suddenly becomes expensive they would move. But the crew is a more difficult problem. Lucas stayed in the UK for the SW's films because of the technicians even when it became a cost issue. They lost the tax breaks for a while and it became very expensive to film here for a bit. A lot of films were shot in Sothern Ireland around that time because it was cheaper. Also they get more space/peace to film outside of the whole studio system in L.A. It's like Jackson filming in NZ it was far cheaper for him to do that than to even attempt to film LOTR it in LA, plus he had more control over things.

    It would be cool if Miles Morales had a cameo in the new Spidey film, or hell maybe he could have a supporting role like he is friends with Peter or something. It doesn't have to follow the comics directly. I am a little disappointed that it's Peter Parker again, since we know everything about him but I understand why they chose him since he was the first Spider-Man. It would be nice if they made him gay like Andrew Garfield suggested, like I said it doesn't have to be exactly like the comics. We've seen Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy already, so why not do something original that has never been done before. Either way it is still awesome that he is going to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

    Got to say really excited about Dr Strange but also very apprehensive, The mystic element worries me, film makers always struggle to pull this of convincingly. They either lay it on to thick or go to far the other way. So it either comes across over the top of falls flat and makes the viewers cringe. But we will wait and see.

    "A lot of people talk about Miles Morales" And who, may I ask, are these "a lot of people"? Barely anyone outside of the comic book fandom knows about Miles. We, the comic book fans are the vocal minority, but we're still a minority. Movie studios don't exactly listen to us when it comes to major decisions about which character to use. Besides why would you choose Miles over Peter? He barely has any comic history.

      KalvinEllis Captain Marvel barely has any story herself. She spent the better part of the last 40 years doing what? How much more personal story does Scott Lang have, Hank Pym is the one who has been around since the founding of the Avengers 50 years ago.
      The MCU need the flimsiest of excuses to have white Spider-Man for the third time and and their 10 white male lead and folks were going to find every hole and plug it.
      Fans pretending it's about tradition and fidelity to source material while cheering on white actors as Egyptians, and characters in Akira and Ghost In the Shell.
      Somebody is sleep round here.

    • @KalvinEllis
      @KalvinEllis 9 лет назад +4

      Tebigong101 Are you seriously pulling the race card over a comic book character? Sorry, I can not take seriously anyone who makes accusations of racism based on absolutely nothing. Scott Lang was created 35 years ago, Miles Morales was created in 2011. Lang's lore is kind of richer than Miles', despite not being the original Ant-Man. I don't pretend about anything, I'm telling it like it is. It's not a white thing, it's not a black thing, it's not a black/hispanic thing, it's about lore. Nothing more, nothing less. Peter has history, Miles doesn't. Peter gives you hundreds of opportunities, Miles doesn't. It has nothing to do with his ethnicity whatsoever, John Stewart's history isn't as deep as Hal Jordan's, yet it would make hundred times more sense to see him in a Green Lantern movie, than Miles in a Spider-Man movie, at this point in time. If you accuse me of racism solely based on my non-support for Miles and reach idiotic conclusions about the way you personally choose to twist my words, then you just expose yourself as a total tool. You can't conflate an opinion that doesn't support someone who happens to be a minority character, with an opinion that doesn't do so "because" he is a minority character. There's nothing that bridges the two elements together. Grow up.

    • @KalvinEllis
      @KalvinEllis 9 лет назад

      Tebigong101 You must be a really sad fuck to compare me to a murderer because I don't support a fictional character. Just another stereotypical delusional dope who blames others of racism while displaying his own bigotry in the process. MLK would indeed be embarrassed of you. Go troll somewhere else, cretin. Blocked.

  • @noobslayer135
    @noobslayer135 9 лет назад

    Miles Morales would be a poor choice right off the bat imo. Almost all of his supporting characters, and his story itself is connected with Peter Parker. You can't have Miles without Peter coming first otherwise you would have to rewrite the whole character.

    the first non-white avenger, black panther, is still labelled black. Isn't that redundant? All panthers are black. Who are they going to confuse him with? The pink Panther? He was created during a time when african americans didn't have the same civil rights. Don't you think it's time for a change? Maybe just call him The Panther? And what about Miles Morales? that would explain why there's suddenly a focus on spider-man in the MCU where there hasn't been a Peter Parker before (or in a while?). nope! Just has to be another white character. white white white. As a white person I kinda feel ashamed that whites just put whites in everything. It feels like favoritism that I try to avoid. Kinda like looking at the schoolyard where that asian group is all asian, or that indian group is all indian. This is the white group that's all white on the playground. Racist? eh... arguable. Placing your own race as preference over others? I think so!!

      Arliss Caruso its not like that ppl who are making these movies are white or some shit

    • @HarpoSpoke
      @HarpoSpoke 9 лет назад +1

      Arliss Caruso First you may be surprised to learn that all panthers are not black. The north american puma is also known as a panther for one example. It is very appropriate to indicate what kind of panther you are talking about.
      Second, humans are a pack species so these attempts to force humans to alter that behavior are futile. There is a reason why black people are more interested in watching TV shows and movies with black actors. It works that way for everyone. Bollywood is dominated by...Indian actors...surprise!

    • @knifeofdunwall
      @knifeofdunwall 9 лет назад

      HarpoSpoke Don't speak for me. I happily watch other races than my own and, in fact, box office shows that the only audience that finds it difficult to emphasise with different races on screen are white people.

    • @HarpoSpoke
      @HarpoSpoke 9 лет назад

      Nicky Thompson Nice racist comment. (but it's ok to be racist toward white people, right?)
      I guess you don't count Asian and Indian cinema. That wouldn't help your racist point.
      You also don't count TV...where white people happily made Bill Cosby and Oprah into the most popular in their genre.
      How about Will Smith...the top box office draw for several years. Michael Jordan...the most popular athlete of the past 30 years. ....Tiger Woods...the most popular golfer by a mile.
      All supported by white people.
      Sports doesn't help your racist point at all really. White people fill the stands at NBA and NFL games....sports dominated by non-whites. However, other races refuse to watch hockey, NASCAR, and any other sport dominated by white athletes....because "I can't relate to the athletes".
      So nice try.

    • @knifeofdunwall
      @knifeofdunwall 9 лет назад +1

      HarpoSpoke
      Rubbish. You've named a couple of exception out a massive proportion. And it's worth remembering that Will Smith was a rapper first so he had fans of his MUSIC. And white people accept black people in sports because it plays into the stereotype that we're all braun but no brain. You only have to look at the way white people overreacted to a black stormtrooper in STar Wars or the way they were defending the disgusting white wash of Exodus. They really can't STAND to see black people in significant roles.
