  • Join me as I hit the creek for some post-spawn topwater fishing in early June. Armed with just two lures, including the Whopper Plopper 90, I explore an urban creek that's showing promising signs of smallmouth bass activity. Despite a few challenges with drone calibration, I dive into the action, landing a few hits and sharing my tips for making the most out of limited fishing time. I also give the Berkley Nessie 5 a try on the way back, but it’s clear that the Whopper Plopper reigns supreme today. Plus, I’m using the Handing M1 Fishing Rod, which offers great precision and power for this kind of fishing. I had it paired with a prototype Kistler reel and Handing Blast 8 braid. Check out the link below to get your own Handing M1 - it’s a fantastic budget Power-BFS option! #Sponsored

That drone footage was so cool, was great seeing the fish and how they reacted to your lure. I've only ever caught a handful of fish on the whopper plopper. It is definitely a fun bite though when they hit it. Glad you were able to get a few. It can be tough when the water is that clear. Nice job!

Aaron good seeing you're fishing. I have no luck with a whopper popper. I would have stopped after the first twenty fish rejected me. It's like being a guy, at a all girls school dance and no girls want to dance?

That's exactly why i do these videos where I only take 1 or 2 lures. Forces me to keep working with one lure. But in your example, I just kept going to differrent dances. ;)

I caught a 8 lb 10oz largemouth within probably my first 25 cast with one the first time I used one. Gave me confidence they work.

Whopper Ploppers are great lures this time of year in my area! I’ve caught some good fish on them and my wife caught her first topwater bass ever a few days ago! A 5.35lb largemouth!

This that same spot where you caught the same fish twice a season or two ago? Pretty awesome seeing them react to the lure from the drone. Good stuff Aaron!

Yes it was! I have some favorite spots. Definitely some new locations coming over the next several weeks. I was pretty surprised by the drone footage myself.
